      So I found the website through a ****** search and I needed a plumber because our garbage disposal died after 5 years. I asked in their online chat if they service ************************* and after that chat window popped up, I was pleasantly surprised that we're smack in the middle of their service area. But this idiot, **** (*******) told me that they don't service *************************. They service, ******, ***********, Salem, etc but not *******. I warned him that if he persisted and told me that he won't help me, I'm going to give him a weeks worth of bad press. It didn't even phase him. I see now why they have 1.71/5 stars. I wouldn't give them access to my house if THEY PAID ME at this point.

      Task 1 was to "make a visual inspection only and provide estimates for any needed service based on theirinspection and the scope of the work." The estimate was ******. The technician's visual inspection revealed "customer also has an insta hot under the sink that is leaking." The technician showed a water droplet on the insta hot tank and a puddle under the droplet. We had observed the leaking kitchen faucet from Nov 23 until the technician arrived on Dec 6. We did not have the insta hot replaced. The insta hot did not leak before and after the technician's inspection. Also, the next time I used the dishwasher, it had no water flow. I found the on/off value for the dishwasher only and turned it on. Task 2 was "Install a customer supplied smart touch kitchen faucet." The ****** was paid with ****.The technician left.Upon reflection, we realized we had paid ****** for labor for a 2 hour and twenty minute job. The technician arrived at 8:30 AM and we paid with **** at 10:50 AM. The time was used to investigate, pick up inst hot parts and replace/install kitchen faucet. No crawl space was inspected, no walls were opened, technician was only in his truck and our kitchen. I called ***** and questioned having to pay ****** for 2 hours and ********************************** fair. ***** explained the ****** is the flat rate for the job. Task 1 said it was an estimate.

      TLDR: They charge 3-5X the market rate for basic services and scam you into it with their "convenient flat rate" pricing. That's all you need to know. I can recommend MP Plumbing, ProDrain and sometimes Apollo from years of experience across all my rental properties. Details below.----------------I've written maybe 2 bad reviews in ~15 years...this will be another...not out of spite, but more as a public service announcement to keep D&F from swindling others. Though I think it would be a service to ******** if these folks just went out of business.I have several residential rental properties and a commercial property with all the maintenance and remodeling that comes with them...for 20 years now. Consequently, I know what things cost and have dealt with many plumbers. Though my favorites are a individual contractors, sometimes I have to call the "big firms". MP and ProDrain are my go-to's for that, but they had a couple week lead time, so had to roll the dice....enter D&F.I had a simple job - replace a wax ring on a leaking residential toilet. This is a ***** minute job (just ask any plumber). At $150/hr (MP's rate if mem serves), this is a $145-$257 job. D&F charged their "simple flat rate fee" of $535...for a wax ring. UNBELIEVABLE!But better yet, they said a new toilet shutoff valve was needed (entirely possible...it was old)...that was $225...for a 15 minute job. And then they suggested a new toilet (didn't pressure, just gave me the option)...for which they wanted over $1000 for the toilet itself. Nice Kohler toilets can be had for less than $300.Their business model is low initial visit charge ($119), organized customer service, and then overcharge you with their "convenient flat rate fee" for their "plumbing solutions". So basically get in the door for a low price and showing up on time, then corner you when they are onsite because if you don't accept their pricing, then you just wasted $119 on their service call.

      They charged a Senior friend of mine almost $1200 for a routine hose bib replacement. The tech was there less than 1/2 hour. The part was $65. When she asked for a detailed itemized invoice to explain the charges she was told the emailed receipt showing simply what she paid is all they provide and that they don't "itemize" their billing. No explanation given other than "this is what we charged you". Repeated requests and phone calls have been ignored. My son is a plumber and I've contacted other contractors who all agreed, this was a straight forward replacement with no complications that should have cost about $300. Scamming seniors is disgusting!

      They are not transparent about their fees or pricing at all. They charged me $199.00 to arrive onsite after hours and an ADDDITIONAL $575 for the 'work' they did. A total of $775.00 to be told that the issue was actually with my less than 1 month old washing machine and they couldn't do anything further. I was never informed prior to services beginning that this company charges via a flat rate fee structure - this should have been stated upon booking the appointment. Additionally, I was never informed that the MINIMUM fee for leak detection is $575.00 for leak detection. I was only informed of that AFTER the tech had looked at our washing machine and called me to collect payment. Had I known this was the minimum fee I would be charged, I never would have scheduled this with this company. Lastly, I was only offered the pictures and vidoes of the findings, IF I paid the fee. The tech said that he can only send those after collecting payment, so I was not even able to verify his findings prior to agreeing to pay the charge. These are all unreasonable business practices. As a company who boasts 95 years of experience on their website, I have been shocked by how my situation was charged and handled! This company has MULTIPLE complaints against it with the BBB and state for unreasonable pricing and inappropriate pricing for services rendered. Unfortunately, I am not the first person to have this experience.
