Hi ******,
I've already taken the steps to cancel my contract with Reliance due to the safety hazard reliance caused in my home and because of reliance's inability to know how to fix the issue. You're to pickup y
Up the water heater today and I hope reliance doesn't end up charging me to take away the water heater that was causing a gas code violation in my home. Your reps said I'd have to dispute this charge, but this seems insane that I'd have to pay to return your product that was 1 day away from getting my gas shutoffReview fromNermeen I

1 starAnother company changed the old water heater from Reliance. The other company contacted Reliance to return the water heater on the same day but Reliance sent a letter stating that this address is not a current customer. After 2 months Reliance started sending me bills. I contacted the Reliance branch in Ontario, but they did not help.Review fromPriya S

Reliance will not replace like to like parts. They will degrade to base model saying that’s what covered. They will not order the parts under warranty if the parts still covered under warranty.
We reported heating issue on Jan mid and still not fixed. Entire winter we were struggling without heat.
Just for one single issue reported to Reliance, we faced with multiple hassles.
1. We changed parts for $700 + $99 for diagnosis fee as per given solution. Diagnosis was wrong as the issue happened again within 3 hours after parts change.
2. technician was **** *** ******** at us for the genuine questions like what is the root cause and will the issue resolve after parts change.
3. Often miscommunication between technicians and warehouse which eventually made us to suffer with the issue. After multiple technicians visit, each one gave solution to change every single part of furnace which they have never confirmed root cause or issue will resolve.
4. we now given only option of degrading thermostat to base model saying that this is what been approved.
We went back and forth with Customer solution manager - Victoria homes for few weeks now asking for refund for wrong diagnosis and parts change or atleast change to like to like thermostats. There is always one answer, IT IS NOT POSSIBLE.
Basically we are living with pain instead of peace of mind because of their Unskilled, Unprofessional, Unacceptable services.Reliance Home Comfort

I had an incredibly frustrating experience with Reliance, and * **** ********** ****** ** their sales tactics. When I switched from my previous water heater provider, I was told Reliance would take over the billing and provide me with a new water heater at the same monthly payment I was already making. Everything sounded great, and I agreed to the deal. However, what they never told me was that I was signing a 15-year contract, and nowhere in the paperwork or discussions was that term made clear.
I also wasn’t informed about the exorbitant cancellation fee if I ever wanted to exit the contract. I had already paid $1,850 of monthly payments for the rental over thr last 7 years so when I called to cancel, I was shocked to find out that it would cost me $2,500 to break the contract! This is not only unreasonable but also feels like a total lack of transparency on their part.
Reliance misrepresented the terms of the agreement, and now I’m stuck with a contract I didn’t fully understand, along with an absurd fee if I want to cancel. I would strongly advise anyone considering Reliance for their water heating needs to be cautious and make sure all terms are fully explained before signing anything.Reliance Home Comfort

My experience with this company was overwhelmingly negative, encompassing interactions with customer service/manager Hasan, a sales representative named Tom and Karen B. from the Office of the President.
Our furnace malfunctioned, requiring three service technicians' visits without resolution. We experienced a five-to-seven-day heating outage during winter while awaiting a managerial callback, a call which was never received. Reliance, on three separate occasions, verbally confirmed that all parts and labor were covered under our maintenance plan. Despite this assurance, and despite Reliance's confirmation to a technician during a call, their contracted technicians were repeatedly denied authorization for the necessary repairs. Consequently, we requested a replacement furnace quote, which was delivered unprofessionally via text message stating only "$3850," lacking essential details such as make, model, warranty information, and BTU rating, even after repeated requests. Due to this lack of professionalism, we engaged a different company, procuring and installing a new furnace within 24 hours.
This constitutes unprofessional, unacceptable, and potentially illegal conduct; leaving a family without heat for a week during winter is egregious. * ******** ****** ******* ********** ******** **** ** ********* *** *********** ***** ******* ** **** ********Reliance Home Comfort

I recently had a leak from the pipe leading in to the water heater. I called and while I was dealing with my basement being flooded, the sales rep on the other end of the phone was trying to upsell my protection plan after telling me that pipes may not be their problem and may need a plumber. Then proceeds to give me a 6 hr window for a tech to show up. The only saving grace was the tech showed up and was done in 30 mins. He was a good guy. Customer service however, not so muchReliance Home Comfort

Reliance Home Comfort Plan please please read the fine print. When I signed up for the plan they and the rep didn't explain that the renewal is always for a 1 year term and that a monthly plan is not an option. They also didn't explain that if you don't cancel on their anniversary date the term auto renews. Not happy with this.Reliance Home Comfort

After being a Reliance customer for over 10 years, and always paying on time monthly, I received atrocious service when the heat pump stopped working. Reliance made me wait for a day for a technician, who did nothing except take a sensor out of the **** and left. I asked him if all ok but he stated that he was sent as a troubleshooter and not a technician. He assured me that the heat pump was ok. The next day I went up to the house (which is unoccupied) ** * *** ********** ***** *** **** On the way the neighbour called to say that there was a flood coming from my place. Arriving, the toilet was frozen and the tank cracked and flooding. It took Reliance a long while but finally someone was sent. I was with him for all afternoon (seven hours) trying to install a **** which in any case would not work since there is no internet in the property.
We were lucky to find the problem quickly due to the alert neighbour, and when I replace the toilet (Approx$550) with invoice, Reliance now send me a bunch of claim papers I have tio fill out that will cost me in time more than the cost!!
I am looking at how to leave them asap, and also looking to speak with a customer service manager.........bad enough the experience, but all this for $550.....** ***** ****** ******* ******** **** ********Reliance Home Comfort

This is a ***** company with ********* sales tactics where actual information is not communicated. I had one of their ***** salesmen convince me to get a water softener which I was curious about however when I asked the question of "What if I don't like this anymore?" he just said you can cancel and have to pay $300-400 for someone to remove the equipment. I thought that wasn't too bad so he installed the thing. I signed the work order and apparently i signed a contract with fine print that say I'm stuck for 7 years with this and the buyout option is more expensive then just letting the contract run out. No mention of this from the installer - even when asked - and no verbiage on the work order that I signed either. **** *********** ** *** ** *******. **** * ******** ******* to not disclose any details to a customer, especially because I asked about this specific issue. I called to inquire about cancelling because I feel it's $35 wasted because I don't notice a difference but now I'm stuck for another 5 years. **** * ***** **** ****** ** *** ** ******** **** ***** ********* ***** Their response is "Well you signed the contract" so yes, stupid me....but this was after I was given the wrong info and the ****** thing was already installed. * **** *** **** *** **** ********Reliance Home Comfort
