I got a personal loan from Fairstone back in late January 2022. I did not want to sign up for insurance but the representative ******, who actually helped, insisted that I can cancel within 30 days. So I contacted ****** within 30 days about the cancellation of the insurance. He sent me the form by e-mail and asked me to send him the insurance cancellation form back to him. So I did it right away and he confirmed over the phone that he received the form, he advised that the insurance would be removed within a week and I would be notified. I never heard back. Then I called Fairstone customer service line and I was advised that a manager would call me back. The customer service representative refused to give me the Manager's e-mail address so that I could send the communication I had with ******. I never heard back from any Manager until today. Then I e-mailed ****** in April 2022 again and he called a few days later saying sorry, and due to computer glitches my request for cancellation could not be done but assured would be done in a week and I would be notified of the insurance cancellation. Today is December 15, 2022, and I still I never heard back from Fairstone. My experience is simply horrible. Also, I do not see any updates on my credit bureau report. It seems their credit-building loan program does nothing. I never missed a single payment, for your information. And the insurance thing is totally a scam. These are my first-hand experience.Fairstone

I am not a Fairstone customer. I applied for financing at BestBuy but never went through with it. Now they are trying to scam fees out of me even though they've never loaned me a single cent. They keep sending me invoices and threatened to lower my credit score. Scammers.Fairstone

Stay far, far away from Fairstone. I took out a loan from my bank to pay off the credit card charges, have confirmation that the account was paid off and closed, date, account number it was paid to, everything, and 5 years later they are still saying I owe $200 and counting. It's getting in the way of applying for a pre approval mortgage and they refuse to give Equifax straight answers on where this $200 charge is coming from.Fairstone

The application process was easy. However, like many here I was never informed by my rep of the insurance. He physically made me breeze through the application while he was there so I missed the costly insurance. Sadly by the time I caught it a few months lapsed. I had lost my job in the middle and tried to process a claim 3 times through my insurance which never happened. After that I decided to cancel the insurance to save myself nearly 4k which also was incurring interest which is so terribly wrong. After missing 1 month of payments from lack of work I was assured if I made a $100 payment they would defer the month I missed. Now I am receiving calls from them weekly to make payments when I am caught up. This company is a scam and do NOT give them your money. Once I get my year end bonus I am paying this off and will never ever return to them again. Loan sharks seem like a better option then them. They are worse then a collections agency.Fairstone

That does not meet our priorities or our standards of care and we apologize for that.Loan insurance, as you note, is an optional product that can be cancelled at any time. It is optional, so it does not need to be opted into at all if the applicant deems it unnecessary for any reason. For loan insurance to be applied to an account it must be signed for by the applicant. Only if it is signed for can it be applied to the account. I personally visited a branch at keel st, *******.It is hard to find the place, there is no sign of fairstone anywhere around the place, so I called the office for navigation, but instead of navigate me he hanged the phone. Called back and ask for manager again, but he hanged again, so now I just wanted to find the place and file a compliment about the guy with the manager, but when I found the place, he invited me to the office from the hall, and I realized he works alone. He offered me seat to sit, and he set behind his desk as well. As I set down I saw an other customer's document and a large photocopy of a customer drivers licence, so just as I landed on the chair I realized I have nothing to do there. Even I have to complain online. Then he started to speak, but I told him I don't want to deal with him anymore, I just wanted to see his manager. Again before I go there I didn't know he works alone. So as I stand up from chair it just came to my mind to shoot a photo of his desk, and as I had my phone in my hand all time it was easy to shoot a photo, but this time he also was up from chair and showing the way out, when he see the display of my phone, so he took it out of my hand, and started to CHOKING ME. He literally has grabbed my neck with his hand and tried to choke me. I tried to escape and yelled for help. 2 other guy came there, and helped me out. I have screeches all over my neck and on my nose. I called the police, filed a report. Now I'm looking for a lawyer to learn about my options.Luckily no serious injuries done to me, however I have been hurt. I have a report of those as well. That guy must be a psychopath, who ever read this before go to this place in person, think twice. I only give 1 star, because you have to rate them at least 1 star to be able to place the order.Fairstone

I financed a couch through fairstone on May 2022 with 0 interest for one year and they slipped in an annual $20.00 fee in June 2022 unbeknown to me which required immediate payment .2 months later they sent me to collections for the balance of couch plus interest on a couch that I wasn't expecting to pay till May 2023 . They are a bunch of crooks that prey on the poor FFS.Fairstone

i got a loan from fairstone all paperwork had been e filed set a time and date up to go into office and 45 min before a rep called to make sure i was coming in. When i got there see said just had to finish some of my paper work up. 45 min later then decided to tell me they needed my income tax form and some extra pay stubs. What they didn't now this an hour ago 2 days ago. The red flags went up and l walked away. but after reading these l guess that l got off lucky being jerk around at the startFairstone
