Ordered a set of cylinder heads on 4/28/2022 for $775.84 on Order #*****. Called them in late June to inquire status, told there had been a delay in receiving bare heads from manufacturer. Called back in July, was told they were running behind but that I should have my heads in "a couple of weeks". Called in August, was told they had experienced delays due to employee illness, would ship heads "in a couple of weeks". Called in November and told them I wanted to cancel the order, was told this was not possible because they had already completed machine work and were just waiting on assembly, would ship them to me just after Thanksgiving. Called on 12/13/22, was told my heads were next in line, that they would ship just before Christmas. Called on 1/16/2023, was told they thought my heads were up next but would check and call me back. Did not receive a call back. Called back 2/8/23 and was told that they are still waiting on bare heads and was unsure of delivery. Not sure of what they had been machining and working on for the past 6 months. Offered to rework heads I had at home, told them I wasn't interested, just wanted a refund. They said they would refund and I gave them my credit card to process. Called on 2/14/2023, was told cancel order had been processed and I should see my refund in a few days. Called on 3/1/2023, gave them the credit card number again and was told they would call the book keeper and process my refund. Called back on 3/2/2023 to verify, was told they had "pushed through" my refund and should see it in "a day or two". Still haven't received my refund. Will be charged a 20% cancellation fee, which I feel is unjust considering all they have done is answer the phone and make up excuses and prevarications for work they didn't even do, but at this point just want some amount of refund so I can be done with this. It has been over 10 months dealing with what should have been a simple transaction. I just want my refund.Business Response

As our cylinder head castings are now over 2 1/2 late to us from our foundry and I cannot give you a concrete date when the heads will ship; we will process your full refund today.

I purchased a vw long block motor for **** dollars on April 7, 2022. They told me that delivery would be approximately 20 weeks. It has been 11 months. I have been in contact with them numerous times and they always have a reason why it is not ready. They always give me a later date. They told me this time it would be at the end of February. I have requested refund after 11 months but their policy no refunds after 30 days. Would like product or refund. ThanksBusiness Response

Yes, we are very far behind on some orders due to parts shortages. We have been waiting for our cylinder heads to be poured at our foundry here in ********* for the last 8 weeks. I have been told, again, that they will be made next week.

I have waited this long with many different reasons given. This should not take a year. I have never been contacted by anyone regarding my order. I always have called and asked. Would like refund but will close out complaint when delivering .

Yes sir, I 100 agree that this shouldn't take as long as it has but many factors that go into our engine building that are completely out of our control. We are taking 250+ parts that are manufactured in 20 different countries and building engines for cars. I have been doing this my whole life, starting at 12 years old and I am now 45. This has been the most difficult 3 years ever. Over 50% of the businesses that do what we do went out of business. We are still here due to our strict quality control and testing before we ship.

This company is a ripoff! I ordered a complete VW engine from this company on September 15, 2021. It has been fully paid for. Supplier does not answer my calls or e-mails. The amount paid in full of $6,298 includes the cost to ship the engine to me in ******** by air freight. When placing the order, I was advised that it would take about 6 months to produce my engine. It has been 14 months. I would like to have my money refunded. No more false promises!Business Response

Yes, I sincerely apologize for the delays. Many of our engines have been severely delayed due to lack of parts availability at different times, labor issues, etc. You are currently #8 on my production board(meaning the 7 people above you ordered and paid for their engines before you did) and we have 70 to build after yours.
In 55 years being in business, we have never failed to deliver an engine that was ordered.
When we finish assembly, we will be sending you a video of the engine test run and confirming your shipping address.
Again, I do apologize for the delay.

The supplier asked for my final payment last August 9th. Told me that they would finish up my order in 3-4 weeks. So I sent in the balance. That was 4 months ago. Seems that this company has no idea when they will finish up an engine. I would like to see more than just promises. How about some documentation to back it up?

The best documentation I can give is that we have been in business for 55 years building vw aircooled engines, which is longer than any other company currently building engines.

For your reference, details of the offer I reviewed appear below.Our response would have been that regardless of how many years that they have been in this business, they need to complete the transaction that was initiated back on September 15, 2021. Either refund the money that I have paid or send me the engine as promised. They should have a work sheet for this engine with a check list of what parts they have and the ones that they are still waiting for. I have asked them to stamp my engine number in the case as this is required to import this engine into ********. I expect to see the finished engine that they bench test showing this number to confirm that the video is of my engine.I am sorry that I am being so distrustful of this company. But their customer service, or last thereof, and delayed production time does not install confidence in the product that they are offering.Its well past time to finish my engine and ship it to me.Initial Complaint

I placed an order to buy a new VW engine on 04/12/2021. As of this date (10/06/2022) I still have not received my product, I have placed dozens of phone calls and emails only to be given excuses and lies about why its taken so long to complete my order. I have exhausted efforts with the exception of contacting my attorney to file a formal complaint. I was hoping to resolve this issue between the two parties but they miss one deadline after another. They have never proactively reached out to me on the status of my order, I always have to call them or send them an email. They yell at me on the phone like Im the one at issue here because I want my engine. I paid in full including shipping on the day I placed this order on their website ( $3,464.00) . On the website they said orders couljd take 4-6 week or longer but approx 72 months later I still have nothing at all from them. The two owners (**** and *********************) have not been responsive and I want my engine or a full refund.Customer Answer

I placed an order for a VW motor from these folks back on 6/14/2021. I have still not received my motor. I started calling the business in November 2021 and began to receive nothing but excuses. I would call about once a month and would get the same excuses or I would be told that I would get a call back from the owner for an update. I have never received a call back.I called shortly after the one year **** of me placing the order. I tried to ask for a refund and was told they do not give refunds on motor orders. I asked to talk to the owner and was put on the phone with ***. *** told me my motor was the oldest on his motor list and would be ready to ship on Thursday of that week.
