Ordered an engine 4/19/2023 from engineandtransmissionworld.com (EATW) for a 2013 Dodge Charger. They charged my credit card $3180. Their website claims that engines ship in **** days. On 5/8 I received a vague email about a delay. On 5/11 I got another email stating that my engine was "loaded on the truck ready for delivery" and that an email with tracking info will follow shortly. On 5/23 I called their shipping department and the rep told me that my "engine is loading on the truck ready for delivery". I requested to speak to a manager and they transferred me to a line that went to voicemail with a full voicemail box. I called back several times and kept getting the same response and transfer. Eventually a gentleman named **** called me and told me he was a shipping broker and not actually an employee of the company. He was very helpful and told me that he scheduled a pickup but EATW never responded. So, he told me he'd get to the bottom of this and call me back. 30 mins later he called back and explained that EATW received 2 nearly identical orders and must have gotten confused because they only shipped one out. They said they would process my order ASAP and that it would ship out by May 30th. **** promised to keep me updated. May 30th came and went with no word from **** or his coworker *****. Both have stopped responding to my emails and calling EATW directly they give me the runaround, tell me its been escalated and then they transfer me to a manager who never answers the phone. After seeing all the negative reviews all over the internet it is probably chargeback time for me. Despite a *** investigation and class action lawsuit, this company somehow continues to operate. What a scam.Business Response

Purchased 2.4 engine for 2014 Terrain. When I received the engine it was installed by a certified mechanic. Took it on test drive and it kept shutting off. Towed it back to shop and found out phaser on camshaft was defective. I called the warranty ***** and was told that I should have called for pre authorization and they would not pay. I understood that and I asked several times about core pickup so that I could receive my core refund. They emailed me that the core pick up was going to be ****** + and instead of me paying a extra ****** for me to keep the core. I told them no way. They had told me several times that they had the paperwork and was just waiting on the carrier. My mechanic listened in on the conversations. All I want is my core refund and the Heck with the warranty, because I will never refer or use them again.Business Response

In response to the complaints response about the core return, we did communicate to the complaint that with our process on the core return, they would have to play for shipping and it would be cheaper to them to keep the core and look for other ways to discard it.

No, I will not accept their offer. I feel that if they check they will find the conversation, and who I spoke with. I am now stuck with a core that is worthless. Why not issue my refund and let them decide on what to do with core. I purchased the engine in good faith, and they should honor the refund in good faith. I can have my daughter come and send copies of contract, and a list of all witnesses that listened in on the conversation. I will never use these people again. After replacing phaser, engine is running like a clock.

In January of 2023, I ordered a replacement engine for a 2015 Dodge Journey. It was listed as in stock and would ship within three business days. After those three business days, I received an email about a delay in shipping. After a few weeks of the delay, I reached out asking for a refund because they couldnt give me a date that it would actually ship. They told me that they would cancel the order and send a refund. The refund never came, so i requested a chargeback with my bank. Still never received a refund. The company then told me that if I would cancel the chargeback with the bank they could release the refund to my bank. I went back and forth with the company for approximately three months of being told they were working on releasing the refund. Eventually, the email I received from them told me that I lost and they would not be replying to me any longer. My husband and I are on a fixed income and this was over $3000, and really cant afford to lose that money. I never received the engine or a refund. I would like to get a refund and an apology for it.Business Response

I believe calls are recorded. I was not informed at the time of cancellation of this of any partial refunds. No reason for restocking fee on an engine that was never shipped. According to your recorded calls I was lied to that engine was shipped and called next day they said no. Nothing will ship until next week. That's when I requested a cancellation. After being lied to. How can be a restocking fee for an order that was never fulfilled. If needed we can go to court.

We purchased an engine from Engine and Transmission World (they have numerous names; Engine Shopper, Midwest Auto Recycling) on 5/24/22. We paid for the engine and the labor to have it installed. On or around 11/26/22 the engine completely failed leaving our daughters stranded. We had it towed to our service place. After they ran a diagnostic they found a 4 inch hole in the block. We called Engine and Transmission world and finally after months and months, they sent a replacement engine. In their warranty, they cover parts and labor for 5 years and it states they will pay 100% labor if they have to replace the entire engine (which they did). We had to front the money for the labor because once again it was taking forever to get any type of communication from them and we needed to get this car back to our daughters who are in college. We still have not been reimbursed for the full amount of the labor charges even though they clearly state they cover 100% if they have to replace the whole engine. On 4/25/23, they sent us $600.00 and stated they have paid the labor claim. That payment was only 25% payment on 12 hours of labor. The total labor charge was $4,444.71. We want our money from the labor charge that we paid to have the 2nd engine installed after the first engine they sent lasted barely 6 months. They don't return calls, leave you on hold for hours, and lie about things that they say they have done and haven't. On 4/25/23, they sent ** $600.00 and stated they have paid the labor claim. Why is this business allowed to continue scamming people out of thousands and thousands of dollars?***** and **************************************, ** ************Business Response
