      It took almost an hour to get to the rental office from *** **! The employee was ****, ill-mannered and flippant.

      * ***** **** *** *** ****** **** *** ***** That was my experience. Additionally, my passport card was not accepted as a Real ID, they said my CT license had to be the real ID, BUT I can only legally have one Real ID. Go figure.
      They tried to charge us for myriad insurances which we refused. The clerk got snotty with my wife. When we did the walk around she basically walked away. I walked around the car and made damned sure it was free of damage. It wasn’t, and I showed her the scratch on the vehicle and had her photograph it . Come to think of it, I should have photographed her photographing the scratches.
      I’m not prone to anger, and this experience left me nothing short of livid.

      Routes refused to let me pick up the rental which I had already paid for. They said because I only had the rental reserved for 2 days but I was in Fl for 4 days. They said I had to have the rental for the entire time if my stay. Their policy says a round trip airfare which includes the rental period is required. My round trip was from Saturday AM to Tuesday PM and my rental was from Sunday morning to Tuesday evening. I talked with multiple people at Routes and hot different answers but they kept saying they would not refund. After almost 4 weeks and after contacting the Florida Attorney Generals office. They have now agreed to refund. From the reviews I’ve read and my personal experience, I think the company is using their poorly written policy as a way to scam people and it is very intentional.

      ::!! C A U T I O N !!:: First they are off airport site. You have to shuttle to their office. They do not allow for "locals" to rent vehicle. My cousin was from Miami and considered "local". The websites let you book it, prepay for the entire rental, then deny you the rental when you arrive at their office. They'll say you're ineligible to rent per policy (the fine print under terms and conditions when you book it). The rep already had the portion of their policy highlighted to show us, so this must happen frequently to other travelers. It's then out of their hands to refund the money and the 3rd party website will not refund either. They also request their mandatory insurance. If you opt to use your own insuranc, a $2500 hold is placed on your card and can be held for up to 20 days! ***READ THEIR FINE PRINT*** B
      This company needs to be looked into for their pay now tactics with no recourse to the consumer to obtain funds back.

      Routes rental car in Calgary charged me $374 for insurance I didn’t need and which I declined at the counter. They would not refund and said I needed to sign a form saying I would not contact my credit card and they would refund in 30 days. Its past 30 days and no refund. ** ***** ** **** ********** ********

      Rented a pickup that had damage on it, they took pictures of damage and when I returned the pickup they charged me to fix the damage $2,500. This was 3 weeks ago, Routes customer service has failed to call VIA phone, there email service is very poor and customer service is non existent. I would not recommend Routes. Denver CO

      0 star. I booked thru Hopper app and as many people said this place is nothing but SCAM!!! First of all took an hour for shuttle waited for 30min when I arrived. Then asked me where I am going to stay and I have to buy toll pass for each day $12.99 I told them don’t need pass because I only need first day and last day of trip and pay with cash, they lied to me toll booth does not accept cash payment, if I don’t buy pass they will charge $50 per a day demands me to sign paper work. And also $500 deposit for credit card, not a debit and they also want to see my insurance card for coverage, I was like noway. Then this female agent told me “ are you going to rent car or not, your booking will expire and you are not get money back” with attitude. So I googled, saw many reviews how they are. DO NOT RENT FROM THIS PLACE!

      I rented from Routes Ottawa for Thanksgiving weekend. When I booked and pre-paid on *******, it was for a car with unlimited mileage. Only once you pay do you get the fine print that unlimited mileage is not available for local residents. Also required a $1500 deposit which took days to remove from my card. Pickup was disorganized and lengthy. Staff was pretty unfriendly - I figured they were tired. Not a big deal. Found out on the spot that ******* listing of unlimited mileage was incorrect - clerk made an adjustment that I appreciated ****** ******* *******. We got on the road the next day and I called Routes to let them know the car was making strange noises at 80 km/h and the oil change light was on. They said no problem, it's safe to drive. So we drove 2 days with a car that shook on the highway. Fine. But, not the relaxing, comfortable trip I thought it would be. The final straw was returning the car on Monday night, as per the contract - the gate closed and locked, even though it is supposed to be open until 8PM and my return time was 7PM. After spending a while trying to get ahold of customer service, I got through, they spoke to someone, and gave me instructions that there was an unsigned lockbox, in the dark, on the side of the fence, and I should just leave the car. Not a big deal, but by then my husband was home and we decided to bring it back the next morning given that I had already spent the day driving. When we return the car, I bring the keys in, the clerk barely looks up, says well we close at 6PM (website posted as 8PM). I mean, just tell me about the lockbox! He was beyond **** and did not care in the least about how terrible the car was on the highway. I would have left the office pretty happy if he had just said they would make sure the car was roadworthy for the next client, and apologized for the mix-up last night. Customer care's response was to offer a free upgrade on my next rental.
