I recently opened a checking account with Associated Bank, the entire process was done online. The account was funded with a deposit from my business account (at a different bank). All funds were available in the account after (approximately) 24 hours. As I always do, ******** this account with my other primary (external) account. All information was confirmed with micro deposits. Once accounts were linked I then transferred 3k (leaving approximately ****) from the Associated Bank account, to my other primary account. I received an email notification that the funds could not be sent to my other account, and they would be placed back in my account within 3-5 business days. When I went to login to online banking, I was denied access. I contacted customer service (as instructed to by the website) and was told that my account is under investigation for fraud. I have received no phone call, no notification, nor can I monitor my account. Should this not be resolved I will next be filing a complaint with the *** in accordance with ********* Statute *******Business Response

On October 28, 22, I drove to the Associated Bank in ******* on *************** to "close" my count which they did graciously. On or about 11-9-22 or 11-10-22, a business sent through an automatic deduction. To my horror, Associated Bank, took it upon themself without my permission and my knowledge, to "re-opened" my account to pay it. The business requesting payment had my e-mail and phone to contact me. Which I am sure they would had done if the bank didn't, in my opinion, commit fraud by reopening my closed out account. I was lead to believe this account was closed. Then I received a letter dated Nov. 26, 2022 that this 'allegedly' closed account was 'overdrawn'. I called them about this, and was told "they can do it". Just like that, they can put you in default to pay out on what you thought was a closed account, and assess you a "fee" because ' they can do it'. 12-17-2022, I spoke at great lengths with a **********;who said he was in management for 2 hours on December 15, 22022. He understood this complaint had serious ramifications. I told him of 3-4 stipulations that must be met in order for me to consider this complaint as "closed". If just 1 of these are not met, the complaint remains opened. He said he would issue the letter to me with my stipulations that are approved, I should have said letter by Christmas, 2022.The money was a very miniscule part in this complaint. Until ****** is made aware of the full ramifications on their wrong doing, I highly suggest, she not use this case as a teaching tool. She will
need my permission and all the stipulations to understand the full scope of the complaint.
I thank the BBB for being the conduit in attempting to resolving this serious complaint.

I had used a taxi cab company in ****** and had paid for a round trip to the airport and back from the hotel on 10/31/22. I canceled my return trip promptly and still have not gotten my money back. It was for $50. I filled a dispute with Associated Bank and they rejected it and told me to work with the merchant. The merchant has told me they cannot help me out and work with my bank. They both keep throwing me back and forth and Im very disappointed with how Associated Bank is handling it. I spoke to a manager by the name of ****** on 12/8/22 and she reported they cant release the funds back to me. Their number is **************. please help me rectify this matter. I have an auto loan account with associated bank with account no. ****. and was paid off recently when i decide to refinance it with another bank. They reached out to me on November 14 regarding a refund($889). I have been calling them every week and there is no clear date when I will recieve my check. I have a check that is drawn from associated bank. The person they gave it to me is a customer of theirs. So I called and wanted to know what I needed to cash it because I do not being with them. They told me two forms of IDs and the check **** to be below $5600 so I called on Monday to make sure they had the funds available there. Mind you Ive called other ones and ******** and they dont feel comfortable cashing a check from a nonmember so this one branch said they would. When we get there, they give me the fifth and asking all kinds of questions what I do, where I work, my social, my address, all they didnt ask was my blood type people came from another bank just to approve to cash a $4600 check. It is a hassle with these people to get a cash check. Mind you you should not care where I live if I live under a rock or not if that check is made out to me in my name and I can prove that you should cash the check no matter what , I dont need to be jumping through hoops and I dont need to prove anything to you. And maybe its because Im Mexican that they treat me like this but its always associated banks around the f*** cities. It is a zoo and I dont recommend this to anybody to bank with them.Business Response

Every month I try to make my car payment online. And every month it says submission error. So every month I have to call in and make my payment on the phone. Every month they said they will fix their website. Every month they do not. I'd rather not have them. But I'm stuck with them because I can't refinance at the moment. All I ask is for them to fix their website. Instead they blame it on me. And also say I can't pay extra each month. I'm hard of hearing and it's hard being on the phone. They blame it on my bank. It wasn't resolved. They still haven't fixed the online payment issue. It also took me numerous calls and hold times to talk to someone about the issue and they continue to brush it off. I get my statements litterly 5 days before it's due so it's not enough time to mail it in. To pay over the phone takes hold time. I tried to make a payment yesterday still did not work.

You getting on them fix the problem so far. Now hopefully it works when I try to pay my car note this month. They did try to contact me I talked to someone one time. The other times she was in the office till 2pm only 10 minutes more after she called and left a message. I can't always answer my phone at work.

This bank was informed to issued checks to MEPCO, for CarShield account. 7 Nov 2022 an entry was made by MEPCO and paid by the bank on the same day the bank issued a check to said company for same amount. 8 Nov 2022 bank issued two more checks to said company one for one account and the other for another account. 9 Nov 2022, bank issued another set of checks to said company for same accounts. This issue was brought to the attention of bank at which time heated disagreement between myself and manager at bank. Manger at bank told me if I did not like it there is door. I immediately left and proceeded home and called customer service department spoke to and individual by the name *******, who informed me that it would corrected and no additional fee would be assessed. As of this date this situation has no response or action taken to correct the problem. Account was also assessed insufficient funds fee. This is totally a bank error and they show no desire to correct the issue. At three payments $89.99, $89.99 and $99.00 to include Insufficient Funds $32.00 needs to be returned to my account.Business Response

I have read the attached document and yes somethings have been taken care . However one item still needs to address: check on Nov 9 still has been found nor turned to which there is no number assigned to present to anyone and several times this has been reported. Pleas see attachedseveral times it has been reported and an individual by the name of **** shared he did the paperwork to conduct inquiry. As far as branch manager in **************** tells a client that Id you dont like the way handle this there is the door. You need some additional help

Associated bank trust department lied about profit taxes and selling of stocks. Associated bank trust department wanted to diversify my associated bank wealth department portfolio after ten years. Why would a company diversify an account they already took care of? Were they not doing their job? Why did they take money out leading to unwanted taxes when they could have traded stocks without having profit taxes. Dont let associated bank get you! ********************* will tell you anything to benefit from you. Why would a middle age man want to pay profit takes so young? The emails from the 9th and 18th of August were not regulatory emails, and therefore I do not want to receive them. I don't even own an iPhone, which was shown in the email. Either way, I do not want any contact from your bank other than legally mandated emails/disclosures. As a customer, ********************** owes that to me since it's not a very difficult request.
