I contacted the company to repair a garage door window my son had broken with a hockey puck. They were fast to come out and provide an estimate. They advised if we paid the 50% deposit the window could be repaired in 2-3 weeks. It has been 6 weeks and I am not getting an answer on when I can expect the window replacement.Initial Complaint

Contacted Window Medics Ottawa on November 07, 2023, for a glass replacement of a window and paid 50% or $500 upfront on November 09, 2023[e-Transfer at *********************. I was told that the service would be delivered within 4-6 weeks, and I was ok with that. But they didn't replace my window glass until March 12, 2024 (in more than 16 weeks). I sent emails to the company and messages to the guy mentioned in my INVOICE [************ - ***** *******] and every time I was given dates and dates and dates; but NO SERVICE & NO REFUND! Finally, I gave up on them because of their lies and now reaching out to *** for help to get my refund and prevent other Canadians from falling into their trap.Business Response

I contacted Window Medics for replacement of a glass pane in aa basement window. They came the next and measured the window. I was provided with the invoice (#****) for $384.20 and was required to pay 50% ($192.10) by e transfer which I did the same day. Delivery of the window was anticipated for Feb 02, 2024. Each time I call the company for an update at ************ I get a service to leave a message. Never get a call back. The window installer ***** on the invoice has a number ************. The number is never answered and despite leaving a message I get no return call. I see now on the internet numerous clients with the same complaints. These people are clearly frauds and need to be shut down and prosecuted. Either finish the job or refund the money.Customer Answer

In Nov 2022 I had Ottawa window medics "defog" 7 windows in my home. I was told by the tech ***** that the results would take approximately 4-6 weeks to see improvement. I never saw any improvement in fact they all got worse. I communicated this to them and they told me to wait longer. In March 2023 I contacted ***** again telling him my windows i have had no improvement and never received a response. In July 2023 I asked for a second treatment and was told they wouldn't do this for me. I sent them photos of my windows showing no improvement, again they said no they wouldn't treat my windows again. Their "warranty" process is to provide quote on replacing windows. In Sep 2023 I received a completely inflated cost estimate of window thermal replacement which was 2.5-3 times higher than other estimates I received. I advised ***** i was not satisfied with this resolution for a "warranty " and requested a refund for the original invoice i paid in Nov 22.Initial Complaint

I sent a request to have someone to look at repairing a pane of glass on my front window on August 30, 2023. ****** from Window Medics came to my house the next day which was August 31. He gave me a quote for $500.00 (plux tax) to replace the broken double pain living room window. I paid a 50% deposit that same day (Invoice# ****) and then I head nothing for ten days (Note that I did receive a second invoice on August 31 stating that I needed to pay the balance by October ******************************************************** to set up a repair date.)On September 9 I messaged ****** letting him know that no one had reached out to me. I asked about an ETA on the repair and was provided a phone number for ***** stating that he was the tech and I should reach out to him if I have questions. I messaged ***** that same day and got no reply. I then messaged ***** on September 11 and again on the 12th. He replied on the 12th saying that he had messaged me (he didn't) and that the glass would take 4-6 weeks to arrive. He said he would do a "final inspection next week" and that he would stay in touch. He hasn't. I've had to badger him and between then and now I've received a couple of messages; one with a date promised and this has been missed with no communication. He's now gone radio silent; last message from him was Oct 27.I can't even begin to describe the level of frustration I'm feeling at this point. I've emailed the company and received no reply. They just don't reply and leave you in the dark.I want Window Medics to return my deposit so I can find another company to repair my window in a timely, professional manner.Customer Answer

A deposit was paid on 25th May, 2023 for a window glass replacement. Tried several times to contact company and left messages about the status of the replacement. No replies or answers. So went with another company to replace the glass. ************** with this company and glass replaced. After this tried calling Window Medics several times for refund. No answer, but eventually by contacting a technician employed by the company was able to talk to a representative who refused to refund my deposit.Initial Complaint

July 29, 2023 ***** from Windowmedics came and gave quote on window glass replacement. Invoice emailed requesting 50% deposit retransferred to them. Did that. Said window will come with in 3-4 weeks. 7 weeks later, I have phoned them, left messages to their answering service, emailed them and phoned ***** at the phone number on invoice. No one gets back. Then saw on BBB site they to this to numerous people. I presume this is a FULLY FRAUD OPERATION taking money from people and the only way to contact them is to phone this answering service, and we get no response back.Customer Answer

I contacted Window Medics Ottawa in Oct 2022 to replace a window pane in my daughter's bedroom. They showed up the same day to estimate the job. I felt confident in their abilities and agreed to hire them. They sent the invoice asap and instructed half was to be paid ($355.95) now and the remaining half when the job was complete, which would take approximately 6-8 weeks to receive glass from manufacturer. I have continuously tried following up with them. At the beginning I was told in a week or two and they would be here. It has now been 9 months and absolutely no reply to calls or texts. It is stated that all paid amounts are non- refundable which I understand if the work is to be done but I feel I have been scammed. I have been more than patient, taking into account delays that are beyond their control with manufacturers and whatnot but the unprofessionalism of not returning calls or keeping the customer up to date is unacceptable.Initial Complaint

I contacted this company to have a window latch replaced on May 3rd, 2023. They responded quickly and quoted a price of $282.50. Although high I agreed. I was told that a 50% down payment was needed first. I e transferred $150.00 on May 3rd, 2023. May 8th, 2023 I received a text from a ****** from Window Medics Priority Customer Support saying that they will txt me when the next available appointment and it could take up to 4to 6 weeks. On June 15th I texted ******. Saying that I got an email saying that the balance is overdue and the job not done yet. He said he would reach out to the tech and get back to me. That was the last time I received any communications from this Company. I have send emails and texts since with no response. I did send an email on June 30th, 2023 asking if they are going to fix my window? If not return my $150.00 down payment and if I did not get a response by July 3rd, 2023 I would file a complaint with ***.Customer Answer
