I purchased a "low mile" used engine from swengines.com for $2995 using my Discover Card. I understand now that the company uses other names such as "engines and transmissions world," and "used remanns." When I noticed that UsedRemanns charged my card (not swengines) I checked into the REVIEWS of UsedRemanns and saw that they are very bad. I called and tried to cancel the order, but ******* required an additional fee. Finally, ************************* <**************************> called me and convinced me that they were going to ship the engine, so I agreed to receive it, assuming that it was what I had ordered. At no time was I told that the engine had 159K mileage.Although in took several weeks, the engine did finally arrive. However, it was not what I had ordered. It was a high mileage of engine which made it worthless for our purposes. As you can see from my documentation, the seller emphasizes that it sells LOW MILEAGE used engines. The engine I bought had about 62K or ****** miles on it. The engine they delivered had 159K or ******* miles on it. Given the poor quality of these engines, the 159K engine basically has no value to us.They did tell me that they make it very hard to get help with warranty claims. Given that they do not appear to be trustworthy, I do not believe that they would stand behind this engine. You can get a hold of anyone on their warranty line. So if I were to try the engine, pay $2000 to have it installed, and it didnt work. I would be out $5,000 and have to deal with their warranty. I did not want that hassled.I imagine that I am not the only person who has been put in this position by this company. That is why it is important that this vendor stop lying about its product and warranty.

On 06/08/2022 I purchased from Engine and Transmission World a used engine (300-9MZ7O22Z) for 2015 Peterbilt truck and paid in full $16,395 invoice# ****** Before purchasing this engine, I talked to salesperson *** said the following:1. Engine has been tested 2. Engine is in good working condition and ready to be shipped 3. I will receive the engine no later than 06/23/2022 When I start calling 06/15/2022 I was told the engine going through quality check!!On 06/21/2022 I called the company again; I was told it will be ready to be shipped in 2 days. I called on Friday 06/24/2022 I was told we should receive shipping confirmation by the end of the day, but I never got any shipping confirmation!I called again 06/27/2022 and I was told the engine at quality control check and will be shipped in few days.06/27/2022 I talked to one of their managers *****, he refused to give me shipping date then hung up. I called customer service and told them I do not want them to ship the engine anymore I wanted to pick it up myself just to give me their warehouse address. Now they started changing the story and said they do not have the engine but if I give them another week or 2, they were going to auction to purchase a truck and remove the engine. I asked if it was going to be the same engine I originally purchased, they said "NO". At this point I realized the whole sale was a ******** told them I am reporting this as fraud, and I was calling police department and credit card company to report them. Now they said "Sorry if you are not happy, we will gladly refund your money, but you need to sign cancellation request, so I did and now they charged me 25% ($4,000) restocking fees. They never had the engine, restocking fees for what?! They are scammers, they sold me engine they did not have, they kept the money 5 weeks lying about it shipping it and when I got fed up, they forced the cancellation on me then charged 25% for cancellation. I need your help to get refund please.

Purchased engine from this business. Returned product due to what arrived wasn't what I was promised at time of purchase. Have made numerous attempts to contact this company with no results. Have all tracking information showing that they received their merchandise back. Filed dispute through credit card company nd when this company was notified they disputed claim. Was told by **** in returns department that once the dispute of charges ended they would refund the money. He told me dispute was to end on 09/26/2022. Have yet to see any action on their part. I ordered a 2014 Infiniti Q50 hybrid transmission for $2080 on 07-26-2022.the transmission shipped to my mechanic at Reids tire and automotive on 8-18-2022. following the delivery my mechanic called and said the the transmission would not work due to some of the wiring harnesses being cut. I called more transmissions shops and sent them pictures of the cut harnesses they all said the same thing stating that they would have to rebuild the transmission in order to fix that. I then contacted quality used transmissions on their phone number to get the process of returning and getting a refund started. the service member gave me her supervisors number stating that she was not qualified to deal with such things. I Called the number she gave me multiple times and at first he said that he would get the process started and put me on hold for twenty minutes. after a couple days with no email or response back I called again with no answer. I got on the phone about three more times with the supervisor all with the same result of being put on hold for 15+ minutes then being disconnected.

Invoice #****** Scotts Automotive:2016 Kia ******* SXL VIN *****************. I recieved my engine in April but due to the crazy national back orders on everything on the planet, my mechanic wasn't able to start installing my engine until August. When he unwrapped it, he was shocked by what he saw. ***** notified me along with sending pictures saying;08/08/22 "In short, they sent you an engine that you cant use. They clearly marked where its broken and that isnt a simple bolt on part. The engine has to be torn down partially to replace it. The part thats broken is upper engine mount that is part of the timing chain cover."I called sw engines and ***** (the mechanic) called trying to get an answer if he tried to repair what was broken, would SW Engines cover that cost since an obvious defective engine was sent. All I got was "this is not covered by the warranty". I told them it should be "covered" by the company because I spent over $6000 on an engine that looked like it came from a junk yard. There's paint markings showing all the defects, so SOMEBODY there knew it was substandard quality! So I assured my mechanic I would pay MORE to have the engine fixed, so I can get my car back..until I find someone at your company who will stand by their product and see to it I get reimbursed for fixing this piece of junk engine you sent. So we digress, he was working on trying to get the engine swapped out.. but 09/19/22 this is what he sent me. Pictures included Well ***, more bad news with this engine the Head gasket is starting to go on the same side as original engine. They need to send another engine Tell them that the head gasket is already leaking. Was spotted before install Not to mention all the broken up plastic from a busted valve cover that has went into the engine If they want pics of heat tabs.....there is none Short n simple they should have never sold this engine Can someone please call me, and help me with this mess?

The complainant purchased a used engine from us 04/01/2022 and is requesting a full refund or replacement.

The complainant purchased a used engine on 04/01/2022 and the engine went out for delivery on 04/30/2022. The complainant alleges that their mechanic stated the engine cant be used. The complainant alleged that the timing chain cover was damaged along with the head gasket is about to go out.  The complainant did request a warranty claim on these findings.

The specific sections of the Terms and Conditions state as follows:
1: The engine warranty covers block, heads, and all internals. Bolt-on accessories, wiring and sensors are not warranted.

2: Engine warranties are limited to manufacturing defects in the block, heads, pistons, crankshafts, camshafts, rockers, and oil pumps. We do not warranty any attached accessory parts, such as switches, sensors, cables, electronics, belts, hoses, water pumps, manifolds, wire harnesses, valve covers, brackets, flywheel etc.

16: We do not warranty oil leaks/damage on engines or transmissions due to non replaced seals, gaskets or filters.

All the Terms and Conditions of the Free Warranty are prominently listed here: https://used.***********/warranty.php
After further review,we do not cover the timing chair cover as it is a bolt on item per the Terms and Conditions of our Free Warranty. We also request that the Seals and Gaskets are replaced per the Terms and Conditions of the Free Warranty. Since the bolt on items are not covered under the Terms and Conditions of the Free Warranty, the complainants request for a replacement engine or a refund is not approved.

We do hope this closes the matter and please let us know if you need any further information from us.

I have reviewed the response made by the business in reference to complaint ID ********, and have determined that this does not resolve my complaint.  For your reference, details of the offer I reviewed appear below.

      BBB of *********.

I outlined in my initial complaint why I'm requesting this data! This does not explain why this was not said to me previously and it wouldn't have been necessary to pursue this venue.

However, the matter remains unresolved. They're referring me to the source that indicated the delivered product was unserviceable and need repair. The product was shipped directly to the mechanic per my request. The information, I'm requesting is to confirm its the same product delivered. Irreverent of the facts: I didn't receive any paperwork except a receipt, shipping and delivery notice, online. I don't know what was shipped or its condition.

If EATW cannot provide the requested data. Considering, I never received any physical documents or even where to locate the warranty, I found haphazardly. They may want to consider refunding my monies. Then, they can deal with the mechanic, where the product was delivered and the allegations, their product was unservicable and in ill-repair.

EATW does not respond to phone calls or text. You have to investigate to acquire contact information. Throughout these proceeding they have yet to reach out to show 'good faith' or maintain an amicable business relation.

Someone sent him an email to cancel the order and he did not even authorized it and he was not told that he will be deducted 25% restocking fee. He asked me to copy in this email. Please advise. In response to the complainants rebuttal, we are confirming if the chargeback was closed to then be able to move forward in the refund process.

The complainant purchased a used engine from us on 07/08/2022 and is requesting a full refund.

The complainant purchased a used engine on 07/08/2022 and the was cancelled on 07/11/2022.

The specific sections of the Terms and Conditions state as follows:
      5. All returned parts or cancelled orders are subject to a 25% handling and processing fees plus customer assumes all shipping costs.

All the Terms and Conditions of the Free Warranty are prominently listed here: https://used.***********/warranty.php
Since the order was canceled on 07/11/2022 the complainant was issued a refund minus 25% per the Terms and Conditions from our Free Warranty. The complainant also did a chargeback on 07/29/2022. Since the complainant did cancel their order their request for a full refund is not approved.

We do hope this closes the matter and please let us know if you need any further information from us.
      Sincerely,
      ******* **************** Team
