Prior to posting this review I did contact A1 several times via phone and their pop up help line on their website and asked for an email address. I was informed they do not give out the email address; really, what company have you ever heard of that does not have an email address? I did send this message via their pop up system on their website asking that it needs to be passed on to a manger. No phone calls, no text and no email has been forthcoming. At the time I did ask the installer to straighten the alloy part of the door where the cable bracket attaches, he did not. I asked the installer to use nuts and bolts to secure the cable brackets as the machine bolts had stripped the threads, he did not. I checked with the larger machine bolts he installed and 2 of them were still lose so I replaced with nuts and bolts and straightened the alloy door.2 Saturdays ago, my garage door failed and my car was held hostage so I made a few calls to various repairers and your company was the only one that could come out before Monday, I needed the car first thing Monday for an appointment. When presented with the estimate I was somewhat shocked at over $1000 but you had me over a barrel so I had to agree and have the work completed. I have no issue with call out fee ($39), installation fee ($165) but have a real issue with the cost of the parts as we both know were outrageously priced some 5 6 times over cost. I checked with Lowes and a pair of springs and cables are $130 the you charged me $780. The going rate for this repair with a number of other companies with parts is in the $500 - $600 range. I wanted to give you the opportunity to address this issue bearing in mind I am a senior citizen and like many other seniors rely on the honesty and integrity of repairers and installers.

This company is horrible. Customer ********************** is awful, they're dishonest. They do nothing but come to your home and try to get you to pay thousands of dollars for things you do not need or want. I tried to get a simple spring replacement for my garage door and almost two weeks later I had to cancel the appointment because they sent out the very same man who had tried to scam me in the first place. My phone calls to the company would be transferred as many as four times in one call, over and over again. I told them repeatedly and they completely ignored my complaints.

The Tech said to Reinforce the Garage (with reinforcement struts) it would be about $3500, which is more than what some local companies charge for an entire door. The A1 tech said that I would need at new garage door AND lift, he said that would run about $8500-$9000, if I went uninsulated it would cost like $7000. I think he was throwing in random cost like maintenance packages etc. either way I wasnt gonna pay that. My garage is from like 1993 so I dont doubt that I need a new garage. I luckily got a couple local companies that would charge $2100 to $2500. Prices are way to inflated and doesnt correlate with service.

A1 takes advantage of unsuspecting customers by inflating repair costs. I have used A1 over the past few years and had numerous parts replaced including motor, rollers, coil and sensors. I had an incident this Spring where door failed to open all the way up and caused me to damage lower panel and break radio antenna on my Kia **** when exiting garage. Again, I had A1 come out and evaluate damage which ended in my having brace installed on damaged lower panel. Due to excess weight of brace, I was also advised I needed to replace coil with larger one. I noticed that bottom roller had come loose at this time which was probably the reason the garage door failed to open all the way in the first place. I feel that I've been taken advantage of by this company and cancelled my service contract as a result.

Wow! Talk about taking advantage of the elderly!!! I had my parents at my house the day A1 was to replace a single spring that was broke since I had to work. A1 talked my parents into replacing other parts (which wasn't necessary on the actual rail and something I could have done). They charged me $1200!!! This is financial exploitation of older adults. Do not use A1 unless you want a ******************* and to charge you for things you don't need! I called A1 to complain but they didn't seem to care. Ridiculous customer ********************** as well! I will never use them ever again and will tell everyone I know to stay clear!

Predatory bait and switch operation. You will call them for a minor repair and they will try to upsell you on things you dont need. A simple repair will turn into thousands of dollars. Do not call this company. They obviously work on commissions. They also hide negative reviews online. Absolute worst!

Im an elderly woman and needed my garage door repaired would not open or close. I asked my neighbors that have replaced their springs and told me it should run about $500.00 . A1 garage came out and told me they have to replace the hole torsion bar for $1500.00. Being a woman and a senior and not knowing anything about garage doors and having to get my stinky garbage out to the street..I agreed. After hours of online searching I couldnt find a torsion bar over $300.00. They charged me over $1200.00 for the torsion bar. Clearly this is price gouging and taking advantage of the elderly SHAME on you! Not to make matters worse they even charged me for a 21 point inspection they said they would wave.

They had me sign a Worry Free membership without telling me that it auto renews, which I never agreed to. I have been on the phone several times trying to cancel and getting the run around. Their sales people use scare tactics to sell you on replacing door where no real need for replacement exists. I no longer trust this company.

I left a ****** review as well about a month ago. We were promised the install of our new garage doors same week. Turned out we had to wait over 2 weeks. Scheduled install, and no one showed when we were told we would be there. No phone call, nothing. We had to call them. Then they said they would be there in the afternoon. Again, no show, no call. We called again, and we were told they had to make sure they could pick the doors up from the vendor. What?? We cancelled our order and asked for our depot back. No call from the sales person to follow up, nothing!! To this day, we have still not had our deposit refunded. I left a ****** review, and got a response stating our deposit would be immediately processed. Here we are weeks later, and it has yet to be refunded. Horrible customer **********************, and zero follow up, despite their claims in their adds. I would never recommend using them. Take your business elsewhere!!!
