  Vrbo has the worst customer service department. We booked a condo, bought insurance and the more reviews that we read about the property we were having second thoughts about our booking. The owner had misrepresented the property saying that it was a 2 bedroom 1 bath condo. But in reality it was only a one bedroom 1 bathroom with an alcove. We filed a claim with the insurance company an hour after we booked and the excuse wasn't good enough to be covered by the insurance. We have made several attempts reaching out to Vrbo, but the customer reps heard our story, but made no attempts to resolve the issue by giving us a refund even though we purchased insurance. They don't care about their customers and cater to the hosts. HORRIBLE AND FRUSTRATING!!!

  VRBO double booked our vacation rental. We payed $6000 four months in advance. When we showed up, there was another family there. They had also paid in advanced and had also received a confirmation email with check-in information and codes for the house. VRBO has an automated email system and a purposefully UN-helpful call in system that reads from a script and is not willing to do anything except refer you to the owner.

  Paid for a place to stay in ************, ******, twice, through vrbo! The first time, the owner never contacted me, so after spending 3 hours on the phone with vrbo long distance in ******, vrbo provided no help to me. Vrbo hung up on me a number of times and required me to tell my story to a new employee about every 5 minutes. All the while, I'm stranded in ************ without a place to stay. I had to pay for a hotel after 3 hours of runaround and had to book my own replacement. The 2nd double booked. Again, I spend 3 hours in the phone with vrbo getting the same runaround as the first night. Never use vrbo, they don't check unto their reservations and have horrible customer service!

  We had a horrible experience with a vacation rental on Vrbo in *********.The property description and photos were completely misleading. There is no beach, the water comes almost completely up to the stairs, even during low tide. The main floor/master deck faces the 101 highway, the train and the tennis/pickle ball courts. The noise was continuous from early morning until late at night. We literally couldnt open the windows or sliding doors. The location of the property was never disclosed in the description nor was it circled on the aerial photos. The ** was left off (82 degrees), there were stains on the master sheets, used rolls of toilet paper, garbage cans were full, previous guests food were left in pantry/fridge/counters, coffee pot was unusable, dirty towels left out, light bulbs missing, broken blinds in multiple rooms, fridge/freezer light broken, a note warning brakes on bikes need work, rusted out front and back patio chairs, and inconsistent wifi. We immediately called the owners agent, who was on vacation, and had been unable to inspect the property before we arrived. She apologized for the mess and tried to downplay our concerns by reimbursing us with her commission. She became very defensive, condescending and dismissive about the location of the property and lack of beach. The agent removed the word quiet from the description (I have this in a text) and offered no additional solutions. We contacted VRBO, but they told us to work it out with the owner and would not intervene. I was told a VRBO supervisor would contact me, but I have yet to hear from them or the property owners. We have photos, video and audio, but VRBO does not have an option to attach to our review. This was our one family vacation and it was ruined. We will never use VRBO again. Do not trust the description and photos on this property.

  VRBO is a SCAM!!! Beware.!!!. they are not for the customers. They do nothing to help you once you book and pay your money. Your better off going through your bank to get a refund. They have a 1 hour hold time every day no matter what time of day you call. They ask for a call back number, put you on hold, call gets disconnected and they dont call back. Then you have to call again and wait another hour to speak so someone. I booked a rental unit on July 25th 2022. (Monday) for July 29th 2022 (Friday) I didnt get the check in information from the host. They said to give the host ****************************************** information. I called every day up until the day of the reservation because I still didnt get the check in. They told me the host had up until the time of check in to send the info. 4pm Friday was check in. I never got the info. They told me that I would get a courtesy hotel. I never got it. I kept calling over and over even with the hour wait time. I never got past the rep because they would put me on hold then disconnected the call. I had to sleep In my car over night in the middle of ******* **. Worst experience of my life!!! DO NOT USE VRBO!!!!

  VRBO has terrible customer service. I've called many times to speak and waste my time working with customer service reps that cannot help. They are just simply there to field your calls and take messages. I emailed VRBO in DETAIL. I made ******* videos and sent pictures of my concerns. Recently I got a email from VRBO stating they will not help me. There was no attempt from VRBO to contact me like they said they would. I do not recommend VRBO to friends, family or strangers. If VRBO wants to call me feel free. Vrbo Case ********

  Booked a home on VRBO that was managed by Sunshine Vacation Rentals. The management company notified the house I had rented had sold and our reservation was cancelled. I proceeded to look for other accommodations and found some. Then the management company said the new owners would honor the reservation. But I already had found another rental. The management company refunded my deposit but Im having no luck getting my service fees refunded from VRBO. And the cancellation was within the time frame to receive 100%. Everyone Ive tried speaking with is a foreigner that doesnt speak clear English. They keep dragging their feet, saying its been turned over to the specialty department yet wont give me a contact number for anyone. I have a home I rent through VRBO but will no longer give them my business after this.

  VRBO IS A SCAM!! ALL OF THESE REVIEWS ARE ACCURATE AND TRUE!! MY FAMILY AND I HAD THE SAME Experience as ALL OF THESE REVIEWS STATE. THE PICTURES THEY SHOW VS WHAT YOU GET IS IS A SCAM. ONCE THEY TAKE YOUR MONEY YOU WIL BE SCREWED. WE WALKED INTO COMPLETE FILTH AND DISGUSTING AND UNSANITARY CONDITIONS THEY DID NOTHING TO ACCOMMODATE US!! WE ARE SEEKING LEGAL ACTIONS A 7 DAY VACATION WAS RUINED BECAUSE VRBO SCAMMED US WITH FAKE PICTURES!! STAY AWAY FROM THIS COMPANY!!!

  This is a scam and not a business. I have rented a posted villa on Vrbo. I made the payment through their website. I called the host. The host said they have never posted the described apartment and the described apartment does not match the description on the website and they never receive any funds. I called VRBO about this and I was given a case number. For one whole month I am requesting the refund and each time, they are asking me to call the host. I told them what the host said. The host tried to contact them and remove their property information on their site and issued my refund since they don't have any knowledge about the listing. None is done until today. Today is exactly one whole I filed this complaint.
