During our recent visit to the ********* branch of Scotiabank, we experienced an incredibly frustrating interaction that left us dissatisfied *** ************. We had previously contacted the bank’s call center, where we thoroughly explained our situation regarding cash withdrawal limits and e-transfers. The representative had assured us that visiting the ********* branch would allow us to address our concerns directly, as the staff there had the authority to increase our limits for emergency purposes. **** *******, we spoke with a lady at the counter who, despite our detailed explanation, responded that she could not assist us. ** **** ** ****** *** *** ****** ******** * ******* repeating the same refusal over and over without considering our unique circumstances. ******* ************ ********** we requested that she consult her manager to see if there was any way to accommodate our request. That’s when ***** *** *****, who was standing nearby, interjected. Instead of offering assistance or understanding, he adopted a dismissive attitude. He repeatedly stated that nothing could be done, ******* * ******** **** ** ******* *** ******** ******* ******* His manner was unprofessional. **** * ****** ** ***** *** ** ************ ** ********* **** ************, suggesting that I should leave the branch if I was unhappy. * *** **** ********* **** **** ** ******** ******* ********** ******** ** ********* *********** **** ****** His behavior *** **** *********** ** ******* *********** ********* *** **** reflected poorly on the bank as a whole. ******** ***** they do nothing for me. their atm machines ALWAYS refuse one bill no matter what, i have tested this about 10 times, and the rejected bill is always accepted the next time i go in. My main issue besides scotiabank removing all in person service from my branch is that not only did they previously attempt to ruin my credit score with multiple overdraft applications but that they wont even give me an overdraft nor a credit card. I have a credit score well over 800 and they bombard me with offers saying im pre approved but the website hasnt worked since i became a customer in 2015 and i cant complete the applications. they have zero customer service. i demanded they remove all **** applications and they refused and said go into your branch to do it, yea the one with no humans in it? no in person service? **** * ***** they also refused to give me a tfsa a few years back which resulted in me pulling out my entire list savings *** ******* ** **** ************

We were defrauded in Cabo San Lucas by car rental company ****** *** * ***** ****** on Feb. 5/23 in the amount of $965 M/L on our Scotiabank **** credit card. The charge was unauthorized; Scotiabank does not have a record of the transaction or an imprint of the card. At the start of the 28 day rental ****** put a Hold on our acct., which is customary for rentals. There were 2 items that were fraudulent charges, the rental rate and an additional liability insurance charge of US$420. SBank (**** dept and ****) asserted we fully authorized the charge when in fact we were not present at ****** on Feb. 5/23, nor was the credit card. SB claimed they could not investigate because there was no final receipt. OBVIOUSLY, we do not have a final receipt because Scotiabank has NO record of the transaction. We did NOT AUTHORIZE the merchant to charge our card. For over a year we requested a final receipt from SB but they never even addressed the matter. Escalated to **** & ****, and then *****, ***** ** * ****. ** ****** ** ********* *** ********** Got the same answer right down the line. Scotia disregarded or lost our complaint file for 117 days and will not acknowledge it! **** ***** ***** ***** ** ***** FCAC now investigating - we hope. Scotia claims in their Banking Companion Booklet and on their website that the Scotiabank **** card is covered by the "******** ******* Fraud Protection Guarantee", which is a FALSE representation. Their agents will not comment about **** being the credit card network payment operator for Scotia. (SB is the only Canadian bank to issue an **** card in Canada other than AmEx itself.) In other words, Scotia authorized the fraudulent charge **********. ***** *********** **** ************ *** **** ** ******** ******* ********** *** ******* **** ******* ** **** ********** *** ********* ** ***** ********** **** **** ****** **** **** *** **** *** **** ***** ********** ********** ***** ********** *** ********* ****** ** **** *** **** *** ************

**** ******** *** ************** **** *** ** **** ******** Argumentative, hangs up on you, chronically interrupting you, refusing to cooperate, asking multiple questions(up to 12) and yet refusing to authenticate you, refusing to pass you on to management or supervisor. When you bring them a cheque from the province or the government they insist on HOLDING that (despite the incredibly reputable source) cheque for a minimum of 5 business days without exception! Very cranky and **** people behind the desk when you walk in to the branch. Very unpleasant to deal with in all ways. * **** ** ***** *** ***** You pay OFF a loan and they CONTINUE to take payments from your account and argue that the account isn’t paid off when it is! They refuse to give you a receipt that your bill is PAID OFF as well. Very uncooperative bank to deal with. *** ** ********** **** ****** ****** ** ******* ***

Couple of month ago I was trying to withdraw some cash in Scotiabank's ATM in the downtown of Montreal. It happened to me 1st time, it was a snow storm, I spend 30 mins walking from one Scotia ATM to another, but all formerly known 24/7 ATM locations were closed and card access to them was blocked. Tonight I was trying to get some cash in after work hours and walked to another 2 Scotia locations where ATMs were working 24/7. Unfortunately all of them have been closed at 4pm and 5pm! it means Scotia bank cancelled 24/7 access to their ATM in Montreal at all. Since I have to use only Scotia ATM to withdraw cash without any fees, I am not able to get money in after working hours in Montreal! It is incredible!
