Contacted Windowmedics in early January 2024 to see if they could repair a window that was forming condensation on the inside. ****** quickly called back and made arrangements to come by and assess. On January 8, 2024, ****** stopped by and immediately informed me that I needed a replacement window. The cost was $638.45, I gave him $400 cash and was told it would be 8 weeks to receive the replacement unit. Once we were into mid-March, I started emailing and calling. Finally, on April 8, 2024, ***** showed up to do the installation. He didn't have a new unit, he took my old window apart, cut new glass, used the old spacer and grill and reinstalled. Within hours I could see dirt on the inside if the window, it was installed crooked, and condensation began to form on the inside. In correspondence with *****, he indicated on April 11 he was getting new parts, on April 24 he was going to get a new unit, on May 3 the unit was ordered, last response on May 22nd. I have followed up repeatedly via phone, email and text, no *********** is now September 30th, and I an seeking a refund of my deposit so that I can get this job done by a reputable contractor.Initial Complaint

On May 15 I paid a deposit 50% for a window replacement. It has now been 3.5 months. The company won't answer my phone calls or emails. They scheduled an install then never showed up. I'd like the window installed or my money back.Initial Complaint

April 12, 2024 - ****** visited my property after a call request we made for 3 window crank replacements. The issue is that 3 of the window cranks in my home have come apart from the window crank holder and need replacement to be able to open the windows. He told us we a 50% deposit ($423.78 of a ending total of $847.50) was required to commence work. The timeline to complete the project as per ****** was "a few weeks". We paid the deposit in good faith despite a few weeks to finish a simple job seemed strange.Few weeks later, we contacted the technician on the invoice, *****. No response. We called and texted. No response. Then, we reached out to ****** for an update, he responded timely and said that we just needed to be patient. A couple more weeks later, contacted ***** for an update. Nothing. No response. No call back. Nothing at all. We followed up with ******, and he said to contact ***** as he does not have updates. May 8, 2024, in suspicion that this was a potential scam, we messaged ****** and requested a refund of the 50% deposit.****** remarked that scams don't answer texts and to be patient. He also added that the invoice advises that any funds paid will not be refunded, including our deposit. Again, run around trying to call ***** and contact ****** for updates. May 8, 2024 ***** messages back saying that he should have the parts by the end of week and an appointment was arranged on May 13. Then on that date, he said only 1 crank was available and the supplier was out of stock of the other 2. He offered to install the 1 crank while waiting for the other 2, which we denied as we have expected a full service and did not trust the company to deliver service in a timely manner. We continuously keep trying to contact ***** but he doesn't respond. He responded one more time and said the cranks weren't in yet. Now in August, still trying to reach him by text or call and no answer. Service is not complete. Please help retrieve a full refund.Initial Complaint

I requested Window Medics to replace the panes of one of my windows. The window was ordered on August 8th, 2023 after paying the 50% deposit on $536, but I didn't hear back from them until February. 2024. The day of the installation, they realized they did not have the window in their warehouse. I tried to cancel the order and get a refund, but they have left my messages unanswered.Initial Complaint

May 13th ****** on the phone from Window medics quoted me for the window replacement at 470$ i was instructed to pay 50% before, and was told it would *********** weeks, although i reminded him multiple times this was a rented home my landlord was not too happy about the broken window but nevertheless i told the landlord i paid for it to be fixed and he patiently waited with me. Its been 6 weeks and not a singe confirmation, no reply back, shady girl answers the home page phone and hangs up in your face pretending to not here you, also they do not reply to text or calls, they wont refund you they wont even tell you anything, then when i did some digging i realized they are a scamming company, they do 1-2 jobs to keep them looking active but mostly its a scam for any new customer. I spent 200$ and now im on the verge of getting kicked out my house, all i did was try to fix the window and now it looks like i did nothingInitial Complaint

I have contacted Windows medic Ottawa 2 April 24 to have 2 windows defogged. They came 9 April and did the work ion half ie installed only one valve, at the bottom instead the usual 2 valves. It didnt work so after a few exchanges, I decided to replace the two glasses. By then, I had already paid $282.50. He came back 22 April and took the measurements and asked for 50% deposit which I paid $424. Despite asking for invoices, I was never able to get any. Was supposed to take 4-6 weeks. Today, nothing yet and barely do I get responses to my texts. I asked for refund and was told they were going to check with supplier. Asked for update and no response. On 7 June, I was asked what my schedule was the Following week making me believe they had the glasses. But this week, still no answers. It appears they are running away with the money and are just gaining time. So I have paid $700 and cannot get the windows or my money back. I feel I have been robbed. There are so many companies that do this type of repair and are well rated that I feel bad I didnt look here prior to calling them.Initial Complaint

I placed an order with this business to replace a broken window. I was contacted by ****** and given the name of the technician ***** on invoice and after paying the deposit of 280$ (50%) was told 6 to 8 weeks to delivery. At 6 weeks I sought to contact the business to find out the status of my work order, and was unable to contact them directly. There number routs to an answering service and the technician's number does not answer calls, only allows messages. I went online to see reviews and see that there are repeated instances of exactly this behavior from them, with orders taking much longer than stated (which is already longer than average) (up to 20 weeks) which is frankly unacceptable. They are clearly scam operators hoping people give up on the work after they delay and delay. They should not be permitted to operate.Customer Answer

The business has contacted me and made sure the work was completed. The earlier lack of communication was not the fault of the local workers, who went above and beyond to resolve my issue. My complaint is resolved, and the records should reflect that.
