Absolute garbage company with garbage products and garbage customer service. We spent over 100K on one of their battery backup systems. It has had numerous problems and recently just quit working. There are almost no field techs and when you finally get one to come out they have to wait on the phone for two hours just like I did for factory tech help. None of these people, who are trying to make a living, have time for this. When the tech does finally talk to someone (when the stars align several days later) they are no longer at your unit. Not only that, but the techs at Generac are either incompetent or impotent (depending on which one you get). Either way nothing gets done and they never call you back to update you.A word on the BBB. Wake up you fools! This company averages one star but you give them an A+ rating!? I guess they paid you off well enough.

Based on a mailer I received, it looks like Generac had an issue with one or more of its generator models. When I called to inquire about this, they told me that if they found a problem, they'd fix it for free, but if they didn't I'd have to pay $80. However, when I asked what specific models this impacted, they were unable to answer. When I asked if they had sent a safety notice to us, they couldn't answer. At a minimum, their communications seem poor. At worst? They want me to pay for a mistake they made. Like car recalls, if there is an issue, the manufacturer should pay. why should I subsidize your issue, Generac?

My General generator was installed in June. We live in an area where the lights go out every time it’s rains. I have really bad health issues. One being I don’t sweat. We live in Mississippi. I no longer sweat. It only came on once. The installer has done all her good. I advise anybody that has health problems to rethink one of these generators to do research . This is the same problem that another person had. Our generator where installed around the same time.

I have a Generac 25 kw generator. I have the misfortune of discovering, if you have one of their generators not under warranty you are screwed. And if you own a liquid cooled generator which mine is you are really screwed if you live in Kansas at least. I haven't investigated other states, but in Kansas all of the certified techs are for air cooled devices only. Now there are those that'll tell you they will take a look. Then come out spend the day troubleshooting, charge you, say they need to check on some things then you never hear or see them again. Then there's the only company apparently between Kansas and Missouri that has a certified liquid cooled generator tech, but they want 1000.00 just to make the trip. Yes you read that right a 1K trip charge. Now considering at this point they are my only option I'm finding in the Tri-state area, (Kansas, Missouri, Iowa) I can get to come out that is certified to do the work. Given how I've been mistreated and/or gauged for payment with no results. Why should I trust after paying 1000.00 trip charge I won't be left with a non- functioning generator. Oh I forgot to mention I've had this issue since June of last year, and my generator is a 2015 model so not that old. If you live in any of the 3 states I've mentioned I would not consider Generac. If I had to do it again I would go with Kohler or Cummings. They actually have an aftermarket warranty system that's reasonable, and they offer extended warranty on their products. I made the mistake of assuming, and you know what's said about assumptions, and that's on me. But I assumed when I bought my generator from the company in Connecticut that was selling it, because it was still under warranty, they said it would transfer, then I could just get an extended warranty. Well bad assumption, Generac warranty per them don't transfer and no extended warranty is available. And apparently no company thinks enough of them to offer an extended warranty.

The Generac website states a estimated installation cost of $2,000. Two Installers have quoted me approximately $7000 for the installation. One installer says they complained to Generac about the misleading advertising with no results. This has been a complete waste of time. Thanks Generac.

I had a fellow contractor tell me about your equipment but this has been a very bad experience. First thing the more was shipped with one wheel inflated and the other wheel deflated with the air stem facing outward and on the other wheel it is facing toward the engine. What work made this experience worse, the tire had a puncture and it was deflated. If it was just an air issue that would’ve been OK but when I called and spoke with a Bryan, he was very rude and told me That he was doing me a favor by ordering me another tire. I stayed on the phone for over an hour cause I asked for a return and then they told me I would be responsible for shipping cost cost of $300 to return the mower. I called back and talk with Deb who was very courteous and assisted me and getting a replacement tire expeditiously, at that time I told her I would keep the mower. After finally putting oil and gas in the mower it started up fine but then when I push the lever to operate the transmission it is not functioning. I hate that I purchase this mower and it has been nothing but a headache from day one! Kalor ********
