      I have two generators sitting in my garage. Both went out right after the warranty expired. Never buying another, and I will let everyone know it!

      Found an authorized dealer on the Generac Web site. Contacted the dealer, got a proposal, liked it, gave the dealer $14,850 for the generator, and that was over a year ago. Never got the generator. Called the company numerous times and they refused to provide me information about my purchase, claiming that Generac is not responsible for their authorized dealers and I would have to talk to the dealer. Dealer gave me the run-around and avoided me. Beware, Generac does not qualify their Dealers and their customer service is non-existent. I had to send a demand letter to the dealer and threaten them with a law suit for them to refund my money. Thus far I only got half back from the dealer. It looks like I will have to go to court to get the rest of my money back. What a scam this turned out to be.

      Ordered a generator , called them to find they had wrong transfer switch listed so informed new account rep we wanted whole house transfer switch . She said she had to send email and never got it ! So she sent wrong one knowing it was wrong ! And had a terrible attitude ! Hope generator works better than there crappy rep!!!!!

      The prospects are not encouraging. I just had my electrician install a new 10 KW Generac house power backup generator. When we needed a pass-code to set up the generator, I tried to "register" it according to the company email. The procedure got stuck in an endless loop, with the little dial just going "round and round" on the screen of my PC. I called, and fortunately, was able to have someone pick up after about 10 or 15 minutes. Giving them the serial number of the generator, they got me a 5-digit passcode that allowed my electrician to do the settings, and test everything out. It appears to be working. That part is good. Then I tried to get on-line to set up a customer account, with zero luck. On the telephone service number for "Mobile Link", after some loud, obnoxious music and some reassuring advertisement blurbs, a voice came on, and said my estimated wait time would be 11,217 minutes (that's 7 days, 18 hours and 57 minutes). Wow! Is this good customer service, or what. I'm not seeing a whole bunch of 5 star reviews, so now I'm really worried about my multi-thousand dollar purchase of a Generac Unit. Oh, by the way, the unit itself appears to be professionally manufactured, and looks very nice. If customer service would just match the looks, this would be a 4 or 5 star rating, rather than a poor review.

      I have had several dealings with Generac and none of them are good. Their customer service is horrible. I purchased 2 x GP2200I generators. One of them came in damaged. They told me to take it to one of their service centers. None of the service centers listed near Denver will take their product. In essence they have no service centers near Denver. I returned the defective unit to Amazon. I purchased another unit. This time from Walmart. The unit appeared to be a used and repackaged unit. Was this Walmart or Generac? TBD I then tried for a year to purchase a parallel kit. They were unavailable. When Generac got them in they sold them on E-bay instead of fulfilling existing orders. I finally got the parallel kit. I did not immediately try the unit. When I did try it the unit did not work. I tried again to use their repair center network and nobody would touch the unit. Generac refused to stand behind their product because it was outside of the 90 day warranty. Try and find the warranty! The warranty page on their website says to look in the owners manual. Their is no warranty information listed in the owners manual for the parallel kit. It's not even listed on the warranty page for the generator. It's listed in the small print on the sales brochure for the generator. I feel like they are a horrible company who does not care about their customers. Be afraid! Be very afraid! I hope they go out of business!

      I have had a 22kw Generac for about five years. It has cost me several hundred dollars a year in maintenance. I have had to replace the mother board because of ants. Its outside, of course ants can get in! Right now I have no power because oil is spraying out of the oil pressure sensor. I had called for service a week ago and cant get anybody to come. The generator is unreliable and so is the service and warranty.

      I have called Generac for them to fix there PVRSS Lockout system. I have tried calling 3 times and have had terrible interactions with the employees saying even though its their equipment that they refuse to send a technician out to fix the issue. I have been paying for this and do not know how long my system has not been working. I would just like them to fix their equipment.

      Generac uses shady tactics.They send out a 10 year warranty promotion in order to get, it must be purchased by 9-25-22 in the vey fine print where you need a microscope to read, it states must be up and running by 12-4-22. Nobody can commit to that with long lead times, permits and inspections. Beware of this company.

      We purchased our Generac Generator in 2019. They sent us a correspondence in August 2022 asking if we would like to purchase their extended warranty, which we opted for the 10 year warranty. When we received our confirmation in the mail it states that the warranty begins from the date you purchased the unit, which was over 3 years ago. This means the warranty we paid for is only good for less that 7 years, not 10 years. Very misleading! I called the company and they would not change the date to the date we purchased the warranty. I will never buy a Generac Generator ever again.

      After three months of repeated consultations between my Generac certified tech and the Generac tech service support folks who sold us thousands of dollars of replacement parts that were not necessary, a simple magnetic sensor replacement resolved an over speed problem with my 48kw home generator. This appears to me to be an incompetent or deliberate means for Generac to sell expensive parts rather than resolve problems efficiently and at least cost Don W.
