      I inherited hot water tank rentals from Reliance with both houses I've moved into. Major issues: - One tank wasn't installed up to code. It blocked the service area for my furnace so when that needed replacing I also had to move/replace the hot water tank. - While exploring options to replace the improperly-installed tank, the Reliance tech said a tankless system wouldn't work for my house and pushed their more expensive options instead. I ended up getting a tankless system from another company and it worked great. - One contractor they sent verbally quoted one price that Reliance would charge, then offered cheaper cash-only off-the-books work instead. ******* ******* ***** ******* ***** *** ******* *** **** *************** *** ** ********* * ****** ** *** ****** ***** *** ******** ***. Minor issues: - Every time I phoned I had to sit through a long ad for new services before I could reach the menu with customer service options. - The customer service hours listed on their website did not match their real hours when I tried to call. - When I scheduled a service call the representative should have told me that the part I had an issue with wasn't covered under the rental agreement. It was a waste of time to send a tech just to say it wasn't covered. - When I returned the hot water tank for my first house, they still charged an extra 3 months rent for terminating the 9.5 year old tank "early." - After my second move it took over a month to receive any information about my rental (rental terms, price, etc); long enough that I wondered if the tank was actually rented. Reliance charged rental fees for that period, even though I wanted to buy out the rental. When I finally did cancel they didn't pro-rate either; I was charged a full extra month for the last 15 days. - When I wanted to buy out my second rental the "please stay" script felt very disrespectful. I had to tell them at least 5 times that I wanted to buy out and end my relationship with Reliance.

      Had an install done in 2020 which was done extremely unprofessionally. Poor venting causing fan motor issues due to excessive condensation. Tech repaired the issue but when we escalated our concerns to their corporate office, our concerns were downplayed and the tech walked back his statements. I would recommend anyone in the market looking for a water heater to look for a company who stands behind their Mission Statement....Reliance appears to not be that company.

      Reliance is the absolute worst when it comes to cancelling service and closing your account. We flip houses and set up and cancel utilities and rental equipment several times a year at different properties and Reliance is a nightmare to work with EVERY SINGLE TIME! No other company gives us this much headache! The most recent experience has us still being billed for rental equipment 4 and a half months after we sold the house even though the furnace and A/C were bought out at the closing of the property, and the water tank should have been transferred to the new owner. Multiple E-mails from our lawyer, and many phone calls from our end have yet to resolve the issue. They assure us with each conversation that the issue is resolved and updated on their end, yet the account is still open and we're getting automated phone call messages that our account is overdue by more than 60 days.       I cancelled my water heater rental. As per their process, I dropped the water heater off at their depot. They owed me money back as I had a credit with them. They said they would refund this credit to me. After asking four time now over 4 months. Still no credit. They have indicated they would send it, but clearly have no intentions on doing that.

      Unfortunately, Reliance Home Comfort did not follow any rules around PIPEDA legislation. They opened an account in my husbands name without his consent. Obtained the name from the previous home owners and decided that was sufficient grounds to open a contract. Even after giving them an opportunity to do what is right, they decided to do the ********* thing and continue on with business as usual. Saw no issue in the breach of private information and do not act in the best interest of ANY business, new or existing. After replacing a 7 year old water tank that was completely corroded, they washed their hands with the breach of privacy and did nothing. Karen B. is the representative that is suppose to take care of the breach. She did nothing. Safe to say, this is how they conduct themselves with peoples personal information. Concerning, distrusting and scary.

      worst company ever. They don't even honour their promises. When they want to sell you anything, they will be very good but after that their service sucks.. ***** ******** ******* ** ******* Everytime you call, you get a different answer. **** *** ********* ***** **** ******* ******

      ****** **** ** ***** ** ** **** ******* I have been without hot water for 8 days now, my wife has taken 2 days off work to be home for scheduled appointments and 3 times now they have no showed without even a call customer service is clueless and last i talked to them the lady says "well hopefully they show up today" **** ******** * ******** *** ***** **** ******* *** ******** ***** **** ***** ** **** ****** ** ** **** ** ******

      Our water heater was working sporadically. We called Reliance and received same day (on the weekend) service. It was determined that we needed a new tank. It was installed efficiently and neatly the next day by the installers contracted by Reliance. Originally it was to be between 8-1, but we were called when they knew they would be later than that. Great communication!

      This company is the worst company I've ever had to deal with. My husband and I had an A/C unit installed a few years ago and it has been nothing but issues since. The customer service is terrible and the service techs that I've had in my home are even worse. The service techs have left without completing work, no follow up is done with the service techs and head office so work is left undone and in limbo as nobody has any communication. I have had my fair share of poor service experiences over the years but Reliance Home Comfort sits top of my list. I am currently trying to reach someone who can schedule the removal of the equipment so I can go with a company who is responsive and holds up their end of the contract. * ***** ***** ***** ******* ** **** ******* *** ** *** *** ******* *** ********* ** *** **** ***** * **** ********** ** * ***** **** **** ******* **** ***** * * ******
