On September 25th, 2023, I attempted to contact 3 locations in *** to see if you were able to beat the price of ***'s club. Store #1 *************************************************************. Store was busy. I asked for a call back from ***** and never received it. The other person (******") seemed to busy to assist. Called store #2 *******************************************************. Spoke to ****** and he is helping other customers and will be with me. Waiting an unreasonable amount of time and hung up. Attempted at last resort to contact store ******************************************************************. The gentlemen said that "the prices" are $3 different. I asked if he would beat my quote and he could not clarify. After 4 hours of trying i decided to just place a future order from **** club on the tires. On Saturday, 9/16/2023, I went in to install two new tires at Discount Tire, ************************************; then the assistant manager called me into the repair room and told me that the stud on the front wheel (driver side) was already broken! and one stud crossthreaded as it was being taken off on the same tire. He denied and refused to take responsibility for the damage. Then the assistant manager said the car needed to be towed to a repair shop to repair the broken studs. The car was towed to AAA shop on ****************** in Beaverctreek, **. ************** I complained to the assistant manager that their shop (Discount Tire) had done the damage and was responsible to pay the compensation for the repair. I have paid $360 for the repair.Business Response

Today, 09/09/2023 at 3:42 PM, I visited Discount Tire located at ******************************************************************************************. I informed the customer service representative that my ****** Rogue, 2016 had 4 tires replaced on February 18, 2022. I had bought the certificate of repair/refund/replacement. I notice a crack on the front passenger tire and seem deep. The Discount Tire representative checked the tire and agreed that it represent a road hazard because in fact it was very deep. He stated that the certificate was valid, and it would take about 3 hours for the replacement. He advised me to contact someone to pick me up at the store and he would call me to pick up my vehicle when it was ready. I called a family member to pick me up and while I am waiting in the lobby, the rep says that he input all the data in his system and now I owe $97 dollars. I told him that according to the certificate of replacement, I get a refund for the cost of the tire and they must sell me a tire at the exact same price. He stated that he will have the see the wires popping out of the tire otherwise all he can offer is discount. He added that I must have it replace because the crack was deep and I could have an accident. He then added another discount and he wanted me to pay $75. I did not agree because the tire is damage beyond repair and it has a replacement certificate. Why should I pay? what's the point of buying the certificate? I don't think is fair. Discount Tire on State Street sold me wheels and tires that should not have been installed on my vehicle because they did not fit and were unsafe. I asked them to put my original wheels back on with tires that fit since the wheels they sold me were incompatible with my vehicle. They lost one of the wheels they took off my vehicle but assured me they have ordered a replacement and would let me know when its in so I can get the correct product for my vehicle. I followed up at least monthly for over a year and was told they are still waiting on the replacement wheel but would let me know when its in. During this time the products that did not fit my vehicle and were unsafe caused damage to my vehicle, requiring three alignments at over $100 each and body work done where damage occurred because rubbing on multiple parts of the body of the vehicle (damage also caused to the tires also presented an extremely unsafe situation because of the wrong fit). Finally when I called in late 2022 I spoke to a new manager (the fourth manager for this store since the original purchase) and he said that the previous managers had not ordered the replacement wheel and they have since lost the other three wheels as well. He ordered replacement wheels and I purchased the tires that fit. I returned ALL of the wheels and tires that were purchased before this transaction. I was given receipts that show refunded amounts for the products but I did not find out until 2023 that they never refunded the original purchase/transaction to my discount tire credit card. Because this had taken over a year the interest free period from the original purchase passed and I was charged interest on the original transaction that should have been refunded. After contacting the store they told me corporate said its my problem and after leaving a message for the corporate person provided from the store no follow-up was done.Business Response

On 05 Sept 23 I went to Discount Tire **** ******* in *****, ** approx. ****hrs to get my tire pressure checked and filled if necessary and to see about some new wiper blades (I have been to this same location multiple times in the past few years. The young man took a picture of the inside of my driver's door frame(info that contained my tire pressure recommendation and information about the car to include vin number) I told him, "don't do that! I have always requested that whom ever is checking my tires, not to take photos or enter my info into their hand-held device. I have seen some of them take photos of a customer's license plate. The young man said, "it's part of the service and if I won't allow him to he can't help me." This is a safety concen to me!! I believe the information they take WITHOUT PERMISSION is an invasion of privacy and it may be used in the furture to advertise to you or information to be sold.I spoke to a male named ** at approx. **** a.m. he was a manager. He said, "it's out of safety for our customers." I told him, "I believe it is false advertising, as your sign states, "free air check." It is not free if we have to give-up or you "steal our information, you should post something to make customers aware of this or post something like "we reserve the right to refuse service to anyone for any reason." I asked another Discount Tire location for a headquarter's phone number (I was given ************ a male answered, but I had no ideal who he was or what he did, I called another location and was given a number of ************* this was a customer care number for *********************** I spoke to a male and explained to him what my experience was with the Cass St. location. He wanted my information to send an email to a regional person(approx. **** a.m.) I then asked if he could send instead my experience and put infomation out about what I believe is false advertising and making customer aware that their information is being used.Business Response

If you (BBB) communicated with the location of Discount Tires on ******* in *****... I highly doubt they're "looking into it." Sounds like a "blow-off" kinda response to me. So, how long might a response take? Did my information get deleted that I did not give permission for them to have regarding the picture that was taken of the information on the driver's side door? Did they ever think about some people may have a disability and pain that makes it painful and difficult to check their own tire pressure? Don't take a person's information without their permission and disclose the TRUE purpose, let the customer decide if they want to be contacted by you for any purpose!!! In April 2023 I had all of the tires on my wife's ************* replaced along with the warranty on each tire and it cost over $1159.34. From what I was told by the sales rep that purchasing the warranty would mean that if the tire was not repairable it would be replaced. Today 9/1/23 one of her tires was replaced due to a nail inside of the tire which was non-repairable, however I was not told that every time I would get the tire replaced that I would have to pay an additional amount for a certificate which cost $45.66. That doesn't seem fair to me as I was not informed nor was I prepared to pay anything as I was under the impression that since I already paid over $154.40 to cover all the tires, I wouldn't have any out-of-pocket expense in case the tire needed replacing. Discount tire needs to make sure that all of their service reps are explaining the same thing to their customers, no once did the service rep that assisted me in April explain anything to me in regards to a certificate. I am a disabled veteran and although $45.66 is not a lot of money to some, I don't have the luxury to part with that amount of money. I would like this complaint to go to someone who has the authority to authorize a refund of the $45.66 which I had to pay to replace a tire that's under warranty. It may be Discount tire's policy but again it was not explained to me and I was very surprised to have to provide that additional payment to get the tire replaced, especially after paying over $1159.34 in April. Another thing I don't understand is that in April I paid $38.60 for a certificate per tire, why was I charged $40.50 today.Business Response

I bought two tires and warranty on July 5, 2022 from discount tires. I brought the car in to the shop today to get those tires replaced because of abnormal tire wear and bulges. I was told my certificates for refund or replacement doesnt cover it. I was told it was normal wear. I explained how I got an alignment and regular rotation and balance but they wasnt going to honor my request.Business Response

I went to the business to have my tire looked at and bought 2 tires but they do not look like tithe two thats on ************ truck has Never Had a bad ride like it does now. Discount tire should really stop trying to get over on Women. They knew this was going to be A Shaky Ride. They Also went through my Console and left it looking like It had been Ramshacked. 8/24/23 My son went to Discount tire store and was ignored until he just bought his tire to someone in the bay. An employee came to him and told my son that his coworkers told him (the employee) that he had to help my son. As if my son was an undesirable that the others didn't want to help. This isn't OK. I have been tires from this store for years. Why would I support a store who allows this behavior. I spoke to a manager who made excuses and told me we shouldn't hold grudges. Oh really is that what we do hold grudges. Disgraceful. I have noticed a change in this store and this will not be tolerated. All of my tires are covered by coverage and at this point I'd rather patronize an establishment that treats all people as human. I'm not holding a grudge just choosing to shop where I will be provided service without a ******. I think your company would rather not see me or my family judging by your actions.Business Response
