Air Canada's customer service department is the worst in the world and I would give them a 0 rating if I could. I have contacted them 5 times since 7/3/24 about an issue using my $2130 travel credit for flights from ** ********* to ********* and I have yet to receive a ***ly!On 7/2/24, I spoke to an Air Canada customer service *** named ****** about using my $2130 credit for 2 one way flights from ********* to *********. ****** told me that the travel credit for my canceled Dubai flights ( due to the war between Israel and Hamas) included nonrefundable foreign taxes and that I had to pay an additional $1422 for the flights. I told ****** that my sister in law, ******, was able to use the entire $2130 travel credit, that she received for the same canceled Dubai flights, for her and her husband's LaGuardia to ********* flights! He was unable to explain the reason and I had no choice but to book the new flights for an additional $1422!!On 7/3, I emailed the Air Canada CEO, ******* ******** and am awaiting a ***ly.On 7/16, I filled out the recommended customer complaint form, Case #: **************, about the above issue and am awaiting a ***ly.On 8/25, after our LaGuardia to Anchorage flights, Air Canada asked for feedback and I complained again about the above issue and got no ***ly!On 8/30, I responded to an earlier Air Canada email and said "It's been over 1.5 months! When will I get a ***ly?I'm highly frustrated with Air Canada!!***** ****

Ive been trying to get a refund for cancelling my flight due to the looming Air Canada pilot strike. Every time I call the help desk, I get a different answer. The last agent told me I had no choice but to accept the amount in an Air Canada wallet credit, claiming it was like cash. However, it turns out it cant even be used for Air Canada vacations. Now, I cant get my money back or apply it to a credit for Air Canada vacations. Ive been trying to reach someone who can help, but so far, no luck. If anyone at Air Canada is listening, please treat your customers like customers. This situation is awful.

On August 3, 2024, Air Canada (AC) canceled our return flight from *** to ***. I received a text/email messages at 1049 hours. AC indicated they would communicate with us in thirty (30) minutes regarding rebooking our flight home. AC did send another message in 30 minutes, only to state they were still working on rebooking our flight. We never heard from AC again that day. Our travel agent found out that we were rebooked for an August 5th flight, which was canceled by us and our travel agent. I did get a text message on August 4th, reminding me to do our "pre-flight check-in", even though we canceled our rebook flight for August 5th. The reason for the cancelation was "Weather". This was the second day AC canceled flights. Our flight was scheduled to leave *** at 1350 hours and land at *** at ************************************************************************** *** or PHL. PHL was due to have a storm between ********* hours, on August 3rd, according to family that live in/around PHL. An American/Qatar Airline flight was still scheduled to leave *** and land in *** at 1600 hours. ******* agents seemed to question the reason for cancelling flights. "Weather" is a great excuse because "it's out of their control" and AC doesn't have to provide for food vouchers or accommodations for passengers stranded at the airport. My wife and I booked a Greyhound bus to get back to ***.

After our worst flying experience in 40+ years we wrote to Canada Air and got no response. Our 4pm flight from ****** was delayed over 20 times during the course of the day and finally cancelled at 10:15 pm. We were given unusable food vouchers ($45) as alleateries were closed. We had to leave our gate and collect our luggage to get rescheduled on another flight and stay awake on hard chairs in the ticketing area until 3AM to go back through security AGAIN. We were offered motel vouchers, but would have only gotten 3 hours of sleep before checking in for our rescheduled flight at 5am (assuming we could have negotiated cab and motel transport in a foreign language. After no food in 16 hours we were able to grab a quick muffin before our flight. We planned to use the vouchers in ******* but after going through security and customs our gate was closing as we arrived, so... another 5 hour leg without eating or sleeping. We arrived in ***** more than 12 hours after scheduled and tried to use the food vouchers again. This time we were told they were in Canadian dollars (not **), so were not acceptable. At baggage claim we found that at reticketing, our bags had only been checked to ******* and not our final Vegas destination. They were finally delivered to our home 3 hours away the following evening. We lost our reservation at our *********** the night before ($62). We had to pay for an extra day of parking ($18). We had now arrived on a holiday so there were no motels available in ***** and we had to drive 3 hours to our home in ***********. We were exhausted after 24 hours of no sleep and only one muffin and there was no way we should have been driving.According to the *** regulations they say that the compensation owed is $1000 per person if arrival is more than 9 hours late. We were more than 12 hours late. And then not to receive a response to our written complaint? Never again!

We flew to ***** ***** from ****** on Air Canada in Aug 2024. The flights were fine but picking up our baggage in ****** at the end of our trip was a nightmare after a long travel day. Our flight landed at 10:30pm but we didn't get our bags until 12:30am! We were waiting for our bags for over 1.5 hours. I'll definitely avoid using Air Canada from ****** in the future.

I had gifted two ways ticket for me and my husband but we decided to push the trip. I called air canada to ask about this and they said itll be $100 change fee, but they didnt tell me it costs both ways which would be $200 per person and plus the taxes and fees. Now we wanted to book trip but it doesnt make sense to pay these fees and stuff which would be almost same as buying a new ticket. We could even buy cheaper ticket from different airlines. Our gift from our friend is just gone like this just because people from the air canada is incompetent. They shouldve explained all the fees and both ways change fee. People would make different decisions if thats the case! Very very disappointing!!!

We booked through Air Canada ********* ** to ***** *******. We got delayed in ****** ******* for more than 24 hours. We arrived at the gate more than 45 minutes but they closed the door and was rude to us. We later found out that they reported us as no show and their partner Air Croatia was late. They were 1 minute late. I hardly call that late. I found out they do this purposely so they can take on more customers and leave Air Croatia with paying for us to get home on another air line. And a milk run. Their staff was absolutely rude and would not a rebate or answer my complaint direct to them. Bad business practices.

My 17 year old nephew was travelling to ******* via ******** (from ********). The flight was returned to ******** in the night because of a storm. Air Canada did not helped my nephew even though he is a minor. They told him to sleep in a chair. The next flight was booked for 3pm next day with a stop in *******. This is extremely disappointing and cruel to do this to a minor. He is going to try to find a hotel and his parents expect air Canada to refund this, plus other expenses while he waits for the next flight.

NEVER FLY AIR CANADA! They cancelled our flight last minute, less than 24 hours before check in; and all of their solutions to rebook us force us to fly with other airlines which are going to force us to incur fees they wont compensate us for. Their solution replace our direct flight with a connecting flight that will cause us to effectively lose a day of our trip. They dont care about their passengers.

I booked my flight in the being of the year. Before I left I received an email saying my return will be changed from June 30 to July 1. I have paid extra money to have myself, husband and daughter seat together by the window. On June 30 I received another emailing saying my flights have been changed again to July 2nd and my seats are not by the window. They put my 3 years old daughter by herself and both my husband and me together. In the airplane they were able to change it but put all 3 off use in the middle row not the window. I want from a 9 plus hour flight to almost a 12 year flight. Never again will I fly with air canada again.
