1 starThis program is TERRIBLE. The browser that they use, guardian or whatever, decided that it needed to update TEN MINUTES BEFORE MY TEST WAS SCHEDULED. When I went to sign into my proctorU account, they said that I needed to confirm it was me in my email. I checked spam, important, main, and even my archived emails to see if my multiple confirmation requests showed up. Not ONE did. I'm sending this message during the time I scheduled my exam. Such a disappointing and terrible program, and I don't wish my fate on anybody. FYI, my exam started 30 minutes ago, and their browser "update" is still on 0%... 1 starProctoru lost my scores and said I have no account!! Although they confirmed I have a username and login. They refuse to take any responsibility for their actions, apologize or give me my money back. I studied long and hard for this test, cleared out my whole office (they checked my ears, my glasses under the table, closets, doors, etc. for the set up). When I took the test I completed the whole test up to number 119 out of 120 and got kicked out of the system. I was unable to get back into their system and it happened again to question number 120 out of 120 (both times when I clicked the Next button for the answer. I logged back in and was able to review my questions and submitted it. I then asked the ******* - when I didnt see a score on the screen - when will I get my scores and when she said she did not know. I asked or shouldnt the scores be listed on the screen and she didnt seem very confident and said Id get them later. I had a really bad feeling. Also, I gave them a ticket number, and no one seems to answer how could I have a ticket number if they say I never took the test. Ticket #******* In any event, you cannot talk to anybody on the phone or if you do you get somebody from ***** who cant give you any help or allow you to talk to a supervisor. They only respond by email so you have to wait each time. And then they take no responsibility for losing the test. DO NOT, repeat DO NOT take a home test. It is not worth the headache and the stress. Talk about reliability, validity and responsibility, thus company demonstrates none of it.Review fromSarah M

1 starTHE WORST COMPANY EVER!! Literally paid almost 30$ to take my final exam in which the ******* screwed me out of. took over 2 hours to even get close to starting exam. NEVER EVEN STARTED, because the ******* kept turning things off in my computer. Not private at all-- they will go through your stuff. Should be illegal, this is the absolute worst experience with anyone I have had. never use them ever. They didn't even refund my money. WOULD GIVE A 0 OR A NEGATIVE IF I COULD!!!Review fromEleanor M

1 starI just needed to set my wife up to take her serv-safe test and it has been the most absolute garbage experience in my opinion. I'll never use this service for anything and intend on removing any trace of it from my computer. Installing extentions and browsers is a huge security risk and should be taken seriously as a Spyware dealer.This process and company should never be trusted with your information as I do not feel anyone at this company is capable of programming things correctly. I've tested my laptop three times, in those three times it tested fine.Finally time to test the test. I jumped through all of the hoops, downloaded three separate items because you cant use Edge browser. It should be fine right? WRONG, it tells me I don't have the correct system requirements. 15 minutes before this test, ARE YOU SERIOUS. THIS IS A $160+ TEST AND WILL HAVE TO FIGHT TO GET THIS REFUNDED DUE TO YOUR COMPANY'S LACK OF SERVICE USABILITY. This whole experience has been a nightmare and might cost someone to lose their job in our family because they aren't competent enough to make a site specificly intended for user friendliness, actually user friendly, or give any actual advice or help on what to do after.If you need to have something proctored, use a different service.Review fromJosh H

1 starI would rate 0 if I could. I scheduled my test a week ago, and then attempted to use the "check my equipment" link to make sure my laptop would work. Chatted with tech support for 30ish minutes. They tried Chrome, Firefox, and ********* Edge browsers, and couldn't get my laptop camera and mic to work. At the time my laptop had no viruses or hardware issues (it still doesn't) and they told me to use a different laptop because they couldn't get mine to work - I've never had a problem with it. I then told the tech that it was their website and decided to wait until my test date. Fast forward to yesterday 4.24.23. Was online waiting for the ******* to connect his name was ************** Not only was he not trained in customer service, he crashed my computer. Again, perfectly good computer, no viruses, no issues until this crash. Luckily that's all happened to my computer, and after rescanning, I still found no issues. After it crashed yesterday, I sent my advisor an email clearly expressing my frustrations. Despite this, I rescheduled my test for today, and after 30 min, the ******* still could not connect via Chrome or Firefox. She asked if I had ********* Edge, I told her that wasn't necessary, and as this was the 3rd issue with ProctorU, I wanted a refund. She told me how to do that, and even that was a pain. In order to get my refund, I had to call a ***** number that I received from a different tech support (via chat), and had to pretend that I was an instructor/administrator in order to physically speak with someone. They refunded the money, but said it will take 3-4 business days (thankfully I have the refund receipt in my email). Even though they refunded I clearly expressed my frustrations to the girl on the phone. She told me the call was being recorded, which for me was great because I wanted these issues to be heard. During my rant, the rep hung up on me. I again emailed my advisor and informed her that the school should no longer use ProctorU. DO NOT USE!! EVER!!Review fromPaetyn D

1 starI took the *** test and paid $220 for it. My ******* for this test was ************************ During the 3rd section of the test, I was reading a long paragraph in verbal section when ********************* Cs microphone suddenly became unmuted. I heard many voices talking in the background. All I heard were people talking and then after a few seconds, she said something but I did not understand what she said (she could barely speak English). Then she said can you hear me? I said yes. Then she said something else which I didnt understand that either. This was all while the background noise of people talking (or maybe a TV was on in the background?) and it was causing a distraction. I only had 5 minutes left of this section and she was interrupting and distracting me. I think it was very unprofessional of her to unmute with a bunch of loud, distracting background noise while I am in the middle of taking an exam . I told her I cant hear what she is saying. She then muted. But it still took away a minute and a half of my time which resulted in me having to answer my last few questions quickly and not being 100% focused. I am also hearing impaired so these noises were very distracting to me. I think what she did was extremely unprofessional. They terminated my test because my ******* simply didnt know what she was doing. During my 10 min break, I had to plug my laptop charger in which resulted in my laptop screen being tilted down slightly. My ******* considered that cheating and terminated my test. I have reached out multiple times and have gotten no solution. I have called ETS several times and no one will answer. I dont think its right for me to pay $220 for a test that got terminated for no reason. Definitely feels like a scam and I was robbed of my money for a test that I didnt even get to finish. I want a refund and I want to complain about the ******* to her supervisor so she doesnt do this to someone else.Review fromLynn M

1 starProctorU invaded my computer after the next day my computer was all unscrambled words and numbers it is not working the same I put in complaints with technician and they seem as though they do not know why but I know they messed up my computer when I go on their website to take my exams it says that their connection to their website has been reset they have cost me money and cost me a grade on my final examReview fromDarren Z

1 starFollowed all ******* instructions, showed them the entire room, whiteboard, etc. to prove I was not cheating. Aside from one moment during the writing response portion when I looked away for a second to think and the ******* said "please keep your eyes on screen," there were no issues during the test that the ******* let me know of. A week after the test I received an email saying my scores were canceled due to "not following ******* instructions." I called the number provided and there was no further clarification of this statement other than to say the decision was final. I paid $220 to take this test and wasted my whole day for it to be canceled. Do not take any at-home test with this company unless it is absolutely necessary.Review fromAlison R

This is a scam. College student/grads, DO NOT use! They took our money and my soon to be college grad was not able to take her test. They would not refund her money. Her classmates had the same experience. They are out the money, and personal information was stolen.ProctorU

Horrible ruined my comouter had to reset it. The proctors dont know hoe to do their job. If a institution or somplecae needs proctor u go somewete else. More then likley proctor u is a data reseller. They have already had several breaches.ProctorU
