On January 8, 2021, the Better Business Bureau requested the business to modify, substantiate or discontinue claims made on their promotional mailer that read display IMMEDIATE RESPONSE TO THIS NOTICE REQUESTED, FINAL NOTICE, I received a Final Notice today 8/15/22 with a fake check for $199.00. They are still at it.

Like many other reports at this site, I received a pink letter from Home Warranty Direct marked "Final Notice", "Extremely Urgent", "Time Sensitive". It said the home warranty at my (correct) address was expiring and I had 5 days to renew. It said the warranty was secured by ****** *** Mortgage. I have owned my house for 45 years, never had a mortgage with ****** **** and never had nor want a home warranty. This mail was received in ********** **********, in August 2022. I reported this to the US *************** The envelope postage box said Permit number 699 mailed from zip code ***** (*********, **********)

Like everyone here, I received a letter stating it was a final notice. Im a first time homeowner, so I panicked thinking this must have been something I forgot to set up. Long story short, I contacted them and signed up for their service, even though there were red flags (like how I didnt receive the first few notices). A few days later I still felt weird about it and called back to cancel the contract. The man I spoke with on the phone was very argumentative and disrespectful. When I told him that I was getting advice from my mortgage rep, he told me she was lying and not to listen to her. He then proceeded to call me ignorant because I kept asking to cancel and get a refund. I closed my card and filed a dispute with my bank. If anyone sees this, please, please, please do not contact this company or give them any information like I did. They are horrible, rude scammers that are trying to take advantage of you!!!

Very shady operation. They send a pink letter stating FINAL NOTICE to scare people and use extremely urgent, time sensitive and immediate response requested. They're also trying to bilk Spanish speakers who may take this scam as legitimate. They should be avoided and reported by anyone receiving their fake letters.

Just sent a copy of this piece of SCAM to the Attorney General of the state in which I live. Id suggest anyone who gets this letter would do the samemaybe we can shut these crooks down - jail time would be a nice touch, too!

Like all the other reviews we received the same letter, but ours was addressed to my late father in law who never owned or lived at our address. We know this is a scam. We also know that our current home warranty has not expired.

This business will lead you to believe your lender supplied a Home Warranty and they want to renew a warranty that does not exist - for a 3 year contract fee. This is a scam designed to cheat hard working people into obtaining a home warranty that does not exist. It is a very deceptive practice from an unscrupulous business. Keep your hands on your wallet.

Threatening letter appearing to be from "county deed records". Used photo from ****** Maps and showed it on the letter and claimed I have only 5 days to respond. Includes a fake $199 "check" labeled "not a check" but made to look like one and identified as a "Registration Fee Voucher". Called them up to find out how much it is. $185 a month for 18 months. Told them I didn't have a credit card or debit card and didn't have my checking account number handy. So, basically wasting ****** (the "finance manager") time. Very deceptive company.
