Reassured it wasn't Scam. also said need to let bank know cause it will come back declined so i paid the $ she said she call back after 10 mins didn't get a call so like a fool i called her got somebody else said the other person i talk with was busy. so of course she started looking on my credit report said it look like it can be solve because account was a prepaid cell. had problems with others same issue so she settle it for me. But at first it was if i joined for $299 membership . but her boss said he go lower $199 and $100 a month . and can cancel at anytime. so next thing i know i see email to my account *********** that with that one dollar paid for 7 day free trail membership of ***** until i cancel membership. so want me to give them $ 199. pulse $***** all just because i called them trying to figure out why this debts on my credit never received and letter or contacts until i seen it on my account and she also said the account says 00 balance. so maybe this how they get old ****'s to sign on to their scam but i am on SSD and i can't afford $199 and 100 a month. so I declined and I did contact credit company disputes the $ 202 collection. if She sees issue already on that collection debt while looking at my credit account then I just don't understand how that happen that way. if its scam from collection company or is it both ?Business Response

We appreciate the consumer, ***************************, for contacting AmSher through the BBB portal. In the complaint the consumer is disputing the ******** account in the amount of $202 listed on her credit reports because she declined the initial offer by ******** and would like this account removed from her credit reports.
AmShers investigation began by requesting our client, ********, to review the history of the account in question. Upon receipt of ********s review, research shows the account was activated on 03/27/23 as a postpaid individual-regular account in the billing name, ******************************, and cancelled on 05/17/23. There were no payments or service usage found on the account. Therefore, ******** was able to treat this as a No Install and adjusted the charges by crediting the account in full, leaving zero (0) balance owed and then recalled the account on 9/15/23. The customer is free to pursue new service.
AmSher closed and returned the account on the same day and as requested by the consumer, AmSher had already submitted the account to be removed from her credit reports, allowing up to 60 days for all the credit bureaus to update the records. Thank you for allowing AmSher an opportunity to address the consumers concerns. Please note: All future inquiries as it relates to this account should be sent directly to ********.Initial Complaint

Approximately on June 30th 2023 I started being contacted by AmSher Collection Services, *** via call, text and mail. They claim that I owe more than $380 to ********.I promptly contacted ******** to inquire about this debt and they stated that I do not owe them anything, they don't have any information about the debt being solicited by AmSher Collection Services ***. I informed AmSher Collection Services *** via phone that ******** confirmed that I don't owe them anything. Despite letting them know, AmSher Collection Services *** keeps contacting me. They even signed me up to receive text messages from them and when asked them to stop texting me, they keep enrolling me in the service without my consent, so I also filed a complaint through the ****Customer Answer

Hello,
I'm reaching out regarding the complaint I filed on 8/13/2023 reference #********
I'd like to provide an update, because I found out that I was not being scammed by AmSher Collection Services ****
I just recently discovered that ******** did, in fact, submit my account for **********************, because they didn't process correctly the home Internet equipment I returned to them about 8 months ago. And even though I contacted ******** multiple times requesting information about the collection, the associates kept confirming that there was no information about a collection on my name and no balance due. Until finally, this month, I called ******** again and spoke with an associate who was able to find out about the open collection.
I then proceeded to file a complaint with ********, and today I was contacted by a representative who confirmed that my account had been sent to collection by mistake, and sent me an email stating that I do not owe them any balance.
I will proceed to provide the email received from ******** to AmSher Collection Services **** to prove that the debt collection originally started by ********, is not valid.
In case needed, I can forward ********'s email to you as well.
Best,
NildeBusiness Response

We appreciate the consumer, *****************************, for contacting AmSher through the BBB Portal. In his complaint, the consumer disputes the ******** account being reported as a collection account because he claims he returned the home internet equipment about eight (8) months ago and a ******** representative advised, there was no information found about the account being in collections and showed no balance due, at the time of the communications directly with ********. The consumer provided a copy of the email communications and requests the deletion from his credit reports. Please note that the basis of Nilde ********** complaint appears to be a billing dispute with our client, ********, and not actually a complaint about AmSher specifically.
AmShers research and review is showing the account was activated as a post-paid individual-regular account in the billing name, *********************** Further review shows a credit adjustment on the account for the device equipment fee, crediting the account in full, leaving a zero (0) balance owed. ******** recalled the account on 8/18/2023. The consumer is free to pursue new service.
Please be advised, AmSher closed and returned the account on the same day. As requested by the consumer, AmSher had already submitted the account to be removed from his credit reports on 8/13/23, allowing up to sixty (60) days for each of the credit bureaus to update. Thank you for allowing AmSher an opportunity to address the consumers concerns.Customer Answer

I received notification that a new report had hit my credit report in July. i called and spoke to representative on July 10, 2023 who said that my account was being serviced by ******************* and she provided me the number. I called and spoked to a representative. I told her that i did not take ownership of debt but i wanted to pay it so it would not be on my credit report. She said that if i paid it would be removed. I asked if there was a less amount that i was eliglble to pay and she advised me of the amount. I asked again if i paid will it be removed from my credit report. I was told that it would be removed from my credit. I went ahead and paid. A couple of weeks later, my credit report showed that the account was still there but it said it was settled for less than owed. i called the Amsher Collections office and i was told that if I did not pay the full amount it would not be removed. i told the representative what i was told by the person who i spoke to when i made the payment so she referred me to the ******************* office. I called and spoked to a representative. I told her that they could play the recording since they say they record the conversations and they can hear that the representative not once did she say that if I paid less then the information would not be removed. I asked several times when i made the payment and she confirmed it would be removed. The representative who i spoke to at ******************* apologized and said will have it removed from my report and also forward my complain to the supervisor. As of today nothing has been done. I am in the process of moving and due to this collection my credit went below 600 and i am having issues getting approved for the new apartment. I am asking to have this removed from my credit report as it was promised from the first representative. Also, I paid almost 90% of what was due had she said you need to pay the full amount i would have.Business Response

We appreciate the consumer, ***************************, for contacting AmSher through the BBB portal. In the complaint, the consumer claims she agreed to settle the debt owed to ******** with the promise of the collections account being removed from her credit report.
AmShers review is currently showing a credit card payment was made on 7/10/23 in the amount of $439.00 to settle the account. ********************** closed and returned the account back to our client, ********. Please note, AmSher does not typically delete our credit reporting once an account is paid. We usually just update our credit reporting to show Paid in Full. However, as a courtesy, AmSher had already submitted this account to be removed from ****************** credit report, allowing up to 60 days for each of the credit bureaus to update. Thank you allowing AmSher the opportunity to address the consumers concerns.Customer Answer
