1 starMy wife and granddaughter called for a tow at 2:00pm on 8/23/23. After 7 hours we gave up and had our regular mechanic pick up the car the next day. AAA customer service reps hung up on both my granddaughter and I on separate calls. The female customer service rep I spoke was rude and would constantly talk over me when I tried to speak. When I asked to speak to a supervisor, she hung up. This was after waiting 7 hours without a tow. I called the 800 number on the back of the card the next day. After being transferred and waiting for 20 minutes, I finally spoke to someone. I told the customer service rep that I wanted to cancel my annual membership and be refunded for the remainder of the year. He told me they don't issue refunds, that you pay for the year. He did offer a credit for the following year; however, I told him I wasn't interested in doing business with a company that treated us like they did. I have been a member for over 10 years and the one time I use them they didn't deliver. When I told him I was going to file a complaint with the BBB he told me he would ask about e refund and that I would receive an email in the following week regarding this. And true to form, I never received a follow up email. I gave a rating of 1 as that was the lowest available. One last point - there were no weather-related issues on that day.Review fromsusan k

1 starThis is the worst insurance company I've ever had. They steal money from the account after the insurance is canceled. My agent informed in AAA in advance that the insurance would be terminated, but on September 4th, AAA took the money from my bank, and put an overdraft on my bank account! Why am I need paying for your mistake? Now what? AAA company will steal money from me every six months Never give them your bank details!Review fromJoi K

1 starI want to start off where I have been a member for many years but in ********. I have moved to ********* and expected top notch service like I have always had. ********* who ever runs it is the absolute worst. In the winter they couldn't get anyone to pull my husband out after 7 hours because they dont pay their subs. I called 3 times during the year and no one calls me back ever. Now they want me to renew and I tried calling again and nothing. So a member of many years with fantastic service I will not renew in *********. Your service is horrible. Sad Last year I paid for a renewal and never got the service I paid for. Advice to management get your people together and pay your subs so when someone is stranded venders want to use you. So sad I had great service in a different state.Review fromBrian L

1 starThis company is an absolute fraud. We requested a tow truck to our house for our daughter's car last night, after multiple times of extending the arrival time we decided to cancel as it would have been in the middle of the night. We rescheduled this morning for 9:00 a.m. the truck showed up tested the battery made sure that the brand new battery put in was good then attempted to tow. The tow truck broke down! So another tow truck was ordered for the tow truck the driver sat in our neighbor's yard under a tree taking a nap waiting for his ride. Finally a ride came picked him up then another tow truck came and got his truck and 8 hours after the original tow truck arrived someone showed up to get our daughter's car. We were charged $125 because it was outside of the towing Zone and when I called customer service we were told too bad it's outside of the zone you would have paid more than that. I respond with yes but we would have got our car to the mechanic and she wouldn't have been out of car all weekend. And the smug customer service person told me well you can't make any guarantees on that. I asked the company to reimburse us our Towing charge for all of our hassles. The agent then asked me how did we fail you today and I said if you broke down along the road wouldn't you expect somebody to come along in a timely manner that you called from roadside assistance. His reply was no because I work for AAA. I couldn't be more dissatisfied with a company that Prides itself on being the savior of roadside breakdowns. This company is nothing but fraud!Review fromLiz M

1 starAAA has gone downhill. A towing company told me they dont tow for them because they pay c*** I have sat and waited in dangerous situations and will do so no more. I was promised a tow in one hour today and am sitting here 1 1/2 hours later with no updated time. I am canceling my membership and would encourage others to not bother signing up. Buy the roadside assistance package your dealer offers you instead!Review fromApril B

1 starHorrible Service. Waited over 6 hours during the day in a Wisconsin January blizzard with my 5 year old (who later ended up wetting herself and the car seat) and finally after probably 10 calls to AAA and the tow company they said they were sending-( we never got through to them, it went straight to vm) AAA FINALLY agreed to let us get a ride home and not wait around for the tow truck due to the extreme cold. wow thanks.... My car ended up getting towed to a service center and what I thought was going to be a small problem ends up being that I need an entire new engine installed in the car. (Insurance, etc did nothing because they are saying the frigid temperatures wrecked it) Well, I don't have nearly 9k just laying around for that so I called AAA to see if I could get it towed home. No. They said. We cannot allow you to use our services to tow a vehicle from the same place that we towed it to originally. Well great. I guess they want me to give my money and big fat tip to an independent tow truck company rather than renew a membership. Their loss.Review fromDavid H

1 starA Nissan AAA van came to give my Mom's car service, she had a battery issue. There was some haggling over price but the service guy blew up. He started yelling violently at my Mom. I have never experienced any service person, professional or worker in any capacity yell at any member of my family like this ever. This was unacceptable. I felt scared for my Mom's safety. I took video evidence of the occurrence and the license plate and car ID of the service person. However, AAA has no phone numbers that allow concerned customers to complain. I tried navigating through their fully automated option system, but everytime I tried to get an agent on the line, nobody answered. This company clearly doesn't want to allow customers to contact their administrators and they don't want to be held accountable at all for the misdeeds of their employees and their company. The employee in question needs to be investigated and disciplined, but there is no mechanism for this. I will be sending mail to them but I suspect this company has zero accountability, morals and dedication to addressing wrongdoing, as is too often common in our society today, where morals are in universal decline, and people cheat and harm in public and private settings.Review fromTracey C

1 starI have been a member since ****. This service has absolutely gone downhill. I have waited hours for service on several occasions. I have had nobody show up stranded in the freeway. I let my AAA lapse. I reinstated it 2 months later. I have been charged an additional ***** for RV service. I don't own an RV and realized I have been charged for RV in the past. I called to have RV removed. It was removed. However they will not credit me for the additional cost. 5 days too late too dispute on my credit card. Terrible bad customer relations.
