      I only gave one star because you cant give zero. At the last minute, we decided to rent a car for a couple of days while visiting. The plan was to get the car and get something to eat afterwards. We thought the rate was too cheap to be true but also thought maybe they were just trying to make anything they could with a last minute booking. We waited for almost 45 minutes for a shuttle to arrive when they told us 15. We had landed at the airport at 10pm with our 4 young kids. When we got to the rental company, we noticed everyone else having issues with getting their car or being turned away and the red flags were raised. When it was our turn, the woman at the desk continued to add fees and fees not to our total. I laughed when she added another one, even after we had provided proof of insurance. She looked at me and said, I dont know whats so funny about this. Why are you laughing? You dont have to rent this car. I dont have to let you rent this car. She asked to see our round trip plane tickets and when she saw we wanted it for only a few days she told us we had to rent it for the whole time of our trip or not at all. We said never mind, well just get the shuttle back to the airport. At this point, it was 11:45pm and she smiles, looks at our four kids and says Were closed. We arent taking you back to the airport. My kids had not eaten in several hours since we had been flying and all started to cry. She pushed us outside to lock the door. At that point, my husband convinced the shuttle driver to take us back to the airport where we quickly and easily got a car from Dollar. The woman at Dollar said we were the third family that day who had come to them from the company.This was a horrible experience. Not only a bad review for the company, a formal complaint to the Better Business Bureau, but what kind of a human does that to people? STAY FAR AWAY!

      I reserved a car for 2 days in Atlanta through AARP-Expedia. When I arrived in Atlanta I called Routes for shuttle. The driver promptly arrived. He was very nice and helpful. We got to Routes car rental. There were 2 other people ahead of us that also had reservations. They had NO cars!! Clearly reservations mean nothing to these people. They said because there was some big military graduation and all the cars were taken. So I am not real clear on what the point of a reservation is. The van driver was so kind. He took us back to the airport and gave us suggestions on shuttle service and other car rentals. Most of the other places had no cars either but Budget rental came through for us. Then Routes said that my Reservation expired and therefore I was charged ****** for a no show. This place is a scam. Thats probably why every other car rental has there names posted in the airport except for Routes. I had to file a report with my travel center and wait for an investigation to be done before I might get my money returned. What a scam!! All these good reviews on here must be written by there own employees. I came to Atlanta to bury my mother and now I dont have enough money to get home because I had to rent another car. Thanks Routes for making one of the worst moments of my life even worse!!! If I could give you less stars I would.

      Falsely advertised that they are located at the ***** airport, when they are actually miles away. When I got there they wanted to charge me an extra $33/day on top of the $18/day I originally thought I was paying. When I wasn't willing to pay, they wouldn't refund me the money I had already paid to reserve a rental, saying I had to call the booking agency. When I called the booking agency they let me know that Routes doesn't allow refunds except for 48hours before the rental pickup time.

      1. When you book, they will let you know that you cannot drive outside a 50 mile radius
      2. If you drive outside a 50 mile radius, you will have to pay more ***** ** **** **** **** *** **** *** ** *** *******
      3. *** * **** **** for early morning flyers as they open at 9 am and they don’t have a drop box for you to just drop your keys at
      4. It’s very expensive
      5. Terrible customer service

      Complete thieves is what this business is. I was charged for a rental That they claimed was successfully canceled at the front desk. These people are criminal, very dishonest, and deserve legal action held against them.

      To begin Very poor customer service. No way to get in contact over the phone. Incredibly far from the airport and the bus is unreliable. Also if you book online 100% they will add additional fees to your booking. I spent $263 online and by the time I walked out they had charged me an extra $345. How that is even possible no idea. The extra costs were never explained to me.DO NOT BOOK WITH ROUTES

      It's a SCAM. Advertised rates are NOT real. Terrible service. Took about 3 hours to get my car. Then they make up a story about how your insurance does not cover their "requirements" and you end up paying roughly 4 times what they advertise. My car also had a TERRIBLE cigarette smell, but I did not exchange it because after that much time spent at that place, I did NOT want to spend one more second there. *** at the desk was really sleazy too. Will never go back there again.

      False advertising, bad customer service, very argumentative staff. I paid for a rental thru ******* and when I arrived to get the car they told me that they do not rent to ******* residents and proceeded to disparage ******* and ********* and made it hard to reimburse me my money that I spent. I truly hope the company is restructured ** ****** because the policys and procedures are absolutely unacceptable . The consumer deserves better.

      During my visit to ****** over new years weekend, I rented a car through routes. Much like everyone else I chose this place because of the price as well as the car however something did not sit right with me. I will not be renting a car from them again due to the additional hidden fees and difficulties in getting communication from the company. I was aware of the $500 deposit however, I have been trying to get in contact with them since returning the car about additional fuel charge I received after returning to the airport. While trying to get in contact with a routes representative I kept getting a busy message from the company asking me to leave a message with no voicemail option. Let me be as clear as possible, I went to the gas station before returning it back as I was instructed and they still managed to charge me an additional $28.74 for the two days I rented the car with $8.70 per gallon while gas in ****** is $2.60 at the time I filled the tank.The frustrating part is not only did I fill the tank prior but I waited 45 minutes outside with little direction on where the pick up was for the van to be full having passenger standing and the luggage barely fitting. They also didnt notify me what type of gas was needed for the car and after calling multiple times finally got in touch with someone. After I filled up the tank to at the gas station it stopped to the capacity, so Im getting charged for what they believe isnt a full tank. I cannot fill up the tank physically more than the gas station allows me. This company low rates makes its money from the additional hidden charges. Thank you ****** and the team.

      I reserved a Car through *******. When I went to pick up the car they wanted a major credit card. I provided my ***** They refused it stating it is not a major credit card. Then they cancelled my reservation with no refund. My insurance is both covered under my ******** ******* in addition to my own personal auto insurance. Neither were acceptable. When I asked how much they would normally charge for insurance the reply was 75$ USD per day. * ***** ** ********** ** **** *** **** ** **** ********* ******** ** ***** ** ********** ******* ** *** ********
