Currently sitting on Westjet flight 227 on my way to ********. A flight attendant named Kaj has been ignorant af since ce we boarded, treating my elderly travel companion very is such an ignorant manner. I'm also traveling with my partner and our son - and feel we are are experiencing homophonic attitudes from both Kaj and his female colleague. Terrible service. This used to be our favorite airline. I only gave 1/5 because it would not except 0/5 but that would be my honest rating so far. Do better Kaj!!! Hire better people, Westjet!

Booked two passengers, Westjet purposefully puts you in separate seats so youll have to pay for seat selection. Thats over $200 both ways. Obvious ripoff. Usually go ****** and will stick with them in future.

THE MOST OPPRESSIVE EXPERIENCE OF OUR TRAVEL HISTORY! Westjet denied us boarding at the **************** due to our pets carrier size - exceeded in length by 3 INCHES! No acknowledgement that we were approved by the counter agent and the fact that we have travelled with the same carrier for almost 4 years. The ground staff stalled us, did not offer options for us to still rectify our flight, laughed/chuckled while speaking in a foreign language as I cried in front of them, and lastly, did not advise us that the plane was leaving when we were under the impression that they were trying to explore options with us. We asked if they could assist with rebooking - staff did not want to help as we simply purchased their ultra basic fair. Implementing that a different service treatment might be done if we had purchased a business class?? Abuse use power, abuse use of discretion, oppressive, and discriminatory behaviour are what we experienced. We went back to speak with another Westjet manager who laughed at the situation, initially refused to provide her name, and said so do you expect the plane to just wait for you? .. unprofessional and rude in my opinion. These are what was experience from ground staff.. is this what ****** Corporate Values represent? If so, please take this review as a guide to make better decisions when selecting your travel carrier, especially if you are wanting to protect your mental health. We have never felt low, defeated, humiliated, and oppressed by a travel corporation in the past. Attached is the photo of our carrier the treatment we received was unjust over a 3 inches difference we lost significant money in hotel, car rental, show prepaid tickets, and dog sitter. Its been 3 days and our luggage is still not found (it was a DIRECT flight). The trauma can never be erased or compensated. Our experience with westjet has SIGNIFICANTLY worsened our mental health affecting our day to day for the past 3 days.

Disgusting. Looking at vacation packages. Decided on one for $5320. Went to book it about hour later, price was 5420, half hour after that 5920. Thought it was a glitch. Next night, price was 6940. So, westjet has an algorithm that somehow keeps your IP address and uses algorithm to manipulate/rip you off on price. Beyond Disgusting

Ive never been so furious with an airline in my life. WestJets customer service is an absolute joke. I was running a little late to the airport due to an accident on the highway (something totally out of my control). I arrived at 7:45 AM for a 9:10 AM flight PLENTY of time to check in, go through security, and board. But no, WestJet had other plans to ruin my day. When I got to the check-in line, the greeter had the nerve to tell me to check in online. I tried, but the system wouldnt let me because I missed the cut-off. So, I asked her for help. She laughed in my face and said I had missed it by TWO MINUTES. TWO! But no worries, she said. Just go to the desk, theyll help you.Well, that was a blatant lie. When I got to the desk, the girl and the so-called supervisor smugly informed me that I wasnt allowed to get on the flight because I was "outside their protocol window." Are you kidding me? Im standing right there, with plenty of time to get through security, and they flat out REFUSE to let me ******** make matters worse, they tell me they changed their baggage rules in June, so now I cant even bring two carry-ons, even if I pay for it! The result? I was denied boarding, even though the plane wasnt leaving for OVER an hour. I had to call their *** twice, reach out on Instagram, and still, nothing. They expect me to PAY IN FULL for a new flight, with absolutely zero compensation.WestJet, youve lost a customer for life. This is beyond unacceptable. You clearly dont care about your customers, and your protocols are just an excuse for bad service. Absolutely pathetic.

Worst airline experience of my lifetime (I'm 68yo). Am experienced traveler and tech-savvy but will never fly with WestJet again. Every single interaction from time of booking in July to flights in Sep/Oct were a total nightmare. Their phone line is ALWAYS unavailable unless you call at what is middle of the night in Calgary AB and wait times exceed 90mins (longest I was willing to wait). It's nearly impossible to reach a representative to speak with. Their chat function is nonexistent/non-functional. Their website is poorly designed and essentially nonfunctional. It never showed my flights unless I followed multiple links to find it and did not correctly log my flights on my Rewards account afterwards. Website would not accept payment for seats, changed my carefully planned seats (with another family member traveler) more than once without notice, then changed the plane for my final cross-continental flight to one with NO services (no wifi, no power at seats, no seat-back entertainment/screen). App also useless as would not accept check-in so had to wait in lines and seek assistance at gate agents to get boarding passes. 100% amateur performance all around. Recommendation: DO NOT EVER BOOK with this airline!

Good luck getting anywhere on time with westjet. And when youre late and you submit to the CTA, they will ignore you as much as they can. Apparently staffing isnt their fault.

My wife and I are seniors (78 & 83) that were travelling from ** to ** with assisted wheelchair travel on August 24th, direct Westjet flight ***. We were boarded in ** with no issues. Once on the flight we discovered the power outlets did not work to keep phones charged to use the Entertainment App. The biggest issue we encountered was upon arrival to AB, there was no wheelchair available, we waited approximately 30 mins (after multiple calls by the *******), leaving only us and the staff on the plane. Finally a wheelchair arrived, and we were taken to an area to wait for a shuttle to the luggage area. The person who assisted took the wheel chair with them when we arrived at the area, where we again waited approx. 30 mins for a shuttle. Once on the shuttle we realized it was not stopping directly at the luggage area, we were dropped at a shuttle stop which was a long distance away from the luggage area. We no longer had a wheelchair and had carry on luggage to attend to. The whole point of getting ***** chair assistance was to get us from our home base to our family at the pickup location of the luggage area. This was unacceptable service as my wife is barely able to walk.

This airline is now impossible to contact. They do not offer support through email or chat, and wait times on the phone are regularly over an hour. On August 6th I was informed that my business flight had been cancelled, and would be rescheduled within two hours. This did not happen. I called into the queue and was on hold for 2 hours and 9 minutes before I gave up. My business's travel agency was also unable to get through to contact them, and the "we'll call you back!" form was quoting times for 48 hours AFTER my fight had left. I gave up and booked a new flight, as I am legally entitled to a full refund for a flight that the airline has changed or cancelled. The next day I received an email that my (surprise!)connecting flight departure time had changed - at some point Westjet had rebooked me and never informed me. Again it was impossible to contact them to change or cancel this, and obviously I could not take the new flight. Now, 20 days later, they still have not refunded me the cost of the ticket and my business travel agency STILL cannot contact them to resolve the issue. I assume Westjet is running a skeleton staff call center to improve their profit margins and isn't intentionally scamming people, but this is unacceptable. The only reason they're in business is that there's often no other option in Canada. The government needs to step in and sanction/fine this behavior, it's completely unacceptable.
