I found lamps plus and chatted with a specialist over their web chat who offered to help me place an order (so that he gets a credit for it). I went for it as all of their reviews on their website seemed legit. Shortly after, I found other reviews on trust pilot that reported issues with the lamp and noted that Lamps Plus makes it super difficult to return the product. This gave me a pause - I immediately requested the lamp order to be cancelled (3 times). The person I spoke with said the cancellation is not guaranteed because it has to be approved by their cancellation team. I called her out on this and asked if shes saying they are not going to allow me to cancel this even though it hasnt shipped yet. She then said the order is not supposed to ship until March 5 and that it should be cancelled before it goes out. Shortly after I get an email from the same guy who wanted I place the order over the phone so that he can get a commission on it. Saying that they sent a request and asking if there was a different lamp I liked. He also repeated that the cancellation is not guaranteed. Then I got an email from another customer service person who said that if my cancellation is not approved that I have 60 days to return it BUT that the return needs to be approved by their returns team first and I think you know where is going. I checked my email this morning and got a notification that the lamp was shipped against my will! The sales person said it will not ship until March 5 but after I requested to cancel it, they shipped it right away so that I have no other choice than keep it. This place is awful they use manipulation tactics to make it impossible for customers to cancel or return the product they dont like. This lamp BTW was $50 more expensive than ********** or overstock. I bet their operations are in ***** and they hire part time customer reps in the US to be more credible. I spoke to an elderly woman and two stay at home moms. AVOID at all costs.Lamps Plus, Inc.

Thank you for submitting your claim, *****. I apologize for the confusion regarding the cancellation of your order and your overall experience with us. I attempted to reach you over the phone to clarify however I was able to leave a voicemail. When we receive a cancellation request for vendor items, we submit the cancellation, which gets sent to the vendor to complete the request. Unfortunately, because the merchandise ships from the vendor, we cannot verify how far into the shipping process the item is in, so we let all customers know that the request is not a guarantee. We have gone ahead and requested a stop and return with the carrier to send the order back to our warehouse for a refund. I will closely monitor your order and ensure the reroute is processed if we cannot reach the carrier in time. Im happy to provide a free return label.
