I purchased a game from them online for full price. 3 days later the game went on sale. Their policy states that if a game goes on sale within 14 days of purchase they will refund you the difference. They refused to refund me the difference claiming I had played the game too long for a refund. That makes no sense at all. They refused to work with me or even contact me. I ended up having to dispute the charge with my credit card company. They refunded me the difference and won the dispute. The problem now is that steam has removed the game from my account even though I paid for it and they locked my account. This company is impossible to get ahold of and they don't play by the rules. They seem to get away with doing whatever they want.Initial Complaint

I purchased a new game, Doom The Dark Ages from Steam/Valve. The first few levels ran fine. But as the number of enemies on screen increased, the game became unplayable due to input lag. I requested a refund from Steam. However, their policy is to not refund games with more than 2 hours of gameplay. But the technical issues did not show up in the first two hours.Customer Answer

In 2016, my Steam account was compromised and later recovered. Since then, my account has remained restricted from using or trading any digital items (CS:GO skins and cases worth over $130 USD), despite having full, secured access for years and no further violations.Ive contacted Steam Support multiple times requesting clarification or appeal, but all of my tickets were automatically closed without explanation. I have been denied access to my own digital property with no option for resolution, transparency, or escalation. This is not a request regarding the anti-cheat (VAC) system I am only requesting access to legally acquired in-game items on my **************************** has refused to address the issue and referred me to their legal department by post, without engaging in good-faith resolution.Requested resolution: Reinstatement of trading functionality on my Steam account Or a clear explanation and resolution through a proper appeal process Or compensation for loss of access to my digital goodsInitial Complaint

I am submitting a formal complaint against Valve Corporation, the company operating the Steam platform, for unfair treatment, lack of proper account security protocols, and unresponsive customer ********** ********************** account was hacked, and the attacker altered my profile to include malicious links and content. I promptly reported the security breach to Steam Support through an official ticket after regaining control of the account. However, I was unable to remove or change the malicious content, because Steam enforces a profile edit cooldown (timeout period) after any changes are made. As a result, I was banned from the Steam Community, despite the fact that the changes were clearly made by the hackernot by **** reached out to Steam Support multiple times to explain the situation, but their responses were dismissive, slow, and unhelpful. They failed to properly review the context of the ban and refused to lift the community restriction, even though I had provided timely evidence of the hack and my efforts to recover the account. This situation has caused me significant frustration and financial loss, as my account includes approximately 500 EUR (~$540 USD) worth of digital items and in-game assets.I request one of the following resolutions:A complete removal of the community ban, or A full refund for the value of my digital inventory.Valves lack of customer support, poor handling of compromised accounts, and unwillingness to take responsibility for unfair bans highlight a serious customer service and trust issue on their platform.Thank you for reviewing my complaint.Sincerely,********* ********Customer Answer

Valve Corporation, dba Steam gaming, has not responded with verification coves via email despite numerous attempts to access the thousands of dollars I have in purchases of online gaming. These delays have lasted from several hours, to several DAYS in not being able to log on due to necessary emails codes to access my account. As a video game streamer and game reviewer this affects mt business directly, causing loss of revenue. STEAM needs to repair their code sending process or ELIMINATE THE PROCESS.Initial Complaint

I am filing a complaint against Valve Corporation regarding their platform's facilitation of Grinding Gear Games' (GGG) wrongful bans and refusal to provide fair dispute resolution in Path of Exile II.On 4-30-25, my account was banned under false allegations of third-party software usage, despite never engaging in such activity. I appealed with supporting evidence, but GGG stonewalled my case, denying my appeal without explanation or proof of wrongdoing.Consumer ****************************** Responsibility:- My purchases of digital goods through Steams platform are now inaccessible due to GGGs unjust actions.- Valve profits from transactions made in Path of Exile II, yet allows developers like GGG to deny customers access to paid content without fair review.- GGG told me I could create a new account if I wanted to keep playingwhich contradicts their own claims that I violated Terms of Service.Attempts to Resolve:- I filed a complaint with the Washington State Attorney General, as GGG is refusing to fairly resolve consumer disputes.- I reached out to GGG support multiple times, but they dismissed my case without transparency.- I posted on Reddit and Steam to raise awareness, yet GGG remains unresponsive.Requested Settlement:I request either a full refund for purchases I can no longer access or the reinstatement of my Path of Exile II account. ******************** should intervene and investigate Grinding Gear Games' business practices to ensure Steam does not facilitate unjust bans that harm paying customers.Attached Evidence: Screenshots of my ban, email exchanges, and records of my transactions.Initial Complaint
