1 starThe experience has been an absolute nightmare: My father had a water leak from his bathtub. I called Enercare on Nov 04/22 and they promptly sent a technician to diagnose the problem. He came and said that he had to order a part in order to fix the leak and that it would take 2-3 weeks. After 3 weeks of wait I called them to find out the status of our order only to be told that they couldn't see anything on his file and they have to contact the technician and they would call me back in 2 hrs. 2 days passed with no calls, so I called again this time they said they're waiting for the part. Again nothing for a week. I called back almost daily telling them that my parents are 89 and ill and need a functioning bathtub. I was told the same thing every time "we'll call u back in 2 hrs" with personal promises. Finally on Dec 07 they called and said that the part will be in on the 14th. So again no calls until mid jan. So, I called to follow up and they told me the file is closed and they had sent the part to our house which was very confusing. Upon asking for an explanation I was a put on hold for 35 mins only to be told that they will call me back within 2 hrs. I insisted that I needed to talk to a manager and was put back on hold for another few mins and then I was told that the manager is in a meeting and will call me back right after the meeting and not only that, I was provided by a case number and was told that theresolution team will call me back within 2 hrs as well. It's been over a week now that I've been waiting for these calls. I guess the manager is still in a meeting. My father has been paying into this ***** ***** insurance for years and this is the service they provide to ill 89 years old people. Almost 3 months of no service. It's absolutely despicable and disgusting. Absolutely no compassion either and they refused to give me the contacts of the manager. Save ur money and call a reliable business in tomes of need.Review fromDonna M

1 starIt’s noon on Friday and ******** has just turned off the gas due to a leak outside at the gas meter. I am advised to call my maintenance people to have it fixed. I immediately called Enercare since I have a plan with them. Agent on the phone said someone would call back in 2 hours to book a service call. Did I mention that it’s winter and -10C? No call back after 5 hours so I called again. Agent was very helpful but there is only so much you can do from Colombia (yes, I asked him where he was). He promised to get someone on it in the morning. Saturday we wake up…it’s 12C in the bedroom!! No call from Enercare. I had to phone another company who got back to me right away and had a service person at our house within the hour. Leak was fixed and heat and hot water were restored. ** ****** *** ******* ******* ** *** ******* ** ******* *** ******** ** ******** *** ********** Oh, it’s now Monday morning and Enercare finally called back almost 72 hours later!! Gimme a break! I had higher expectations of Enercare. They’ve been great with the yearly maintenance but this experience has changed my opinion. Will be taking my business elsewhere for sure.Review fromDenise S

1 starMy contract with Enercare had expired but I was still renting on a month to month basis. The tank started to leak and I called Enercare. I was told the tank was over 15 years old so they would install a new tank instead. I decided to buy a tank instead. I called Enercare to remove the tank. They advised to put it outside and someone would pick up. They continued to charge me on my credit card for three months and nobody picked up the tank. I found out who their contractor was and called them directly. I called Enercare for a refund several times and they always said a cheque was on the way but no cheque came. After several calls they said they had a policy where they don't send out cheques. They said I'd have to provide them banking info via a void cheque and then they could deposit the money into my account. This would involve opening a new account with them which included a service charge. After months of arguing with them and bring passed around from agent to agent they sent me a cheque for $20 much less than they owed. I cut my losses and said good riddance.Review fromSarwan S

1 starI have been a customer of enercare for over 13 years , I have requested enercare for a hot water tank upgrade from tank to tankless. Enercare technician was scheduled to do an assessment but he call and disqualified me without even showing up. The technician told me that I will have to buy the tank out for $4000 which I don’t need . ****** ** ******** *** ***** ********** **** *** * **** *Review fromJoe G

1 starEnercare does not miss a beat to get you frustrated to an undescribable level by making direct contact with decision making individuals impossible. All the contact numbers are pushed around the world in call centres ***** ***** **** ** ***********. People with inability to communicate tell you everything you want to hear, promissing escalations (all the buzz words are there).
I called today 4 timesto get an appointment and have hot water restored, since I had a rental HWT. My first call was on my to work early in the morning, clearly indicated that I will not be at home beforev 1 pm. The call centre attendant indicated that she will escalate to find an appointment for the afternoon which never materialized. I got a call around 11 am from Enercare during a window when I indicated that I am not available. Of course calling back is not sn option for these customer focused home services. In my subsequent calls I even got to speak with a manager Bahr who again promised to escalate. It turned out that he was as deceiving as the other ones. No calls or appointments until my last call just before 10 pm.

1 starI have tried multiple times over 3 years to get my 18 year old water tank replaced and they keep finding excuses why they can’t do it and then cancelling appointments I’ve made without telling me. They have no problem charging me $25 a month though for it… even though apparently after 14 years I own the tank… makes no sense to me. I will be going with another company as their customer service is horrible.Review fromDwight C

1 starThey installed a new boiler with out the knowledge of how to calibrate it. It’s taken many visits to set it up but eventually had to bring in the manufacturer to help them. Spent 4hrs waiting to have a technician look at the pipes then left without doing anything. Pipes were the wrong size. So now I’ve wasted many hours of my time and money on wasted gas consumptionReview fromDAVID D

1 starTHE WORST company I've ever dealt with. They installed but not where we wanted the equipment after we said specifically where we wanted it. Anyway, even that is the least of it. I was paying monthly, but was not receiving bills in the mail every month. Only like every other month, or once it went over two months without receiving a bill. So I had to make payments on what I thought the bill MIGHT be. So I would call every month and ask them what the bill would be, and obviously, it's not like people answer right away. So that got pretty taxing on my sanity, but I had to keep calling because I didn't want this to affect my credit rating. Then, out of the blue, they send me a bill for almost $700. This is after I had called not even two weeks before to make sure I had made the last payment and to assure that my account was at zero. They said they hadn't been charging me properly. How is that my fault?? So I have to now pay a huge bill when I'm already upset with them. Not appropriate by any means. Then I want to do pre-auth for payments. They say that I have to print a form and send it in the mail with card info. After three months, I'm still being billed. NO pre-auth. I finally spoke with a girl named Mea. She allowed me to directly email her my CC info. About six weeks later, I receive calls because they say that I'm now overdue on the last two payments. Again, this is my fault apparently. Also, two weeks after the guy comes for the yearly servicing, there's a leak in the furnace and it doesn't stop running so we have to turn it off. Then I book a day off work. I get the confirm that they will be there between 4-8. He doesn't show. They have to set an appt. for two days later. That guy did show. I just spoke with them about asking them to remove all of the equipment and I will just start over with another company. They say, MY best option is to pay them in full. WOW!! Thank you so much for that. What a blessing. * **** ** **** ** ***** ********* **** ******* *****Review fromJohn A

1 starIn the summer of 2021 I cancelled a fireplace protection plan that I had used once. I was not billed in 2021. Then in June of 2022, I got an email notice saying that my plan would be renewed if I didn't phone to cancel. I did so on June 13 and was told it was cancelled. A few weeks later, someone phoned to set up my inspection appointment. I told her that i had cancelled the plan. She said that she would confirm that and did so. Just to be sure, I called billing and was assured that the plan was cancelled. Then in August, the charge appeared on my ******** bill, not once, but twice! I entered a dispute with ********. Enercare asked me to call them. I did and was assured that the charges would be cancelled. They charges were marked as "resolved by the biller". Two months later, I am still being billed. ******** says that Enercare didn't follow through and "reimburse the charges." I entered another dispute and Enercare is asking me to call them again. ***** *** **** *** *********Review fromRobert G

1 starI owned a condo that was serviced by Enercare. I sold the condo and submitted multiple requests for them to cancel the account, but it was never cancelled. I spent hours on the phone with them, getting passed around to multiple agents who were not communicating with one another. I called in multiple times. Each time, I got the run around and was not properly assisted.
This company is very poorly run, and closing out an account with them is near impossible. ***** ********* **** ****** **** *** **** **** ***** ** ********* ******** ** *** **********
