The dryer on my washer / dryer combo began making noise and Coast Appliance's in **********, ON created a repair visit where the technician noted the dryer exhaust fan broke at the drive shaft.He reported that he replaced the blower fan and a few days later a different noise started coming from the dryer.I decided to open it up myself and saw that the replacement fan was also damaged around its rim. Either the repair tech used a damaged part for the repair, or the part was damaged during the repair and not fixed (he walked away).Customer Answer

I bought a Bosch dishwasher from Coast Appliances on January 2, 2024. When it was delivered on February 23, 2024, it didn't work. When a repair person looked at it on March 18, I was told it needed a new electrical panel and the part was to be back ordered. Since the dishwasher doesn't work and to repair it would result in a re-built machine rather than a new one, I requested a refund. Coast refused to refund me and also would not help facilitate a return and refund with the manufacturer. As of April 4, it's still sitting in my home unusable.Business Response

My husband and I purchased a range on January 8, 2024 for delivery on January 10, 2024. The purchase amount was $2,293.19. We received the range on January 10, 2024 as promised, only to find the oven racks were missing once we opened the oven. I contacted Coast Appliances on the 11th who then contacted their parts provider (Reliance Parts) to ship the racks to us. I received an email today, January 17, 2024 stating it would be another 5-10 business days before the oven racks would be delivered. Coast Appliance has taken zero responsibility for not delivering the entire order. Zero compensation or alternate solutions have been provided. They have stated they are the dealer and it should be up to the manufacturers warranty to provide any compensation. We were ensured delivery on January 10th and here we are, 7 days later than promised only to be told it would be another 5-10 business days. This is completely unacceptable.Business Response

I am rejecting this response because:The range was delivered January 10, 2024. Upon contacting Coast Appliances, zero solutions were provided for this. I was told to contact the manufacturer as theyre just the dealer. In what world does a business that sells products not provide the customer with the entirety of the purchase? The racks being delivered 19 days after purchase is completely unacceptable. Half the range was unusable for that period of time. We would like compensation for that time lost.

Purchased a ******** dishwasher in late 2021 arriving early 2022 with a one year manufacturer warranty together with an extended 2 year warranty. To summarize, it has been 2 weeks and note little to no movement of the warranty service other than to have a tech come out, diagnose the problem and claim they need approval from the insurance provider to authorize the ordering of the part. The service provider was upgraded by Coast Appliances to **** appliance instead of ***** ******. The insurance people have yet to receive **** appliances' request for approval of a part. It has been 6 days since **** has communicated anything to the insurance provider according to **** at the insurance warranty office a few moments ago. And I have tried to contact ***** again who is the manager at the local Coast Appliances who is now not even taking my calls. He made it sound so promising when I first spoke to him about my frustration about this, but he has fallen short of assisting in this matter as well. Anyone reading this should really hesitate about buying anything from Coast Appliances for fear of possibly discontinued models and or discontinued parts in the appliance you purchase, so get it in writing before you purchase and beware of the warranty as in my view, waiting close to 2 weeks to find out that it is a simple heating element (which by the way was very difficult to find according the **** appliance tech - not sure if it is the right one or something that *** work) and still no movement on the repair. Lots of stories, lots of promises - none of them are accurate. Not sure if my dishwasher will ever get repaired, or when. We use the dishwasher every day.Business Response

I purchased a total of 5 appliances at the same time from Coast Appliances in ***************. On delivery of the appliances, all units were fine and appear to be operating except for the clothes washing machine. The sales person, ***************************, neglected to tell me the unit was a European model with not all expected North American features. I requested a return and refund of the unit as he was only able to provide a replacement unit for a higher price point. The unit was never installed. After multiple emails, ****** confirmed he would take the unit back and provide a refund. The unit was picked up by Coast delivery persons and there was no damage to the unit at pick up noted or documented on the pick up delivery notice. After pick up, I requested confirmation of the amount and timing of my refund. I was told that the refund would be once the warehouse received the unit and confirmed it was not damaged or used. The very next day, I requested confirmation that the refund would be processed and subsequently received an email with a photo of the unit with damage to it and told this is how the unit was received by the warehouse. The damage was absolutely done in transit under the care of the Coast delivery persons. ****** now claims that I will not receive a full refund due to the damage.Business Response

Purchased new ********** washer and dryer Nov 15 from Coast Appliances $2684.92 dealer *********************Machines delivered Nov 21, unboxed in truck and placed in our laundry room. Installed Nov 21 by owners Dryer is not functioning properly making extremely loud grinding noise, drum stiff to turn, and side panel dented Nov 22 Coast follows up stating a claim has been registered and a technician will come within 5days (service number 302568).Nov 23 apx ****, technician arrives from *************************** third party hired by Coast Appliances. Technician was unprofessional, and had no idea what was wrong with the machine. Technician cut his hand and got blood all over our floors and dryer. Inappropriate comment made about being clean after testing himself due to his w**** ex wife. Nov 24 at ****, coast appliances customer service line was called for an update and requesting a replacement dryer. Coast states they can not assist us, they sent a technician and now this is a manufacturing issue passed on to **********. I stated this is not acceptable and was told this is there policy if they returned every machine the would be out of business. I asked what would happen next and he said someone from ********** will be in contact. Nov 24 at apx **** we call ****************** number and provided the serial number. They had no information about our case! ********** agent told us that as long as we notified Coast within 48hrs that the machine is not working, a new machine needs to be sent out. The ********** agent also told us we have been lied to by Coast Appliances!If I didn't call Coast myself, and then **********, it is likely no would have followed up with us and we would be sitting here with a broken dryer machine for even longer! This is unacceptable. We have purchased brand new machines. And the dryer is not working. We need a replacement unit and Coast Appliances, as a dealer should be replacing the defective and sending to the manufacturer.Customer Answer

Buyer beware!I ordered a range on October 2nd 2023. I was told that the range would arrive around the 26th of october. It kept getting pushed back and back and after many times remaking appointments with the installers it arrived on November 9th. I had asked multiple times to have the orifices for an lp conversion included and checked in multiple times after ordering. I was assured that it would be. Now finally installers arrive and there is no lp comversion kit. They are charging another ****************************************************************************************************************** their house. Coast is refusing to take responsibility and to make sure the orifices come so not only am i waiting another month or so for orifices to come but now i am searching and ordering a new set and expected to pay for a new set. Pay for the appt for the installers to come back and adjust money for the tenants who have NO stove. I will never buy from coast again and suggest that no one else does either.Initial Complaint

In June 2023, I purchased a 36" fridge and when it was delivered, they dropped it on my stairs damaging my hardwood floor, the wall, the railing and my front door. Pictures of the damage were taken at that time and forwarded to ******* Coast Appliances.. After weeks waiting I had not heard from anyone, so I called Coast ******* but was told by the Manager it was not Coasts responsibility???but I had purchased from Coast and they had hired the delivery company. After several more calls to the store manager, the delivery company finally sent ************************* to do an estimate(hardwood floors only) I have not heard anything and no one has been in contact about the other damage .The store manager did not return my phone call from Nov 2nd.. ***** and I spoke in Dec 2023 and I advised her that the team will be reaching out to ensure that they work with her on the repair appointments.
There was only one day that was not open for ***** ( Dec 14th ) due to an appointment, but ***** made it easy for the contractors to attend and have

On November 8, 2023 I purchased an ********** Front load washer, dryer, a 6 feet braided hose and 8.0 cu ft ************ kit and 4 year extended warranty. The total was $2,967.78. They were under warranty. Within the last three months the washer was not working and contacted Coast to get it fixed. They told my wife that she had to contact ********** to get it fixed. After several attempts to get service she was finally given the name ***** ****** to come out to fix it. She eventually had a technician from ********* ****, who I guess is ***** ******, come out on November 8, 2023 and all he did was assess the machine and said they had to order parts which would take two weeks. On August 18, 2023 a technician came out and was supposed to have fixed the washer. Next day we tried to use it and it was worse than before. It would not rinse, spin or drain. My wife has called Coast Appliances, ********** and ***** ****** to get service and have been given the run around since July 24, 2023. Due to the fact that my wife is handicapped and it was necessary for us to go to a laundromat several times, we became so stressed that we went and bought another washer, which we could not afford. We did contact the manager of Coast Appliance and basically got no where. I told her I wanted my money back. At that point she contacted ***** ****** and after a while a tech came out to assess the washer. This was on October 14, 2023. He said there were several problems and he would talk with ********** to see what they wanted to do. Again no fix. It is my opinion that because we paid Coast Appliance for this product that they should refund our money.Business Response

Coast Appliances has spoken to the client to ensure they know we are following this carefully. After many attempts to express to the manufacture that the customers unit needed to be fixed they were at first unable to detect the issues and after many attempts with the manufacture/ ********** persisted on wanting to fix when the issues were very detailed and long. Coast service team continued to pursue the manufacture and I communicated with the manufacture that this was not acceptable and than we were given the green light to offer an exchange of the unit. The customer should not have been put through the months of waiting for this unit to be repaired and finally a decision to offer an exchange was honored. The customer decided that a pick up of the defected unit was needed and a refund. The unit was picked up at the end of November and the credit refund was applied to the customers card for ***** and ***************************. Customer requested an exchange or refund. Refund was honored.
