We bought a battery from there and it was the car never would start after 100 of dollars in other parts we took the battery back a few months ago and they exchanged it ( the battery they gave me has the negative terminal post knotted up) we tried explaining that this is the 2nd battery this one a few months ago that had issues and the clerk started mumbling to herself Im not replacing it the original one was bought in 2022 yes and have now been given the wrong and the last one at least defective batteries. Transaction date: 03/02/2024 Store# **** I bought three items and did not need them after all so I went to return it and thought it was successfully completed.However I realized two days later when no refund was returned back to my debit card that the employee gave me a receipt that said take to cashier. So I went into the store to inquire about my refund. However, the next gentleman who was helping me did not know what to do so now I'm stuck with no refund which the refunds were one was for $96.48 the other one was for $39.99. so I called corporate and couldn't get any help from them either I got placed on hold for a while then was told that they would file the complaint and was going to ask me for more information but then they hung up on me so now I'm without my money, and they have their merchandise I want my money back cashiers not being trained properly. I don't know what to think but I'm very upset. I have been a AutoZone customer for years now and this is the first time I've had any kind of issue like the one I am now I would like this problem addressed and my money refunded.Business Response

I purchased several parts for my car that I didnt need. I went to return these products well before 90 days and I was told since I have new debit card and not the one I purchased with (my card was compromised) all they could offer is a in store credit this is over $600 worth of parts that have never been opened. People get new cards ALL the time, refunds still get issued. They have chosen to keep my funds and I am stuck with these parts. A store credit?? Im disgusted and I would never use this store for anything!!!! BEWARE!Business Response

I purchased a duralast battery with a 3 year warranty in 01/2021. On 12/14/23 I went to the balboa autozone to change out the battery since it was still under warranty and my car had died at work needing me to get a jump to leave. I also left work early using my leave time to handle this issue. The worker tells me that my batter is good but the percentage is down so its not the battery but my alternator. So he asked if I wanted to charge the battery because its not like changing the battery will help since the alternator is just going to drain it. So I waited an hour for it to charge, then another 15 mins because he says that he plugged it into the wrong charger. So finally I have the fully charged battery and make it home. Im able to drive to work but AGAIN my car dies trying to leave work. I have to get ANOTHER jump and go to a mechanic. I pay a diagnostic fee for the mechanic to tell me that nothing is wrong with my alternator, its a bad battery. So I go AGAIN to autozone at a different location and my battery was now testing bad. They changed it out with no issue.However the first location wasted my time and didnt respect my initial requests of just changing out the battery. Instead I was stranded at work and paid additional money to fix what I had already asked to be fixed.Initial Complaint

I purchased a vehicle that had a Duralast battery in it that the buyer said he bought about 8 months ago. The battery was tested and proved defective. Because my phone number did not show I purchased the battery they said no warranty. I called the main office and was told Duralast is their company(it is not). A battery manufacturer warranties the battery not where it was purchased. This is just a way of not having to warranty a part. It is very possible the battery was returned to the manufacturer as a defect, then the company gets a credit for unused months of service.Business Response

I took a battery I bought at autozone for warranty replacement. The dead battery was only purchaed in october 2020 and it was the Gold series of battries that autozone sell that come with 3 year replacement warranty. When I took the battery inside the store at 67th Ave and Bell autozone location, the employee looked up my details and said yes we will replace the battery since its under warranty and dead. He needed the managers approval but when the manager came over he said since this dead battery was replaced under another dead battery warranty, there is no coverage on it. I told him it ****** states in their system that I bought the batteryin octorber 2022 and it still has 3 year warranty peroid but he refused to excnage it for another and told me i have to pay the full amount for the new battery. We spent 30 minutes discussing why this is unacceptable but he refused to honor the warranty. I had to buy a new battery since my car was stuck and coulndt be driven anywhere. After getting the new battery and paying the full price for it, i contacted autozone multiple times and left many messages with their ************************** but no one ever called me back. I want them to honor their warranty and pay me for the battery that I paid the full price for even though it was covered under their 3 year free replacement warranty. If they still refuse to fix this issue I will call my local TV channel and have them resolve this issue.Business Response

I reached out to them before contacting BBB at least 5 7 times but no one bothered to return my calls. if they don't want to solve this matter they can keep ignoring and lying about it like they did when I returned my battery. 6/21/22 - purchased a battery from AutoZone $213.99 in ******* With a THREE year warranty.2/8/23 - battery dead less than 7 months later in *******. Had a new battery put in at an auto shop (not Autozone) I was stalled close to.2/16/23 - Took dead battery to AutoZone expecting a prorated refund. Nothing refunded but gave me a replacement battery, which I dont need. Nor would I ever buy another battery from them!How can an auto store sell c*** batteries and not back them up and leaving people stranded.Business Response
