    Subject: Complaint Regarding Inconsistent Name Change and Chat Restrictions on Steam Dear Better Business Bureau,I am writing to file a formal complaint against Valve Corporation regarding issues I have experienced with their Steam platform. When I first registered my account, I was able to change my username as desired. According to the Steam Subscriber Agreement, there are no limitations specified concerning the types of names I may use. However, Valve has recently restricted my ability to change my Steam account nameeffectively disabling this feature indefinitely putting some random numbers forever as a replacement?Additionally, I have encountered a new problem: I am now unable to use the chat function in Dota 2, one of Valves popular games. The inability to change my username and access features such as chatting represents a reduction in the level of service initially agreed upon when I created my account.This situation has put me at a significant disadvantage, as I have invested hundreds of dollars in in-game items on Steam, which, due to these restrictions, I am now unable to transfer or utilize on another platform. I believe this limitation not only violates the original service agreement but also unfairly restricts my user rights, negatively impacting the value of my investments.I respectfully request that Valve reconsider these policies and restore my ability to change my account name as well as regain full access to chat features in all their supported games, ensuring that current subscribers receive at least the level of service they were originally promised.This is my last warning to the company before proceeding this to the ** court. I have much more criminal complaints and a class action on my hand. I picture of money i have on items that can't be withdrawn.Thank you for your attention to this matter.     Steam/valve approved an RMA for my Steam Deck hardware in 11/2022 but never followed through by providing me a shipping label. I recently followed up on this and Steam/valve are still refusing to honor the **** I've asked multiple times to speak with a manager but I'm getting bounced around between support agents who are sending me scripted responses.

    Dear **** official customer service team:Hello!I am appealing to you with an anxious and sincere mood. My account was banned recently, which is like a bolt from the blue for me. I implore your team to arrange a manual review of my situation, and never use robot AI to handle it. I sincerely hope to communicate with real staff so that my demands can be fully understood.I have always been a loyal fan of ****. I have recharged a lot of money in this game, and invested countless energy and time. It is no longer just a game, but also a close friend who has accompanied me through the long years. I have cancer and my life is running out. **** has become one of the few comforts for me in this last time. And I am also a disabled person with disabled legs. I have found happiness and freedom in the game world with limited mobility.I went to an ************* to surf the Internet before, and later found that my account was stolen. I have no idea what the hacker did after stealing my account. I absolutely have no subjective intention to violate the rules of the game, and I have no intention of maliciously harassing the official. I am just trying to protect my legal rights and interests.If my account cannot be unblocked, I really feel that I have lost hope in life, and even have extreme thoughts.     I was in a game of **** competitive and the entire team left so a bot spawned. I switched my *** to spin around and shoot the bot. Everything was fine until I went to bed and woke up the next morning to find my CSGO game banned and now on my steam profile it labels me as a cheater. I have tried and tried to talk to valve and steam and they refuse to ***** me and want me to purchase everything I worked for AG**N. Streamer showed that the ** anti-cheat has been giving false positives and Valve refuses to unban people. I would like to have my **** account back with my skins and music packs but Valve is being a horrible company and wont do anything about it

    I have a review account on ****************** linked to a curator group where I get paid to do reviews, I often get gifted games and I buy my own games, steam accused me of using a fraudulent card on my account, Ive only ever used my personal card ending in 49 thats a cash app card Ive also used my ****** account with the same card. The card and ****** account are still active and have no links to fraud I asked if I could verify my information and they declined to let me do so and forced the close on the account. They are effectively causing me to lose money and business.

    I am filing a formal complaint against Valve Corporation regarding its refusal to resolve a significant issue with my Steam account (**********************************************************). Below are the details:My account was involved in an unauthorized trade, resulting in the loss of items worth over $1,100.The scammer never paid for the items, and their account has been trade-banned by Steam, clearly proving fraudulent activity.Despite having Steam Guard enabled, the trade processed without the required mobile confirmation, indicating a failure in Steams security measures.Steam Support refused to assist, citing their policy that they do not restore items for any reason. They even dismissed my concerns by directing me to their **************** with this statement:Steam Support is unable to assist you with legal matters. You will need to contact our ****************...This response is dismissive and unacceptable. It shows a lack of accountability and care for users affected by scams and security failures.Steams "Item Restoration Policy" absolves them of responsibility even when their security systems fail, leaving users to bear the burden of fraud. Moreover, critical information like their "Scam FAQ" is hidden and difficult to access, rather than being prominently displayed to help users avoid such issues.This loss occurred due to Steams own system failures, and I expect my stolen items to be returned or a comparable resolution provided.     I pre ordered black ops 6 from steam which this company owns back in July of 2024. The game came out in October of 2024 and I downloaded in but it kept downloading to my computer wrong. And I was unable to play the game. One day I got it to download again and this time it downloaded correctly and it kept crashing. So I restarted my computer and I was unable to get back into my computer. I have tried multiple attempts to explain the situation in a refund request from this company. They have not granted the request. I even have to get my computer fixed/ replaced because of this.

    I ordered a steam deck from ****** and previously from this company directly this company valve corporation I felt was being bias they abruptly refunded me which is good but I reordered the same steam deck from ****** thru a different seller and to my surprise I saw a message saying my steam deck account had been blocked which basically makes the system I paid over $800 for a brick this valve steam deck company was disrespectful to me did not provide any explanation why my steam deck account I set up under the email address ****************** was blocked access to purchase any games or content and when I tried to contact the stream deck support I got ZERO RESPONSE I am complaining via better business bureau to Expose the shady practices of this company WHAT IF I ALREADY BOUGHT CONTENT ON THERE PLATFORM IS THIS VALVE STEAM ************ ALLOWED TO RESTRICT OR BLOCK ACCESS WITH NO WARNING OR COMMUNICATION THAT IS VERY DISRESPECTFUL AND I AM VERY UPSET

I am the player who loves Dota 2, and my account is ******************** When I learned that my account was banned, my world seemed to fall into darkness, and my heart was full of shock and helplessness.I have always loved this game beyond measure.
