In November 2021 I purchased a freezer from Menards within a month I noticed a frost issue because of a defective seal.I contacted the manufacturer who promised a warranty repair within a week, however, a month went by and finally they told me they could not provide a warranty repair and authorized a return. I spent five months contacting Menards corporate and local office trying to find out how to return the defective freezer to no avail! After countless repeated attempts to try and reconcile the situation I finally went into my local Menards in Camby ******* where I was treated extremely rudely as I tried to reconcile the problem!I told them I expected the freezer to be picked up and returned since the process had taken so long, to which they informed me the only way I could do that would either to be to purchase a more expensive freezer or to rent their truck to bring their defective product back to them!Today I finally got a truck and took that piece of c*** back to them only to be told that all I could get now was an in-store credit Because it was older than 90 days Despite the fact that I started the return process before the 90 days was up!Now I have a worthless in-store credit to a worthless store that I never want to spend money out again In my *********************************************************************************************************** my life! ***** from ********* Menards store should be fired immediately!Business Response

purchased flooring and had it professionally installed. Shortly after flooring was installed it started buckling and floor became uneven causing trip hazards. I had the installer and another independent person look at the floor. They both stated that it was a defect in the flooring. I filed a claim with Menard's because the flooring has a warranty. The manufacture sent a person to evaluate the flooring she states in her report that she cannot verify that the floor under the new flooring was uneven. She also starts the the flooring is unable to float and yet none of the molding has put on because we are waiting for a resolution. The flooring is manufactured for Menard'sBusiness Response

I have reviewed the response made by the business in reference to complaint ID ********, and have determined that this does not resolve my complaint. For your reference, details of the offer I reviewed appear below.
I have already had the floor evaluated by both a independent contractor and the contractor that installed the floor both agreed that the product is faulty and caused the buckling of the flooring, It has been 6 months and I cannot finish my kitchen, the molding has not been put on and the uneven, warping flooring is a trip hazard. This flooring is manufactured for Menards and they need to be responsible for the poor quality product. To suggest that I spend even more money that i have spent is beyond belief!!! I have over $1000 spent buying the flooring having it installed and having the contactor look at it again. I again am stating that Menards is responsible for selling a faulty product.

Once again this product is manufactured for Menards and they sell it at their stores with a warranty. The company hired a person to evaluate the floor she clearly states that the warping COULD be caused by a uneven sub-floor but she cannot verify that because she cannot see it.Menards is responsible and needs to stand behind their product. They have taken advantage of a person on a fixed income and I now have spend over $800 on a floor that causes a trip hazard and I also cannot finish the project. I still need to place the molding on.

In May, we ordered two ice makers from Menard's, under the premise that they come and INSTALL the ice makers. These ice makers were more expensive here than others, but we wanted someone to come install and be responsible for the install. Menard's refused to do the install, until we showed them on their OWN website that says they will install it for an extra fee. The total cost was over $5,000.The ice makers were special ordered, and were delayed by over 3 weeks.Once the ice makers finally arrived, it took multiple weeks until the installers came (which we paid an extra fee to Menard's for). The installers came, and refused to switch the front panel over. The main reason for getting these specific ice makers were that they are front panel ready, and we wanted our custom front panel to switch over. Once we had someone else do that, they came and refused to do the plumbing work. The entire point of getting this installed is for them to come do all the panel changes and plumbing work. This was very simple as these two ice makers were replacing two EXISTING ice makers. All plumbing was already in place, just needed lines switched over.Menard's refused to return one of the ice makers that did not work, and refused to return the installation fee since it had been 30+ days. It was 30+ days due to their installers failure to come and do the work, and the delay in shipping. We have filed a report with Menard's corporate which was required to be sent via mail. (It's 2022, this is very anti consumer and is designed to discourage people from complaining). Due to their failure to install, a local plumber came and installed. The plumber failed to run a drain line, and now there is a massive amount of water damage to the house, costing over $5,000 so far to be remediated. This also has health implications due to mold growth. This is DIRECTLY caused by Menard's failure to provide the service that we paid for. Order #WCHE30175279Business Response

If all this be true then why are the employees at both the ******* and ******, ** Menards stores telling ** after the product is purchased the product will be taken back to the pickup area and held there for pickup when actually they have no intention of moving it from the sales floor. That's why they are selling these items twice. Our contractor has had both good and bad experiences with picking up items from Menards for this very reason. There is no consistency within these sales practices which makes it difficult on the customer. This is not good professional customer service.

On April 27 I ordered ****** in material. I recently realized some of the lumber was undersized for the job so I ordered and paid for LVL beams to be delivered on July 10 and when the beams were delivered they retrieved 61 2x10x24s ans 75 2x6x18s. I followed the driver back to the yard and initiated the refund process with the lumber they retrieved, a pallet of concrete and some additoonal lumber from my truck. The refund amount was fof **** and change. I was told they didnt have that much cash and would have to ha e corporate issue a check which id receive in 2 weeks. I called last week and was offered the option of returning other items from my purchase so I could get cash back to pay a contractor and was told the check had been cut the day before. I went in yesterday and sas told the check was actually denied and no one could tell me why. They also told me thag because im now last the 90 days i cant return some of the other items that have yet to be delivered for cash even though it was them who forced me outside the 90 day window.Business Response

The item purchased from the website is not as described. This company is not refunding any of my shipping. I have been emailing with a couple people now, trying to tell me the decription is correct, of the item purchased, and therefore they do not owe me shipping reimbursement, without any back up or explaination. The description shows and describes a PORTABLE fan. The pictures also show a PORTABLE fan. Not a plug in fan, which is what I received. This is the wrong item, and therefore shipping needs to be reimbursed.Business Response

While in *******, ** I bought 2 fireplaces (Pleasant Hearth 42" wall mount). and traveled to ******* to do some improvements on a house. I realized the fireplaces were the wrong type and tried to return without my receipt knowing they would give me a store credit. I took the fireplaces to the Menards in *********, ** and was told I had to have the receipt or give my driver's license so that they could track me every time I returned something. I said absolutely not. They also said I couldn't get my money because they hadn't sold a Pleasant 42" fireplace in 90 days, so I returned them to my car and went to look for the other fireplace I came out to ************ to buy (Dimplex ****** 48") and realized I need the money for the return to buy the new one. I told my son to go back and use his driver's license and get the store credit so I can buy the new fireplaces. I waited with the new fireplaces, and he came back with a piece of paper that said I had to email the email address on the paper and tell them I want my money/refund. I asked my son what happened to the fireplaces. He said they kept them, they kept them? So, they have my money and the product. I went back to customer service and the rep said I couldn't get the product back, and i said oh yes either you are going to give me my product or the money for it but that she couldn't do both. The rep said (she's a skinny white girl with glasses and red hair) I wasn't getting my product back and that I should email the company and get my money back. The rep said Mame if you don't stop yelling, I am going to call the police I told her I don't care who she calls, what are they gonna do put me in WORD JAIL? The police came I explained and he left, calling the police on black people can get them killed by the police. The manager came out and said **** I'm sorry I looked at the video and saw you back up to the loading doc and I saw you take the fireplaces out your car. Long story short they thought I stole them.Business Response

["Proper id" was given and menards had the "proper Id", fireplaces, and the money i paid for them, the fireplaces were only returned after the manager looked at the video and saw that i backed up my car to the loading dock and took the fireplaces from my car, they were not stolen] You said if i don't have my receipt the refund will be issued via merchandise credit check, so why didn't that happen, what is the purpose of contacting corporate with proof of purchase? What proof, if I didn't have a receipt in the store what would I have to contact corporate for, for them to ask me for the receipt again? If I had proof, there would be no need dummy for a merchandise credit check or corporate, I could just use my receipt. The fireplaces were only returned after the police told the rep that she couldn't have both, the product and my money and they checked the surveillance and saw that they weren't stolen. Pathetic!!!! Stop lying and take responsibility.

I am selling my house and I need a receipt from a roof order I had in the summer of 2016. I have to get this order for the sale of my house. I cannot go into a store because I no longer live in ****. This response does not help or offer to solve the problem. They keep asking for a credit card number that I keep telling them the bank CANNOT provide. I gave all other information to find the 2016 sales. Requiring a credit card number to find a sale has got to be illegal. That's payment information that is always truncated from any receipt. The order was delivered to my house. I've given name, address, phone number, email address. Why is Menards the only store who supposedly has no way of find a sale other than a credit card number? This is absolutely unacceptable and they need to change their business practices. It's also impossible because ALL retail systems keep contact information for orders that are delivered. Telling me that you don't is a flat out lie.
