******** ** *** ******** ***** ******** Every month for 2 years I had an issue paying my bill. Called numerous times to customer service and billing, never an answer. They tell me I don’t have a hot water heater or that I am giving them the wrong address. Didn’t pay for a year as o was unable to ever get an answer about my account number never being correct. They then claim I have to by out a 25 year old hot water heater for 170.00
They then sent me to collections who couldn’t get ahold of me because big surprise Reliance gave them the wrong address. Reliance claims I live in a detached house and I live in a attached town home with a unit.
I paid all the months owing prior to getting a collection notice get was still send to collections for 429.29 even though I already paid $258.76
After explaining this to the credit collections agent ***** *** ********** **** ******* ** they called and spoke to accounting and explained that I can not buy the hot water heater as it is a rental townhouse.
He spoke with someone and had me call over an Reliance put me back on monthly billing. I paid 43.08 in monthly bills to catch up meaning I only owned April. Now I receive a bill for 198.00 because they have reneged on their agreement even after accepting monthly rental fees.Reliance Home Comfort

We have made 3 appointments in the last 3 weeks and no one has shown up. Every time we call to find out why they make excuses like, they called us but couldn't reach us (when we were home), the plumber was sick and won't be able to come for 2 weeks, they don't have a record of the appointment - this happened today. We have spent at least 4 hours in total trying to get someone to show up for a warranty issue. Booked 3 days off work so that I could be home for the repair (and don't get paid). Since they installed the water heater they are supposed to cover labour costs, if i call someone else I have to pay them because your warranty doesn't cover labour cost if I do.
The water heater has water underneath in the pan consistantly and there is rust on the top of the water heater. In over 40 years we have never had these kind of problems. I am worried that this issue will create even more of an overflow and cause other problems to our floors etc. and won't be covered under warranty because we didn't get anyone in to look at it. It seems this company is good and denying that they booked a service.
All you get is sorry for your trouble, but nothing gets done. **** ***** **** ******* * *****Reliance Home Comfort

They installed Softer only on the water heater and did not tell me. When I asked to have the installation corrected they won't do it and ask for me to pay extra 2k to correct the installation. My bill is auto paid on my credit card so they don't do anything coz the bill is paid anyways. Customer service sucks. ** *** ** ******** ********* *****Reliance Home Comfort

1 starI have been trying to get hold of their account receivable manager Eugene for the past couple of weeks and no one is passing me over to him. They keep playing games stating he is not available or not in the office. No one can tell me when he will be back either. This is ridiculous.Review fromKathryn K

We had multiple water leaks and a gas leak inside our home due to the installation of our new Reliance water heater. The initial installation was performed August 2022. The leaking and installation problems were not fixed until October 2022 due to Reliance's ******** customer service and having to follow up multiple times for repairs to be completed properly. We were told by multiple Reliance technicians who came to fix the (two separate) water leaks that the gas lines were installed incorrectly. It took over one month for Reliance to send the correct installation team to fix the gas line installation (after sending two of the wrong installers). Reliance Management was supposed to call us to book the gas line repair but never did. Only to send the original installer *** *** **** *** ************* We did not notice the gas leak until months later (26Mar2023), when it became noticeable. The gas leak was fixed today (28Mar2023). We had to go without heat and hot water for a day as the gas company had to shut off our gas due to the safety violation. Fingers crossed nothing else starts to leak/break.
We would also like to note no leak test tags were attached to the gas lines, as required by law according to the gas company. We also did not receive an invoice from the technician who initially installed and came back to re-install the gas lines. The technician who came to fix the gas leak did not apply leak test tags and informed us that the invoice would be good enough. ******** ** ***** *** ********* ***** **** ******* *** *** ************* ** ***** ******** It's a headache and potentially dangerous when they use technicians that perform sub-par work.Reliance Home Comfort

1 star*** *** ******** *** ** ***** ******** ******** I have had consistent horrible customer service with this company. The first downside, as a Real Estate investor that manages a number of Tenants, Reliance has no way for you to have your Tenants create an account to take over their water heater rental bill - as they would with other utility companies such as gas and hydro. Therefore, your only option is to give your Tenant access to the account under your name - this possess issues as landlord. But either way, this is the route I chose to take (and will never again because of Reliance, not my tenants). Today, I had one of my Tenants (of 4 months now) contact me saying they weren't able to access their online account (I had spent hrs on the phone with different Reliance customer service representative helping me set-up 4 months prior to this - largely in part because each person I spoke with would tell me something different). Anyways, somehow after 4 months of using the online account we had set up, it miraculously disappeared. The customer service Agent tried to convince me that it was never set up in the first place, which has proven to be untrue. She told me the only way for me to resolve the issue was to create a new account via a link that she had to send me - but wouldn't show up in my inbox for 24-48hrs later? Fine. I tried asking her why it took so long to send and what the difference was between that link and just re-creating an account myself online and she gave me such a vague answer, somewhere along the lines of "because that is the process." ****** **** ** ***** ******** * *** ********* *********** * *** **** *** ********* ********** *** ******** ** *** ***** To make a long story short, I was just trying to get a better understanding of the instructions she was telling me to do and when I'd tell her why I was confused she would interrupt me and eventually she muted herself and hung up on me. ******** ** **** ******** ******* ** **** *****Review fromPatrick S

Initially my experience with Reliance was great, the quote process was easy and fit the needs of my home. However, upon signing of the contract (which was discussed at length to be a financing contract for the unit). The sales person, Neil, actually presented to me what I would later find out was a rental contract. After realizing my mistake (I was under a lot of pressure to get a furnace as soon as possible) Reliance had informed me that I am to honor the contract, and that no action will be taken on my behalf, of course, this means Reliance makes more money in the end. *********** *** *************** ** *** ***** ** *********Reliance Home Comfort

** *** **** **** **** ************. I have rented my current hot water heater from them for the last 16 years. It has begun to leak and needs replacement. I have made three appointments now for the replacement. Each time they failed to show up and I received a call later telling me about a problem with the tech and as a result he had to leave early that day. This after I had arranged for a family member to sit there during the four hour window they provided for service. There are other alternatives for rentals locally.Reliance Home Comfort
