I have purchased Milgard windows for my house with lifetime guarantee for my house. Guarantee was big factor choosing that company over competition.Windows are made with poor quality composite material that deforms overtime .I sent twice guarantee service request on Milgard website without any response. I am supriced that such a big nationwide company as Milgard selling products with lifetime guarantee on paper only and avoids to response to customer complains.Poor quality products with fake guarantee.

I am rejecting this response because: This is BIG LIE from Milgard and automated bot response.

I send first service request on Milgard website around 4-5 weeks ago and then 2nd sercice request 2 weeks ago with pictures of the problem and explanation. Milgard knows very well when I requested service and what the problem is. That automatic Milgard response it is just a part of they game "hide and seek"

I picked Milgard windows for my home over competitors because of their lifetime warranty.  Few months after installation some of the windows bottom sliding up compartment started bowing down (see pictures). Poor quality windows frame material is not strong enough to stay stiff and straight.  Bottom part of the window frame  looks like banana curve.

I have sent 2 service request on Milgard website with all the details, windows order numbers and pictures. It is been few weeks ago since last service request and so far "ZERO" response from Milgard. Not even automated response that my service request was received. I have looked on line for other Milgard customers in similar situation as my and there is plenty customers complaining about "ZERO" customer service and "ZERO" warranty on ********************** products.

Poor windows, zero customer service, zero warranty. ********************** = 3 x ZERO

Unresolved issue with door install at home. They have been out 2 times in the past year to correct issue with no **************'s been ongoing for five years, have had at least 7 service calls, and no resolution. I wait 6 months - 1 year every time for them to come out and repair their doors and prior work with no resolution. They have left me with doors that are severely damaged, that don't close or lock properly, along with many other issues. I get the same story/excuse every time. They have not sent out a field manager as I've requested, they miss there scheduled dates, and they continue to not fix the issue and only make the door package worse every time.

Milgard, the case no. is ********. Did you receive all the photos and the copy of email I sent to Milgard outlining all the issues? I had provided everything to BBB. Hopefully you've been able to review them. ****** has been my most recent case manager. I asked to speak to his supervisor, where I was forwarded to a voice mail, which I left over a week ago, and I have not received a call back. My property address is *******************************************************************************. Just as a general recap, I've had a case number with Milgard since 2018, and the issue has never been corrected.

The warranty service team will have the best updates for you on that progress. I will reach out and ask them to contact you directly.

I have purchased about 4 years ago all my windows and Doors from Milgard . They give and promise life time warranty. I have contacted them in December 19 2022 for a door latching issue and after waiting 1.5 months they send an email requesting proof of purchase and details of the door and etc. This is unacceptable and unsafe. There is no way you can get a hold of anyone on their phone lines and you can not call in a repair order. I am frustrated and do not know what else to do so I thought I reach out to the BBB

I was working with ******************* as an authorized repair company for Milgard Windows. A technician came out and let me know that he needs to order parts from Milgard to complete repairs. This was during ************** week of September. The parts were ordered and Milgard told horizon that they would arrive at end of September or early October, I don't remember the exact date. The date the parts were supposed to arrive Horizon contacted Milgard who pushed back the date by a few weeks. This was very strange because they had confirmed the arrival date and then pushed it back the day of without giving any heads up. But ok stuff happens and the date needed to be pushed back.At the end of October the same thing happened. The date was pushed to November. The new date came around and then pushed back again to December, and then to January. Then to February. Today was about the 5th time that the date has been pushed back and it is now been over 5 months since the parts were ordered. I need a straight answer about what is going on. Why are they saying they are getting the parts together, but then when the date comes around they don't have them. I have been fairly patient, but I do not know what to do at this point. I am unable to go to a different company because Milgard is the only one that makes these parts. They keep saying that they are working on getting the parts, but it seems like no one is doing anything and I have multiple windows in the house that I am unable to open. In this case Milgard is making this window repair (or lack of repair) terrible for me as an end consumer, but they also make the Horizon Home Hero business look bad.

My case number is 0609-0390. I did not mention anything about a warranty. I am waiting on parts for windows in my house since September. I have since called Milgard and asked multiple times to speak with someone who can explain to me what is going on, and have not heard back. I appreciate you looking into this for me.

Thank you for that additional information. It appears that you were not covered under warranty for this issue and our customer care team referred you to Horizons for the parts that you're looking for. Here is a copy of the message that they sent on August 25, 2022, following your phone conversation:

I purchased close to $30,000.00 of Milgard Ultra windows that have a full lifetime warranty. I filled out an online request, 10/06/2022, to replace two windows that are so cloudy you can barely see out of them. I received a response with Case# ********. I sent emails with information from the original sales order with all the dimensions, numbers and nomenclature and even sent pictures of the damaged windows. I've called and have spoken to two individuals at Milgard who just say "someone will be getting in touch with you". It has been seventeen (17) weeks since I received the case # and have not heard a word from anyone from Milgard regarding my case. This is unacceptable as well as unprofessional customer service! I feel like ********************** is ignoring me and hopes I'll just go away.

I first contacted Milgard Windows and Doors in September of 2020 (case # ********) got no response. Contacted them again in October of 2020 (case# ********) got no response. Contacted our local door manufacturing company who gave us the name of the local rep. December of 2020 finally got another case # ********. Jan. of 2021 the service rep came out to replace the window in our French door. He beat the c*** out of the door trying to get the glass stops off and completely racked the door. You can now see daylight between the horizontal and vertical styles. 2/16/2021 repair #2...didn't work the door would hardly open and shut. 4th case # assigned ******** 8/30/21. 5th case # assigned ******** came out 11/24/21 wrong hinges...came out 2/16/22 wrong hinges. 5/18/22 Failed again hinges wouldn't work. Service rep has been out to our house 6 times Sent case to the Tacoma plant. 8/3/*********** scheduled to replace movable door. Service call cancelled the day before. Door still was not correct. 9/1/22 I called re status - After a month they were still checking hinge measurements! 9/23/22 I talked to ********************* and gave him 30 days to get this resolved since it had now been two years that this fiasco has been going on. Long story ******************** has been trying to get this resolved, but to no avail. I have corresponded with **** on October 13, 14 and 18th of 2022. October 26th I said I'd give them one more chance to get this resolved. 11/9/2022 **** said door would be manufactured and inspected by 12/18/2022. Contacted **** on 12/20/2022 he said they are having trouble getting wood from supplier and didn't expect it until after the first of the year. Last story as of 1/26/2023 " the machine to manufacture/apply the veneer was awaiting a part from overseas as part of a repair"!!! They have every excuse in the book why they can't fix or replace our door. How can it take 8 months to manufacture one door? If you can't fix the door we should get a whole new unit.

I am rejecting this response because: Your response does nothing to solve the problem. It has been one excuse after another for a year now.  Actually over two years from the start of the original repair process.  Your lack of any timeline is unacceptable.  *********** tech was the one who damaged the door when beating on it to get the glass stops out.  It is about 3/8" out of square now.  How long do you think a customer should wait for a repair to be completed? Several years?  It's one door.  It shouldn't be my problem you don't make the door anymore, your machinery broke down, you couldn't get the wood for the door, and now you are short staffed.  You have already made three faulty replacement doors now I'm waiting on a fourth.  At what point will you just replace the unit?  This is the most appalling customer service I've ever experienced.  If you can't properly service your doors for heavens sake why do you offer a lifetime warranty??  Totally disgusted!
      Sincerely,

      *********************

I am the Original Owner of a new home constructed and purchased in November, 2006. Vinyl Milgard windows and doors were installed. On January 20, 2023 the Transom Window above the sliding glass door suddenly and without warning exploded with a loud bang with the inside glass of the double pane window shattering. As requested on the Milgard website, I filed a claim through the Milgard website requesting that my warranty be fulfilled with a new glass window. I provided four pictures, measurement of the glass and the numbers from the inside of the window. (Note: They were not where the Milgard video suggested, but were on the bottom of the bracket and not in the format that Milgard said they would be.) My case number is ******** filed on January 21.To their credit, I received a prompt email on January 23. However, it stated Glass breakage is not covered under your warranty. I called Milgard *************) on January 24 and wanted to know why my glass breakage was not covered. I was told that the warranty did not include glass breakage and that the breakage could have been caused by atmospheric conditions or house settling. Since my home was built in November 2006, it falls under the Milgard warranty dated April 1,2006 -April 1, 2007. This is a Full-Lifetime Warranty and there is nothing in the Exclusions which state that glass breakage is not covered by the warranty. This information can be found on the Milgard website. It is interesting to note that the Full-Lifetime Warranty issued for the period October 1, **** April 1, 2006 does include an exclusion for glass breakage. If Milgards intention was to not cover glass breakage in my warranty, it should have been listed as an exclusion just like the previous warranty, and it was not. Milgard should honor its warranty and replace the glass.

       Good Morning,

      Hello ****************,

Thanks for reaching out. I looked at the most recent details of your service case and it appears that the warranty team reached out at the end of January to notify you that Glass Breakage coverage does not apply to your affected product. The best next-step would be for you to contact a local Milgard Certified Dealer to complete that work. If you have any questions about the warranty coverage, you can contact the warranty team at 1-800-MILGARD. For full warranty details, including coverage and exclusion by product, visit milgard.com/warranty.

      Complaint: 18902500

I am rejecting this response because:

I do not accept the current Milgard response. I accepted their January 31, 2023 response that they would contact me to discuss warranty coverage details and solutions for you.

In their latest response, they indicate that they reached out to me in late January. The only time they reached out to me was when they sent me an email after I had requested warranty service through the Milgard website. That email was on January 23, 2023. I then called them on January 24, 2023 and they told me that they would not cover glass breakage, even if the window spontaneously exploded.

Following my complaint through the Better Business Bureau (BBB), I have had absolutely no contact from Milgard. It has become obvious to me that Milgard has no intention of honoring a Full Lifetime Warranty, and apparently does not wish to discuss this any further.

I would like to thank the BBB for their efforts in trying to solve this complaint. I consider the complaint to be closed.

      Sincerely,

We purchased a home that had Milgard windows and sliding doors throughout the home. Four of the windows have lost their seal in the past 8 weeks. We are not the original purchaser so the lifetime warranty doesnt apply. These windows are not that old. The companys window quality is not up to standard.

Hi ******* - so sorry to hear about the challenges you're having. You are correct about how warranty coverage works - the warranty covers the purchaser of the windows for as long as they own the home. Complaint: 18817342

I am rejecting this response because: I called the number that was provided and told by the representative that they do NOT have a customer service team. If my ********************** were out of warranty there was nothing I could do, and again they have no customer service team.

      Sincerely,

We have been in continuous contact with Milgard for over 7 months now. Their customer service is really sub par and their inactivity to address a defective window is even worse. The issue is now at a managers desk for approval but he has so far failed to move it forward. We have provided documentation to include the warranty that they have yet to honor. This company's reputation was once sterling but somehow their current trajectory is to be difficult, slow, inactive and protracted delay. The manager who is currently negligent in addressing our concern is ***. Here is a timeline of our interactions.First contact 7/22 about defective window First tech visit (******) - 8/22 2nd service tech visit (****) - 10/31 - said the window would be replaced and we asked about install. He indicated we would be able to choose who installed and could get estimates on installation from them. We indicated we would use the builder that built the house and began inquiring with SkyCreek to get estimates.Attempt to contact **** 11/17 via text - no response.Called to talk with Service 11/28 center (*****) - he had called to tell us the window would ship but that they would not cover the installation. We objected. Warranty document says it would be covered. Provided requested documents to include warranty documentation.Provided warranty document via email 11/29 to Milgard Support email - no response back.Inquired with Milgard Support email on 12/1 - no response back Inquired with Milgard Support email on 12/12 - no response back ************** center - ***** - 12/12 She said ***** would be talking with manager and we should get a call back. No call back.Called ***** again 12/19 and she is waiting on ***** to contact the Manager *** who hasn't responded.Called 1/4/2023 - Talked w/ *****. Again we are waiting on *** the manager to make a decision and move this forward.Told ***** that if we did not hear from *** by Friday 1/6/2023 that we would be submitting a BBB.

I am rejecting this response because:

We have not received any written resolution.  The customer service person left a message saying there is a verbal approval.  Verbal approvals are no resolution.  We need a written resolution with explicit steps of this company's actions to meet the warranty agreement.  Those steps should NOT include delivery of items to ******, but must deliver to our house and also stipulate what is covered in resolution so that our contractor is aware of what is covered.  These expenses will not be paid first by us but will be paid for by this company.  We are not Milgard's credit union and if forced to be so, we will charge a credit fee to this company for every day they are delinquent in reimbursement.

This company's customer care services are extremely lacking and so verbal anything is equivalent to no action on their part at all.  We have documented every step of this frustrating journey and if no satisfactory resolution is met and this company continues to be negligent in honoring their warranty then we will seek additional council on steps to take to make this company honor the warranty agreement we have in hand.

      Sincerely,

      *****************
