I was charged twice in two weeks for car payments financed through Associated Bank, N.A.'s Auto Finance system. The second charge resulted in overdrafting my checking account and charging me additional fees for the transaction that was not authorized.I spoke with an Associated Bank employee (possibly on a recorded line) on August 18, 2022. I paid a one-time payment to cover the month of August at that time in the amount of $441.74. I specifically asked the customer service agent if that would mean that I would not be automatically charged again on the payment due date. She confirmed that I would NOT be charged a second time. I asked her more than once precisely for this reason and she confirmed that I would NOT be charged twice in the same billing cycle.Today, on August 27th, I was charged a second time for $441.74 despite my account having no balance due and the additional sum taken now has overdrawn my checking account. I specifically and intentionally asked more than once so this would not happen and they either (1) knowingly provided incorrect or false information or (2) were simply incorrect. In either case, they have caused considerable financial harm in the form of additional fees and negative balances to my personal finances.Business Response

I purchased a car from ******************************** ********. They gave me associated Bank auto finance as a person to for my payments. Associated Bank is horrible. I made the payment two days early and show that I was late on my payment. Also when I receive it in the Invoice in the mail it was two days before my payment was due which doesnt make sense they dont put confirmation numbers when you pay your bill online and again it showed that I was late on my payment which I wasnt. They give you no information I would never go with them again or with ******* Chevrolet giving me them.Business Response

Somebody open an account with associated bank in my name which was done by fraud I spoke with this facility more then 4 of 5 times since then the account was open in the beginning of June when I found out I close it they want give me no tour of information that somebody stole my identity to use to open a bank account with them and I need to get to the buttom of this and I need something so people can stop stealing my informationBusiness Response

I have a mortgage from Associated Bank for *********************************************************************. I was preapproved by 3 other lenders but decided on AB because they had a lower interest rate.During my preapproval with AB, there was an issue with their online portal that caused me to upload docs multiple times that resulted in a week long delay because the initial CD I signed didn't get saved.After I was preapproved, they miscalculated how much the sellers could contribute to my closing costs.During the conditional approval, the underwriters said my DTI was too low and denied my application even though I was already preapproved by AB. It was very difficult to get straight answers from them as to what they were looking at to determine that my DTI was too low. After multiple rounds of emails, it turned out they had made a mistake and pulled in a lot more debt than I actually have. After it was rectified, I was conditionally approved and issued a commitment letter.During the final approval, they again said my DTI was too low. Apparently there was a disagreement between the 3 underwriters working on my file. As a result of this delay and their slow pace at providing answers, it caused me to have to postpone my closing. I spoke to the manager but that didn't seem to result in a quicker response from the underwriters. Having had to postpone the closing once already, I was very concerned the sellers were going to back out and that I would lose the house. Then there was yet another delay with the appraisal report. After much waiting, I was finally approved and my closing was rescheduled for 7/1, but because AB failed to send the final CD to me in time, my closing was yet again rescheduled to 7/7. With so many mistakes, delays and reschedules, I was very anxious and extremely worried the entire time, not to mention multiple sleepless nights. This process really felt like amateur hour. Even my realtor advised me to never use AB ever again.Can you please help me make this right?Business Response

I have reviewed the response made by the business in reference to complaint ID ********, and have determined that this does not resolve my complaint. For your reference, details of the offer I reviewed appear below.
******, when you and I spoke, you said you were my advocate and I naively believed you.
Your response to my complaint insinuates that my request for a quick closing date is to blame for the many, many failures of Associated Bank. This is victim blaming!
Is Associated Bank's operation so fragile that a request for a quick close resulted in a technology failure on your portal, the miscalculation of how much sellers could contribute to my closing costs, underwriters pulling in more debt than I had by mistake and therefore miscalculation my DTI, the slow responses from your underwriters, the delay with the appraisal report and the failure to send me the Final CD on time?
When you reject my compensation request without even a counter offer, this tells me that all of my stress, worries and sleepless nights actually means nothing to you. Is this the level of care all customers can expect from Associated Bank or is this terrible treatment only reserved for your minority customers?
Do the right thing and make this right!

My account was frozen for ***** days because I wanted to wire money to Crypto.com . Its a valid company if he knew what he was doing in the fraud department. This bank doesnt pull out transactions for days leaving you with a false balance causing you to go negative. No other banks take this long to hold/take money out. I want a refund for the nsf fees and account closed.Business Response

I received a faulty charge on 4/27/2022 from Fiverr.com in the amount of $189.90, and Pipo us **** in the amount of $340.00 and Associated Bank did not honor that faulty charge and paid out these two companies out of my checking account.Business Response
