Ive been a Steam user for over 20 years, with a level 108 account. On June 2, 2025, I fell victim to a sophisticated scam that resulted in the theft of over $2,500 CAD worth of CS2 items, including an M9 Bayonet worth over $1,600. This attack involved phishing, impersonation, and session hijacking. After a matchmaking game, a player I met added me on Steam and invited me to Discord. He posed as a Faceit partner and sent me a fake Faceit site link, claiming a bug prevented sign-up unless I moved my CS2 inventory. I logged in using my Steam credentials, unknowingly giving the scammer access to my session. The attacker canceled a trade I had initiated with my son and created a fake Steam profile mimicking his name and avatar. I was tricked into confirming the trade via Steam Guard, believing it was with my son. The scammer received the items.Later, I noticed a suspicious login from ******, ****** (I live in *****, ******). This should have triggered a security alert.I submitted proof to Steam Support:- Screenshots of the phishing site and fake trade,- The scammers Twitch page (now removed),- A tweet from another victim,- Login history showing unauthorized access,- My security actions after the breach.Steam refused to restore the items, stating a no-restoration policy, and closed my ticket without addressing the impersonation and phishing involved.I respectfully ask Valve to review my case, restore or compensate the stolen items, and improve safeguards against impersonation and social engineering scams.I can resend all evidence if required.

I was using steam to try trade weapon skins with my finance on the steam page. However my api was hijacked and they merged the trade to a new users account, I was unable to cancel the trade so me and my finance account had nothing. There was over 5 thousands dollars worth of skins stolen from me. Steams protection is severely lacking and they wont take any sort of accountability or issue a reimbursement of my skins. I agree if I selected the user to trade with that its my fault. But if I select my finance and it goes somewhere else, would that really be my fault or a technical fault by steam.

I purchased Koikatsu Party on Steam on May 23rd, 2025, for $59.99, expecting full features as advertised: 300+ customization options, ****** content, and a full character system. However, the international version I received lacks critical features found in the original Japanese release. Missing outfits, pose systems, and card compatibility were not disclosed.I spent over 12 hours troubleshooting these missing functions, not enjoying the product. Despite several refund attempts, even a request for Steam Wallet credit was denied. This complaint is to report misleading representation and seek a fair resolution.

I bought the steam deck OLED 1Tb instead I got the older version. Now I can tell the difference from the older to the newer version as the old logo of the old version it's blue in the case but the new one the case is orange. As you see in the pictures and the attachments it's a blue logo. I have been trying to contact Steam and Valve Corporation for the past 4 days I spoke to four different people and every time I speak to someone send them the pictures nobody answer me and a new person comes promise to help asking me to provide them with evidence and in the end nothing happened. And I have been dealing with this for the past couple days which is very ridiculous. They send me a label for return shipment the label have nothing on it no information whatsoever just the little scan bar I sent them an email so they can provide me where do I go drop it off is it ***************************** ***** *** because it does not say anything and I will send you the barcode so you will see what I'm talking about. So I would like you please to get involved I would like to refund this item I do not want it I don't want to associate with their service I do not want to deal with them. And I am afraid to send them the item and then I end up with nothing which I know it's impossible because I could call my bank and my bank can file for a claim on my behalf. But I don't want to go there because I don't want to ruin my credit by filing a claim. So please it's a simple transaction but they make it difficult why big Corporation nowadays make it very difficult for a simple transaction? Please you claim that you here to protect consumer from such a company's and I would beg you to look into my case and find a solution. Please look at my attachment

Spent over $1000 on software through steam, my system was compromised, scammers attempted some kind of fraud for a free steam deck, reached out to Valve who then network banned my account, contacted them to be told I was unbeknownst to me apparently a part of a "group" that was trying to get free steam decks and that they wouldn't help me, basically locking me out of all of my games, its a 4 year account, thousands of dollars spent and now i cant even use it anymore

To Whom It May Concern,I am filing a complaint regarding the permanent suspension of my Steam account (Username: issacharry, Registered Email: *********************** I believe this action was unjust and request a formal review.Issue Summary:My account was permanently banned from *Counter-Strike 2* (CS2) for alleged violations.I maintain that I did not breach Steams Terms of Service. The ban may stem from a false detection or unauthorized access.Attempted Resolution:Submitted an appeal via Steam Support (no response received).Engaged a third-party appeal service (no resolution after the expected review period).Request:A clear explanation of the violation with supporting evidence.Account reinstatement if no conclusive proof exists.Fair consideration of my case, as Valves lack of communication contradicts consumer protection principles.I trust the BBB will assist in mediating this matter. For verification, I can provide additional account details *****************:Email: *********************

Between January 223, 2020, my Steam account ********* was compromised and a large portion of my CS:GO inventoryincluding my most valuable and rare skinswas traded away without my authorization. While trading with bots is a common and permitted activity on Steam, I do not recall authorizing the specific high-value trades during the breach window. My complaint concerns only the trades that were made without my consent during the account compromise. One item alone (AK-47 | Vulcan) is currently worth $850+, and my total loss exceeds $1,000, including several skins with super rare float values, making them unique and irreplaceable as collector items.I have always complied with Steams Subscriber Agreement and security guidelines, including enabling Steam Guard and notifications. Despite this, I did not receive any Steam Guard or trade notification emails during the incident, which prevented me from stopping or reporting the compromisea documented notification failure. Steams own Item Restoration Policy states exceptions may be considered in extraordinary cases.Immediately after the theft in 2020, I contacted Steam Support but was told they could not help restore or compensate for the items. Multiple further attemptsincluding recently, with detailed evidencehave all been denied, even after I explicitly requested escalation to a supervisor or specialist. The most recent supervisor-level response again denied any remedy, only citing general policy and not addressing the exceptional facts of my case.Given this final denial, I am now requesting a formal review by Valves consumer relations or upper management, in line with Steams own terms regarding exceptional circumstances and platform security.

I was working with Valve Support directly for an extended period and only recently received a final denial of resolution in May 2025. I attempted recovery several times since the incident and gathered substantial proof over time, including support case records and trade history. Valves final refusal to assist came after these recent escalation efforts, which is why I'm now filing a formal complaint. I believe this qualifies as an extenuating circumstance due to the high financial value involved and their recent refusal to reconsider.
