Reliance Home Comfort Plan please please read the fine print. When I signed up for the plan they and the rep didn't explain that the renewal is always for a 1 year term and that a monthly plan is not an option. They also didn't explain that if you don't cancel on their anniversary date the term auto renews. Not happy with this.Reliance Home Comfort

After being a Reliance customer for over 10 years, and always paying on time monthly, I received atrocious service when the heat pump stopped working. Reliance made me wait for a day for a technician, who did nothing except take a sensor out of the **** and left. I asked him if all ok but he stated that he was sent as a troubleshooter and not a technician. He assured me that the heat pump was ok. The next day I went up to the house (which is unoccupied) ** * *** ********** ***** *** **** On the way the neighbour called to say that there was a flood coming from my place. Arriving, the toilet was frozen and the tank cracked and flooding. It took Reliance a long while but finally someone was sent. I was with him for all afternoon (seven hours) trying to install a **** which in any case would not work since there is no internet in the property.
We were lucky to find the problem quickly due to the alert neighbour, and when I replace the toilet (Approx$550) with invoice, Reliance now send me a bunch of claim papers I have tio fill out that will cost me in time more than the cost!!
I am looking at how to leave them asap, and also looking to speak with a customer service manager.........bad enough the experience, but all this for $550.....** ***** ****** ******* ******** **** ********Reliance Home Comfort

This is a ***** company with ********* sales tactics where actual information is not communicated. I had one of their ***** salesmen convince me to get a water softener which I was curious about however when I asked the question of "What if I don't like this anymore?" he just said you can cancel and have to pay $300-400 for someone to remove the equipment. I thought that wasn't too bad so he installed the thing. I signed the work order and apparently i signed a contract with fine print that say I'm stuck for 7 years with this and the buyout option is more expensive then just letting the contract run out. No mention of this from the installer - even when asked - and no verbiage on the work order that I signed either. **** *********** ** *** ** *******. **** * ******** ******* to not disclose any details to a customer, especially because I asked about this specific issue. I called to inquire about cancelling because I feel it's $35 wasted because I don't notice a difference but now I'm stuck for another 5 years. **** * ***** **** ****** ** *** ** ******** **** ***** ********* ***** Their response is "Well you signed the contract" so yes, stupid me....but this was after I was given the wrong info and the ****** thing was already installed. * **** *** **** *** **** ********Reliance Home Comfort

To simplify the issue I would say that the company sold me a 13/gpd humidifier based on the advisory salesperson and after the installation the humidity start to be dropping instead of increasing and after 5 or 6 days back and forth with tech after tech coming to look after the problem they eventually decided that it is working but maybe you need a larger one and when I requested to cancel the contract within the 10 days cool off and with the 100% money back guaranteed the customer resolution team lead advised me that I need to pay $300 for removing the humidifier in which the total cost was about $550 and he/she highlighted the fine font print that the supplier can charge reasonable cost for cancellation..
On the side of this issue I have spent 4 days in which in each day I have to sit home for a window of 4 hours waiting for the tech to come home and I spent l more than 6 to 7 hours on the phone taking with different agents that I was surprised none of them is able to access the files or the records or the phone calls for the issue I am talking about..Reliance Home Comfort

In February 2024 i had a cold climate heat pump installed, the tech that installed the thermostat set it up to run on Auxiliary, which is basically what we had before. (Electric Furnace) I changed the thermostat to heat. After running a few month, the thermostat stopped to run the heat pump. I was able to start it in the test mode, but after switching back to heat it would stop using the heat pump. I had a Tech from Reliance over and at the second visit he wrote on his service report to change the Thermostat. He told me he would be back the next day with a new Thermostat. No show for several day's until i called the service manager, he told me that there not going to replace the Thermostat. I had to put the system to Aux. mode to get heat. That was not why i spend the money and had a heat pump installed.
At this point i ordered a new Thermostat and will install it on my own.Reliance Home Comfort

After 30 years of loyalty and regular monthly payments for water heater rental as well as furnace maintenance monthly payments, we decided to replace our furnace and get hot water on demand.
We called Relance to pick up their water heater and discontinue our account with them.
It took 1 month for them to pick up their water heater water heater sitting on the driveway. They then charged $ 350 for pick up and continued to charge for monthly maintenance which we cancelled.
We refused to pay 350 which is practically the cost of a new water heater and offered $150 for pick up which they refused. They continued to charge monthly maintenance fees but never sent a bill for an entire year. After a year they advised us that we owed over $900 which is a ridiculous amount for picking up their own equipment.
They did not accept our offer and sent the account to *** a collection agency which hounds us daily for over a year for $900, a ridiculous amount for the water heater pick up.
We again offered to pay $150, and were again refused.
Be aware that Reliance uses ******** charges for terminating an account.
This is NO way to treat customers that have spent well over $20,000 over a period of 30 years!Reliance Home Comfort

Reliance = zero accountability!
I pay for a Reliance total home plan that includes plumbing services. In August 2024, Reliance sent different plumbers to my home to resolve a guest toilet with continuous water flow from the tank to the bowl. Each plumber did something different but couldn’t solve the flow. One of the plumbers changed the entire plug inside the tank with a replacement plug and didn’t tighten the outer screws properly. Over time, in 3 weeks, parts of my main floor ceiling below became damp and stained and investigation by another Reliance plumber proved that it was the loose plug that caused the leak and damage to the ceiling. I filed a claim with Reliance immediately and was told it will take 6-8 weeks to come to a resolution with an offer. I submitted names of Reliance plumbers who worked on the toilet, dates, sequence of events, photos and repair estimates as requested by Reliance. It’s now 21 weeks, and Reliance has still not given the offer to use to repair the stained ceiling caused by their plumbers. ***** *********** ** ** ****** today Reliance now says I should get a contractor to repair the ceiling and submit an invoice for reimbursement. I told Reliance I do not have the money to pay the deposit for a contractor to start work nor have money to pay for damages caused by Reliance. No contractor wants to be at loss too, so I’m left with a nasty damp stained ceiling. The amount I’m seeking from Reliance is $1243 for the ceiling repair plus cost of a new toilet since the replacement plug the Reliance plumber installed isn’t an original and can cause leaks again.
Reliance has caused me unnecessary ********* distress, possible increased damages with their delay over this issue with back and forth emails, sometimes ignoring me for weeks.
I’m hoping ** **** ********* Reliance will do the needful and take accountability for their damages in a timely manner.Reliance Home Comfort

********* Sales Tactics:
After my water heater was deemed irreparable, a sales representative arrived within the hour to push towards a different product or a $2800 replacement tank (which I assumed to be a direct replacement). The urgency and lack of transparency about product differences (e.g., I was not told this model was significantly worse than my existing one as she omitted to disclose the absence of the Direct Vent feature in the proposed replacement) ***** **** *************** *********, where critical details are withheld to secure a quick sale. **** ******** ******* ***** ** *** *********** **** ***** ********* ********** *************** ** ****** ********** Had it not been for delays in procuring this tank, it would have been swapped for mine, and I never would have known that I had received an inferior product. This only came to revelation days later through conversations with a different agent.
Financial Transparency and Dispute Resolution:
I was charged $300 for an unnecessary part and now face a 7–10-day wait for refund resolution, a process that lacks accountability. After waiting on hold for a long time, I was met with someone who clearly did not have the power to help me, and now I have to wait a significant portion of time with a "maybe" to the refund. Such delays conflict with consumer protection obligations for timely redress* ** ********** ** *** ****** ****** ** ********** ***** *********.Reliance Home Comfort

We first asked if we could change from renting to owning as at the time we were renting our house and it was cheaper to rent the units the lady who came into our home looked me in my face and said “yes, of course you can switch it won’t be a problem.” That was a *** after two years, I called and asked if we could do monthly payments to own. They said no your contract stated it’s rental. Ugh!!
This company takes you over the coals and tries to seem like they are being fair, after 7 years renting a A/C unit and furnace, our contract is up and asked if we could do a buy out and finance remanding amount through them. They say hard no and won’t help in any other way we spent 14,000.00 plus two months of 160.00 for nothing. And they want an additional!7,000.00+ ,Now we have to start over again from a loyal company! They also will take liens on houses if you sell and depend you buy them out right!Reliance Home Comfort
