I was issued a refund for a purchase made on the 6th of October through this business, I kept contacting them to ask when the refund would be received and they kept telling me the time would be extended, 14 days first, then 30 days because of my credit card company. I live off social security. They are trying everything they can to not give me my refund of *****. Their customer service is only through messaging on the steam app so they have made it so I am at their mercy at every turn here. I really need my money back and at this point this seems pretty illegal. They demand I give them proof of the purchase with a shot of my bank statement. But they say the remove it from your statement within 14 days of the issued refund. I had to call the state run bank for them to look very deep in the history to even find the **** thing. Please help me get what I am owed. They have stolen from me and because they are a major corporation I don't really have anything more I can doInitial Complaint

I purchased a game called "Tiny Glade" through Steam on October 19th, 2024. For the first couple of days, the game ran fine on my computer. Then it started to crash periodically. My screen goes black and my PC overheats. The save files corrupt when this happens. These crashes are random and unpredictable, and completely defeat the point of playing the game. According to the developer, who I personally spoke to on the Steam forums about the problem, the crashes are caused by a still-nebulous issue with my specific brand of graphics card; this is information that was not available up-front to me when I purchased the game or I would not have purchased it. My PC met the listed specs. For a while I tried to continue to find fixes to make the game work consistently, downloading the new updates, updating my graphics card, and trying other things to make it run more smoothly on my computer. This, combined with the two days at the beginning where the game worked fine, ran up my playtime over 2 hours, which is usually the limit at which Valve doesn't allow you to get a refund anymore. I'm aware that sometimes, in extenuating circumstances, Valve will let you get a refund even if you've played for more than 2 hours. It's now a roll of a die whether the game will work for more than a few minutes, the crashes are completely random, they usually corrupt my saves, and they overheat my computer, which could damage it. I should not be expected to just accept that a game I bought only worked for two days, but Valve won't refund me for this purchase. It's been a couple of weeks now and no update has fixed this so far. I very clearly and obviously deserve my money back, but customer support addressed the case carelessly. When you sell something to someone that stops working within a few days, and you refuse to refund them, that's a scam. I've included some screenshots of my communication with the game's developer. My screen name is "cute lil' ufo," and the dev's is h3r2tic.Customer Answer

I'd like to let you know that after several more attempts to contact customer service, I finally received a refund from Valve today, so complaint #******** is resolved. I'm not sure whether it had anything to do with contact from the BBB or not, but it seems like they finally relented.
Thank you so much for your time and the work you do.
Regards,
******** *****

On October 31st, 2024, I discovered that my Steam account had been hijacked, resulting in the loss of approximately $300 from my Steam Wallet. This amount was intended partially as a gift for a 9-year-old child and partially for personal ****** account was secured with a 26-character password, Steam Guard enabled, and all notifications turned on. However, I received no alerts during the breach, only an email confirming an unauthorized order had been finalized. Despite this, Steam Support failed to take meaningful action, even though the unauthorized purchase could have been stopped or reversed. The support team handled the situation poorly, appearing not to care about stopping the attacker, and they abruptly ended my requests for help without ************* request is simple: reimbursement of the $300 lost due to this security failure. Thank you for your assistance in facilitating a resolution.Initial Complaint

I have been with Steam for decades and I haven't been able to go on my steam account for 2 reasons. My phone number changed, and I can't access the email that is connected to my steam account. There is no way to even contact steam to fix this. I got physical copies of games I registered on steam to prove Im the owner of the account.Initial Complaint

I've asked for a refund for a purchase that was made on Thursday (October 24) due to the experience being unplayable for me due to technical and in game issues, but because it exceeded the 2 hour limit, they refused the refund even though the game was not working as intended. I've contacted support three times, and they denied me all three times.Initial Complaint

I had purchased Call of Duty: Modern Warfare II on Valve's platform, Steam on Dec 21, 2022 @ 8:50am for $59.49. I played about an hour of the game and decided I wanted to refund it. Call of Duty: Modern Warfare II is listed as DLC or Downloadable Content for the game titled "Call Of Duty" on Steam. The "Call of Duty" game acts as a hub for all modern COD games. They have a free to play game, Call Of Duty: Warzone, available on this hub that I have played well over 2 hours of before. So, when I tried refunding Modern Warfare II, which I only had about an hour on, Steam wouldn't let me, because it thought I had 8 or so hours on it because of the free to play game being baked into the same hub as the paid game. Essentially, ********** and inadvertently, steam had both trapped me into not being able to refund my product by making the free to play game and paid game go through the same hub. I would like a refund of $59.49 and for Modern Warfare II to be removed from my account.
