      * **** ***** **** ****** *** ** *** *****. I booked a mid-size SUV, At the time I arrived they told me there was no 5-seater car available and the only one left was a long base truck, so either you cancel the reservation or you pay an additional $600+ to upgrade to the 7-seater. And if you want the long base truck, then they will force you to get liability insurance else they won't rent you the car. After the hour-long discussion, I decided to cancel the car. Then they told me you needed to call ******* to cancel the reservation and get your refund from them, but the problem is you can't cancel your reservation due to the 24 hours before arrive. So when you try to cancel the reservation from ******* for me is a car rental, they will reject your cancellation, so basically eat up the money you pay upfront and waste your time to arrive and an hour of discussion and end up with no car for your vacation. Glad that the car rental has the one-time courtesy refund, else I wouldn't even get my refund back, but still ruined my one-week vacation with no car with ***** and ****** * **** ***** **** ***** ** *** ******

      Leaving my car with Routes was very economical and convenient. The cost was great plus the drop off and pickup service was excellent.
      The best compliment about the company is reserved for Kesha who handled my pickup and departure with excellent customer service skills. She should be lauded for an outstanding job.

      This company is ********! They literally ****** me of 255 dollars because I had an Illinois drivers license and they said they don’t help anyone with an Illinois license get a car rental. Very weird!!

      They rental booking is made for unlimited mileage. They say - well local renters only get 200km. No where is the agreement is that mentioned. There is a heavily buried line that says some locations may have different km rates for local. But I booked at a specific location they should have disclosed if it was different.
      Second I booked a compact car. Was asked if I wanted to pay $6 more for a mid-size or could have saved $12 and rented an small SUV. I choose to keep the compact car for minimal gas. Well low and behold, get there and they say they do not actually rent cars. Not that they are out of cars but rather they only rent SUVs. Total bait and switch. Had they disclosed KM and no cars I would have rented elsewhere.

      On October 16,2023 I made an online reservation using my credit card with ********* for car & hotel. When I landed in Atlanta Ga. I was told that my car rental was with Routes Car Rental. I arrived at the location on the date above. The manager took care of me and during the application process I was asked if needed insurance I shared nope. Instead I was force to get insurance but was told all will be removed when vehicle is returned with no damages. Instead I've noticed that a $ 92.26 charge was added where shows minus deposit that again explained don't need and not authorized. I've tried dispute with bank a they can't reach anyone. This company is a joke why would anyone rent from a lot that does business practices like this. All I'm asking is my refund. The card used isn't available anymore being was closed by bank. My transaction if anyone from there office wants to correct this before giving to legal team. # **********

      This company is a complete scam, they advertise one price and make you pay upfront with a card. When you arrive they tell you of over 500 dollars in additional hidden fees. And apparently these hidden fees seem to change depending on the person renting

      routes car rentals is a totally bad option when renting a car you book on line then when you get there they want a 1500 $$ deposit and tell you the is no unlimited milage and tell you that you should of look up the the rental agreement that says locals Albertans don't get unlimited milage and there will be a 1500$$ damage deposit to rent one of their cars. ***** **** i would not recommend them at all

      * ***** **** *** *** ****** **** *** ***** That was my experience. Additionally, my passport card was not accepted as a Real ID, they said my CT license had to be the real ID, BUT I can only legally have one Real ID. Go figure.
      They tried to charge us for myriad insurances which we refused. The clerk got snotty with my wife. When we did the walk around she basically walked away. I walked around the car and made damned sure it was free of damage. It wasn’t, and I showed her the scratch on the vehicle and had her photograph it . Come to think of it, I should have photographed her photographing the scratches.
      I’m not prone to anger, and this experience left me nothing short of livid.
