I already knew GoDaddy's reputation wasn't great, but after spending over five days trying to update the nameservers on a domain, Ive had enough. I was passed around to four different chat technicians, none of whom were able to offer any meaningful help. Their only solution was 'wait 24 hours, and it will work'which of course, didnt solve anything. The customer support is nonexistent, and the support team seems completely ineffective. Any other host would have fixed this issue in 2 minutes on chat. I highly recommend staying away from GoDaddy.GoDaddy.com LLC

1 starI purchased a yearly subscription from GoDaddy for $251, under the impression that it applied to my active account. However, ********************** continued billing me monthly. When I called customer service, I was informed that the $251 was actually for a new website, not my existing one. I explained the mistake and requested that the payment be applied to my current website, but was told that wasnt possible. Instead, I was advised that if I didnt continue paying for my existing website, it would be shut down.I requested to speak with a supervisor, who later called back and suggested I submit a dispute. I completed and submitted the dispute form but received no response. After following up, a helpful customer service representative assisted me in locating the account number on the dispute form. Over a week later, I received a generic email stating that I would not be refunded, with no explanation or assistance regarding the $251 loss.During this time, I also reached out to GoDaddy executives via ********, but received no response. This entire experience has been frustrating and disappointing. Given the lack of customer support and accountability, I would not recommend GoDaddy for any internet-related services.Review fromSteven B

My experience with GoDaddy has been nothing short of a nightmare. Since December, I've been locked out of my website due to a forgotten two-factor authentication setup tied to an old phone number. What followed was a Kafkaesque series of interactions that have left me completely and my business crippledInitially, I attempted to regain access through standard verification. After numerous back-and-forth exchanges, GoDaddy requested my government-issued identification. I complied, only to be told that my identity didn't match the account holder. This was baffling, as I am the original creator of the account, which is also linked to multiple email addresses I can verify. Thinking a business partner might be listed as an alternate contact, we submitted her identification as well. This was met with further requests, including a specific demand for her to hold her ID in a particular way. We adhered to these instructions, only to be met with silence, followed by another request for my identification, which they already possessed. The sheer absurdity of the situation, the endless loops of contradictory instructions, and the lack of any clear explanation for the denial of access have been infuriating. When I expressed my frustration, using a single, mild expletive, I was reprimanded for being "unprofessional." Meanwhile, GoDaddy, with access to four separate government-issued IDs from two individuals, remains incapable or unwilling to resolve this issue. They simply stop responding. The website, a simple .org with minimal content, is inaccessible. I am now forced to consider legal action to regain control of what is rightfully mine.Adding insult to injury, GoDaddy has repeatedly refused to provide me with their registered agent information or business address, hindering my ability to pursue legal *********** short, GoDaddy is a black hole of incompetence and customer disregard. Avoid them at all costs. This is not a web hosting service; its a hostage situation.GoDaddy.com LLC

1 starThese people are as crooked as they come! Not only have I sold my sales program, consulting and marketing services for 10 years but they accepted the first credit card payment on my site with no issue. I sell mainly to dentists! My account reflects only payments from dentists. Yet the second payment from an out of state client for a deposit was held. With no service agreement once I complained about holding my funds with no reason to do so they closed my entire account. No proof of anything with competitors offering the same services and not having their accounts closed. I had to pay out of my money to travel to provide service for this client. Airfare, ****, car rental and ******. Only to arrive and have my account closed and no funds deposited. Whats worse they charged me $235 fee for all of this. Not one rep contacted me by phone to discuss the issue. No exactly reason for termination was given although they didnt have a service agreement to confirm reason for payment. Now Im out of state low on cash and my clients money also held. So now I have to wait for payment and continue to burn through my own funds to cover expenses for this client. I called them the fraud department has no number and no one to properly inform you why your funds are being held. I plan to have my attorney look into this. I will find another site for my website. These people are bullys and thieves.Review fromNick J

1 starI only wish I had read all these reviews before I got on board with GoDaddy. We have a website through them as well as in person sales. Months ago they had an update that caused the inventory not to sync. Since then we have had numerous issues with sales happening online for products that were sold in store. We have stopped promoting the website since October of 2024 due to this. The site is still up and gets random sales here and there. I asked for a refund of the in person system as it's not doing what it's designed to do. Months went by and the finally gave me a credit for future purchases. The reasoning was because it's out of warranty. Except when this problem started, it was only a few months old. I'm pretty sure no "real" person actually reads the emails. All I get back is a generic apology saying thank you for your patience. Well I'm out of patience and the next conversation will be with my lawyer. Also, shame on the BBB! How can this company have an A rating when the average rating is 1. It can't get any worse! Do better.Review fromEslam Gamal G

I contacted the *************************** The site responded that my name is not in their records, I believe this is the biggest evidence of your fraud and deception in stealing money.. Note that I contacted customer service to inform me of the data that was sent to the unclaimed property website, and they did not inform me of anything except one message only. The problem is being resolved, and so far the problem has not been resolved, and I have not waived my right.?Review fromMelanie V

1 starGoDaddy charged me $**** to create a website for my published book. The subscription button for readers to sign up for my free eBook didn't function. When I lodged my complaint with GoDaddy, I had to spend about 20 hours on the phone being passed from person to person. GoDaddy ignored a scheduled appointment we had in which they were supposed to call me but did not. Their defense was that "I had already published my web site," which I had to do to ensure that the subscription button was working. After spending 2 hours on the phone with a GoDaddy technician, I was told I would be fully refunded within 3-5 business days. On the 4th business day, GoDaddy had a "specialist" call me to let me know that even though my web site did not function properly, they were not willing to refund me. In the meantime, I received an email from GoDaddy stating that "a functional subscription button was beyond their scope." I had to be refunded from my credit card company. Additionally, the Better Business Bureau was made aware of this entire situation and chose to still accredit them with the notorious BBB stamp, which can only mean that the BBB is for sale. Just because a business is accredited by the Better Business Bureau, it doesn't mean that you can trust that company to do right by you. It simply means that someone within that company paid off someone at the Better Business Bureau, who also told me that this problem was "beyond their scope." What convenient terminology to use with customers who trust in these businesses to do right by a customer, only to fail them miserably and label it as "outside of their scope." I'd think that when you have a division within your company called a "Website creation team," that you'd be able to fully create a functional web site that is capable of capturing email addresses in exchange for a free download. I no long trust GoDaddy or the Better Business Bureau. I am moving my existing domains to Namecheap. BUYER BEWARE!!Review fromGeorge P

Godaddy charged me for an 2nd domain I was not aware of. Apparently I p***aid for 5 years, so they say. The domain I knowingly paid for is needed in order for me to use the ********* email. I explained to the cs *** the second domain makes zero sense and why would I even purchase that. He said someone logged into my account and bought it. I asked him to escalate it and he said they wont do anything about it since it was p***aid for over 2 years ago. Again, no reason I would have purchased the 2nd domain. The cs *** had a bad attitude and proceeded to mock me. As a business owner myself I would have fired him on the spot. This company is scamming like nobody's business! The greed of that sale has clearly made GoDaddy forget why they're in business. It's us the people who keep them in going. Even better, the price just keeps going up! I'm canceling all services! I hope others do the same. Stay far away from this company. There are other complained to choose from that will appreciate your business and give you a fair price. Purely disappointed in these large corporations and what they're allowed to get away with. And how they have an A rating on the BBB is beyond me. I'm sure they just toss the BBB some money to keep that rating up! Every corporation seems to be a sellout! It's a shame.GoDaddy.com LLC

If i could give it negative star or zero. I will. Absolutely ridiculous how theyre customer service is blatantly acting so ignorant when i asked for a status update. I have been given a reference number for a refund and they told me that it will take no longer than a week to get it processed. its been over 2 weeks now and i have yet to see it. Theyre customer service is no use hiding behind - code validation which they never sent to my email or my phone which is by the way the same phone number they were texting me on. I had ask them to call me and they wouldnt. I have several products with them but will not be renewing. I will be reporting fraud to my bank.GoDaddy.com LLC
