I keep getting overcharged at Woodmans when I go grocery shopping. its happened several times and I think someone needs to be aware. I was over charged on Cottage Cheese by .40 on 2 containers and also overcharged on butter by .10 which I also had 2 of. I have previously been over charged on fresh mushroom, Draino, and tortilla shells. It is always something. I go to the cashier or service desk and they always act like its not a big deal. It is, how many other things are they over charge people on? And they never aplogize or act like they are going to do something about it. I would like to see them get a fine or give the customer a credit of some sort. This needs to be fixed. How many other items is this happening too?Business Response

Incompetent idiots Worst experience ever they broke my car... The idiots put the wrong oil filter on my car and as a result blew my engine... How do you not match numbers? What's worse is they take Zero responsibility for their negligence after forcing me to pay for not 1 but 2 repair estimates.. They should be investigated by the Illinois Attorney General...since they won't pay for ruining my perfectly fine vehicle I won't rest until the whole country is aware of their dishonesty and lack of integrity.. I look forward to a very large class action lawsuit against Woodmans if you have been wronged in the same manner by this trash bin of a company like this message and feel free to send a message. The more victims that come forward the better. The internet is forever ???Business Response

Mr. ****** brought his vehicle to Woodmans on November 20, 2024 for an oil change for the first time. Upon arrival the lube technician noticed severe oil leaks were present and noted this on the oil change receipt. The oil change was completed successfully including use of the correct oil and oil filter.
Woodmans was then contacted by Mr. ****** on February 20, 2025. The vehicle had been driven over ***** since the oil change at Woodmans. Mr. ****** filed a claim requesting Woodmans pay for repairs to his vehicle. ********* provided a diagnostic report and estimate that indicated his vehicle was in need of engine repair as well as service and repairs to the vehicles hood, tires, coolant system, power steering system, brake system and drive shaft. His vehicle was low on oil, leaking oil and other fluids and the engine was in need of repair. The oil leak was not related to the areas serviced during the oil change at Woodmans and therefore Mr. ******* claim for engine repair was denied.

December 29th. 2024 at 13:47 PM the car wash located on ********* Kenosha ******************************* damaged my satellite antenna, upon exiting the car wash I noticed that the signal was lost then I proceeded to pull over and the antenna was gone, I returned to the gas station and spoke with the cashier and he sent one of the mechanics on the lube department to retrieve the antenna he also called the manager on duty who provided me with your card and filled out a claim form. on January 9 2025 I received a reply where the corporate office claims they saw the video where the antenna is blown off while drying cycle took place they claim the antenna was probably already loose even when the car wash was completed they omit to mention that the force of the fan is extreme to the point where the whole vehicle is shaking due to the extreme force of the air these antennas are attached by four screws and all where clean cut the part was retrieved and kept as evidence in my possession when the manager retrieved Woodmans refuse to cover the damages after they made take time off from work to get two estimates they requested.Business Response

Mr. ******** visited Woodmans Kenosha store car wash on December 29, 2024 with his 2015 ****************************** submitted a claim requesting we reimburse him for repairs to his vehicles antenna. We were able to see on video that during the car wash cycle the antenna on top of his vehicle fell off during the drying cycle. During the wash cycle we could see the brushes rotate around and over the vehicle without catching on any parts and we saw that the brushes were free of foreign objects. The antenna fell away from the vehicle near the end of the car wash when the drying cycle commenced. At all times the car wash was in proper working order. This led us to believe the object was loose prior to entering the car wash, as air blowing on the vehicle should not dislodge a secure object.Customer Answer

I have reviewed the response made by the business in reference to complaint ID 22792431 and have determined that this does not resolve my complaint. For your reference, details of the offer I reviewed appear below.
The antenna is bolted in from the inside/out, the cover was retrieved from their own employees and was confirmed the cover was clean cut from the four screws, (the screws are still attached to the base) I have requested a copy of this video, and the request has been ignored from the time the damage occurred. I have informed them the force of the blower is excessive to the point it makes the vehicles shake while air drying, I will present my case to small claims Court, if necessary, since this is a clear case of liability.

I am writing to file a formal complaint against Woodmans Oil Shop/Gas Station, located at ****************************************The issue I am experiencing with the business is as follows: My car, a 2011 Subaru Forester, suffered engine failure due to the installation of an incorrect oil filter by Woodmans Oil Shop. After consulting with a mechanic, I was informed that my cars engine ceased because the wrong oil filter was used during the oil change performed by the ********* are the details of the incident:On November 2, 2024, I had my cars oil changed at the Woodmans Oil Shop at the above-mentioned location. They replaced the oil and installed a new oil filter.Unfortunately, a few weeks later, while driving home, my car began making unusual noises and suddenly stopped functioning altogether. ******** ***** submitted a claim to ********* on December ****** following an oil change that was performed on his 2011 Subaru Forester on November 2, 2024 at Woodman's Sun Prairie store. Mr. ***** claimed his engine was in need of repair because the wrong type of oil filter was placed on his vehicle at the oil change.
We investigated Mr. ******* claim. Woodmans utilizes ***************** filter products and the oil filter placed on his vehicle was a Service Champ HP4622. We confirmed with Service Champ this is the appropriate oil filter for this vehicle.
As we were able to confirm the correct oil filter was placed on the vehicle we do not see that the November 2, 2024 oil change is the cause of the need for the current engine repair. For this reason Mr. ************ claim was denied.

On August 31, 2024, I took my 2004 **** E250 van into Woodmans in ******* to get an oil change. ********* either put the wrong type of filter on or put something together wrong because the following day all the oil had leaked out and the engine seized up.I immediately contacted ********* and was told to get two separate estimates to fix the van and to submit a claim so we could get compensation for the damage. I had the van towed to two different places and paid for two estimates for repairs. Then I filed the claim as requested. On more than one occasion, the claims department denied the claim saying the van was driven over 5000 miles since the oil change and sighting that as proof that it's not their fault. I'm not sure where they got this information. We have photos and videos of the oil coming out of the van and the trail that was left all the way down the road. There is no doubt this was a direct cause of the oil change. These are dated September 1. It isn't even possible to drive 5000 miles in one day. I drove to and from work the day of the oil change and the engine seized up halfway to work the next day.Business Response

****** ****** submitted a claim related to an oil change performed on his 2004 **** E-250 at Woodmans Kenosha store. He requested we reimburse him for repair to his vehicles engine. ********* stated the engine repair was needed due to Woodmans placing the incorrect type of oil filter on his vehicle at the oil change.
Woodmans performed an investigation. Woodmans utilizes ***************** filter products and at the August 31, 2024 oil change the ***************** filter placed on the vehicle was a HP2222. We confirmed this is the appropriate oil filter for the vehicle. As we were able to confirm the correct oil filter was placed on the vehicle we denied Mr.******* request to reimburse him for the repair of his engine.
Following our denial ********* provided photos which showed an oil leak on the vehicle. The photographs indicated oil was coming from another location on the vehicle not associated with the areas Woodmans serviced during the oil change.
We have not been presented with any information that would indicate the August 31, 2024 oil change is the cause of the current need for engine repair and for this reason Mr. ******* claim was denied. We are sorry, but we cannot grant his request.Initial Complaint

We took our car in to be serviced by the oil and lube center for an oil change on Oct 28, 2024 to Woodmans in ********, **. Days later, on Nov 3, 2024 our car broke down and it had to be towed and serviced by our mechanic. After inspection, the mechanic found that the oil filter was not on the car, and the engine had been ruined by not having oil in the car. The mechanic informed us that the oil filter had fallen out during our drive and that the only way for an oil filter to fall out of the bottom of the car would be if the oil change was done incorrectly. We have spoken with many other companies and mechanics who have all said the same thing. All have said that an oil filter only falls out of a car if the oil change was done improperly and was not tightened. We had to have the engine replaced on the car because of this issue. The cost of replacing the engine was $3,607.00. We filed a claim with Woodmans corporate on November 4, and they since have denied our claim, stating that we drove too far on the car and the service was done "correctly". They have not provided any responsibility for this issue. They have handled this whole process very poorly, and the management we spoke with at the ******** facility was very condescending to us. The whole process from start to now has been awful and we have reached out to upper leadership and heard nothing from them. They refuse to speak with us when we call them, and have not answered emails. This has ruined our livelihood because of the negligence of their anbility to provide a proper oil change. We rely on these companies for their expertise and they have ruined our lives and car with no accountability. We are now in debt due to the negligence of Woodmans and hope they can make this right for us.Business Response

******** ****** submitted a claim for reimbursement of engine repair to her vehicle on November 4, 2024. We performed an investigation and were able to confirm via video that the October ******* oil change was completed properly. The vehicle was then operated over 500 miles after the oil change and prior to reporting any issues to *********. Based on the information before us we do not see that the vehicles current need for engine repair is related to the October 28, 2024 oil change. For this reason Ms. ******** claim was denied via correspondence on November 13, 2024.Customer Answer

I have reviewed the response made by the business in reference to complaint ID ********, and have determined that this does not resolve my complaint. For your reference, details of the offer I reviewed appear below.
This does not resolve my complaint because Woodmans fails to work with us on their negligent oil change. They do not accept any responsibility for the faulty oil filter that fell off of our car after only 5 days after an oil change. They state that because we drove it for 500 miles, that they are not liable. Woodmans should be liable as they are the company that provided the oil change to us. We trust a company to handle and complete an oil change at 100% completion, and they have failed to complete the job accurately. This resulted in us having to have an entire engine replaced. An oil filter does not fall out of a car if the oil change was done correctly. It is disappointing and unethical that a company such as yours refuses to help a family that trusted in your company to complete the job accurately. Now they have to pay over $3,600 in damages because of ********* negligence.

On October 5, 2024, I purchased (5) Zum Glow candles from their distributor 'Woodman's Markets' in ************* ********. Each candle was ***** + tax, totaling approxing $60.00. I have used Zum products before but never the candles. All 5 were defective, burning straight down the middle, no 30 hr burn time as indicated on the product. They produced black smoke as well even though the ***** were trimmed each time before burning. These are premium soy candles and therefore priced as such. Soy candles should not burn black smoke and should burn evenly throughout. I took photos and sent into their customer care website address on 10/11. No response. I called on 10/15 and spoke to 2 individuals, ****** and then Missy (her manager). For replacements, they suggested I pay the $25.00 to ship the empty candle tins back to them and they would replace. Even though I sent photos the week prior, they weren't acknowledging. I asked for pre-paid shipping label, they denied. To incur a shipping fee and my time to pack and visit to and from the post office isn't acceptable. They have taken no responsibility for their defective products. The manager was rude and continued to repeat herself several times in regards to her absurd solution. She stated that in 20 years, they have never had a reported defective candle complaint, I was the first. ? I have attached my receipt for proof of purchase. I have the empty candle tins to prove how all 5 burned straight down the middle leaving 1-2" of wasted soy wax around the sides. To spend $60 for 5 quality products is acceptable if they aren't defective, but these are. I would like a refund. Very disappointed in the product and how they took no ownership of the situation.Customer Answer

Hi,I'm a disabled veteran with a traumatic brain injury who shops at **************** in ******** regularly. There has been some tension at the store and this morning I was threatened to be kicked out. A few weeks ago, an employee confronted me over a post on ******** and said I was racist. Than this morning, the night time supervisor said, I had complimented one of the employees on losing weight but it made her uncomfortable. He wouldn't want to kick me out of the store.I'm 54 years and this is the first time I've been reprimanded for a compliment!! I told him I'm sorry, I'm a disabled veteran with mental illness who doesn't have a filter. I certainly don't like being threatened of getting kicking out. I'm just try to buy groceries for me and my service dog. I'm sorry I'm a friendly person Just the other day, I noticed one of the workers, ****** had left his lights on. It turned out, it was a different car that looked like his but that's the kind of person I am. I had a negative experience once with ****** in regards to a 2 dollar return. He didn't allow me to return it. I didn't have the receipt but the employee remembered me buying it. I left a negative review due to that experience.I don't know if that's why I was threatened of being kicked out, for complimenting someone on losing weight. I definitely don't appreciate it. Again, I just want to buy groceries for me and my service dog. Thanks and God bless,****Business Response

I went to *************************** and **** location today to get a basic oil change. I have no idea what they did but now my car will not start. It has always started without any problems right away, in fact while waiting in line I shut it off and on many times being it was about an hour wait in line. I see when filling my coolant they didn't even try taking off my radiator cap and just filled the overflow tank all the way to the top (well passed the fill line). I had to get it towed and the overflow tank was so full it leaked while towing it! But something else weird happened because now it won't even start and it ran fine until I parked it in their bay. As soon as they were done they came to get me and said it wouldn't start and it wasn't their fault. I have towed it to my mechanic and he will find out what happened. When I get these results and if he says it is something that was directly their fault, not only do I want the repair costs to be paid but also the oil change refunded, AND the loss of wages I will be losing this week due to having no vehicle. Its very convenient that it wouldn't start directly after the oil change while still sitting in the bay. In the past they have NOT secured my oil plug correctly, they have bent my ignition key, and they have not secured my hood correctly to where it got jammed and had to take it to my mechanic to open it. I let all that go but this is the last straw. I know I have an older car but that doesn't mean that people doing a simple oil change should treat it like its junk. I know its not the prettiest and I know they're busy people but my car is my livelihood and whatever they did affected my whole life in a very negative way. I am very not happy and will not be going to this establishment ever again.Business Response

On April 29, 2024 ************** submitted a claim for his 2012 GMC Acadia following an oil change that was performed on December 30, 2023 at ********* Beloit store. We performed an investigation into the claim ************** submitted requesting that ********* reimburse him for the repair costs to place a new engine in his vehicle.
Upon arrival our lube technicians will look over the vehicle and note any pre-existing conditions on the oil change receipt. In this case on December 30th the technician noted oil did not register on dipstick prior to draining. We were able to confirm the December 30th oil change was completed properly including draining the old oil from the vehicle and placing the proper amount of new oil in the vehicle. It has been almost four months since the oil change and the vehicle has been driven ***** miles since the oil change was performed. After receiving the claim we were able to inspect the vehicle and confirm no oil has leaked from the areas serviced during the oil change, specifically the oil pan and oil filter. Based on the information before us we do not see that the oil change performed on December 30th is the cause of the current need for the vehicles engine to be replaced. For this reason ****************** claim was denied.
