They're just in my simple opinion focused on damaging your profile image and way of living by keeping a foot on the neck of what you would call a credit score. Not a bureau an agency clearly. They take waaaay more from scores than you recieve, just check your notifications on scores and you'll see exactly what I mean! No Transparency!Experian Consumer Services

Thank you for writing Experian(R) concerning your credit score.Your FICO(R) Score is calculated based on the data in your credit report at the time you request your credit report and score. Every time you request a new score, a new credit report is pulled, and your new score is calculated based on the information in your credit report, up to once a day. Be aware, your credit report *** change often. Differences in your score *** be due to a change in balance on one or more of your credit cards, payment updates, or the addition of new accounts. Even the fact that your account(s) is one month older can affect your score. If there are inaccuracies on your credit report, these could also be affecting your score and should be disputed directly with the credit-reporting agency providing that information. In general, there are many factors that can affect an individuals credit score, such as payment history, current debt, available credit to debt ratio, etc. The actual scoring model and its calculations are proprietary to Fair ***** Corporation. Credit scores are usually calculated based on the combination of all the credit factors in your credit report. Your credit score is not based solely on one single item or behavior. So although you *** have done something that you think should have changed your score, the FICO(R) Score actually looks at how this information combines with other information in your credit report and how, if any, this changes your credit score. Your score *** go up, down, or remain constant depending on each factor as well as a unique combination of factors. The score analysis section that comes with your FICO(R) Score should help you understand what specific credit factors had a positive and negative affect on your FICO(R) Score. We hope this information is helpful to you when considering this matter.Review fromF Marie

This company is useless. They use an automated system instead of hiring employees to help customers. Experian is a joke. The automated system can only help with 3 issues. I used the "Contact us" approach and received an email that didn't even acknowledge my issue. On every review response, they give the same comment, " We value the input from our customers and assure you we will give serious consideration to the issues you presented to us. It is through information provided by customers as you that we are able to improve our products and memberships." They haven't improved anything! Experian is a joke. Don't waste your money with this company.Experian Consumer Services

My email address is ********************* my membership number is **************. I don't have a problem with my membership. My problem is with your company. It is impossible to talk to anyone. Your automated system is a nuisance and a joke. It doesn't address every problem the consumer has. I wanted to speak to someone about my why my FICO score dropped last month. The website provides very little information. Two years ago, I signed up for the Experian Boost. It didn't do anything for me even though all my utility bills were paid on time. My FICO kept changing every month. Never could discuss this with anyone. So finally, I cancelled the Boost program. It didn't do me any good.Review fromDC U

Understand that this service does not serve the purpose you may think it serves. I will continue to use it, but cannot recommend it to anyone. It may be the best tool to do what it does, but it doesnt do what you think it does. Experian states in its materials that it provides FICO8 because most lenders use FICO score 8. I have never personally seen a lender use FICO8. Experian uses FICO8 because it is artificially high. Experian is selling you a product, and in order to sell that product they will show you an unrealistically high credit score. To test this, I entered my Experian app to see the score. I then pulled my credit with a creditor *that uses Experian* AND with a bank *that uses Experian*. Both show Experian scores MUCH lower than the score Experian shows me directly. In fact, the bank in question shows a history of scores from Experian that are universally lower than the history of scores Experian shows me. This is a business strategy to satisfy your reward-seeking needs, but actually results in Experian being disliked by customers when they feel theyve been lied to (which is essentially true: Experian tells them what they want to hear and not what Experian tells others). This creates the unnecessary and frustrating situation that customers act on the basis of information from Experian (which is why theyre paying for it), only to find out their scores are MUCH lower than theyve been told. As a result of this, customers may have further negative credit marks due to multiple applications for credit after being misled. The complete absence of customer ********************** (and the labyrinthine automated phone loop) further makes the company unlikeable. Experian is absolutely NOT for assessing your creditworthiness in the marketplace. So, whats it actually for? Two things: 1) as a tool for tracking your personal growth, and 2) making yourself feel good with their attaboy emails. If you need honest credit reports, use banks. Most banks do it for free.Experian Consumer Services

Thank you for writing Experian(R) about your credit score. Our records indicate you enrolled in our complimentary Experian CreditWorksSM Basic membership on January 25, 2020. This membership was upgraded to our paid Experian CreditWorksSM Premium membership on January 14, 2022 and this membership is still active. We realize that you may have seen a discrepancy in the score you received from a mortgage lender related to your credit application and the score provided as part of your membership. We try to make it a point to inform our customers that various scoring models are available in the marketplace and have different potential uses. For instance, we include a disclosure on our site describing the score provided with the credit monitoring membership you purchased. Here, the score that is provided as part of your membership is the FICO(R) 8 model based on Experian(R) data. It is a score that many lenders use in the credit application decision-making process. FICO(R) Scores, ranging from 300 to 850, are developed by Fair ***** Corporation which specializes in developing credit-scoring systems for lenders and other businesses. This can help you see and understand how lenders may view your credit worthiness. It is used by many lenders and is indicative of your overall credit risk. Certain industries may use custom credit scores that are tailored to their specific needs. The custom scores may be unique to a specific industry, such as mortgage lending or auto lending. These custom scores may be created based on information found in credit reports together with other information from the lenders own portfolio, such as account history, work history, monthly debits, etc. We hope that this provides you some clarity as to the discrepancy between the scores you received and the various scores available in the marketplace.Review fromCarmela S

I have been trying to speak with an Experian representative for 3 hours. You can only speak to the virtual assistant and she is very limited on questions she can answer. I even tried reaching the faud department, I had the same issue. You cannot even get assistant with logging in. Not everyone once or have the time to use snail mail. Can someone please assist us?Equifax and Transunion will allow you to speak with a live person to resolve your issues. These two companies still believe in providing excellent service. *This was not an issue with the ************** TRW.Experian Consumer Services

My Experian account was hacked, pin changed, and security questions changed. There was a freeze placed on my account without my knowledge and I found out about it when applying for a car loan. When trying to get into my account, it locked me out. I called Monday October 31st, and was told to call on Wednesday with a "direct number". The number was not direct but sent me to an automated voice message. I used the same answers to get through and was told to call again tomorrow and that they could not help me. I just need to change my personal information as well as password so I don't get hacked again. Super disappointed they do not have a way to better serve customers. Experian also has sub-par security in terms of their electronic conditions. I am happy to mail copies of my information to get into this account but I cannot keep chasing Experian.Experian Consumer Services

It has been impossible to login again to Experian as it doesn't recognize my password, which I am sure is correct, as it doesn't recognize my user ID, which I am sure is also correct and which is the same one they send by recovery email. There is absolutely no support by chat or by email, and the number they provide redirect to an automated system that recognizes only a couple of questions and provide out of date answers that are useless. This is probably the worst service on the Internet. Stay away and never never never give them your credit card.Experian Consumer Services

It's good to know that my credit file is frozen again. I could not do it online because of the login issue. I tried to do it on the phone with the automated system. It said I would receive a confirmation pin although the web site said that there were no confirmation pins anymore, and after I received contradictoryemails about the status of the credit file. Anyway, the problem is still the same, I was not able to login and I have no idea why since Experian is not investigating theissue. I don't know what I will do when I need to unfreeze my credit file again. As for the credit card comment, I was referring to a past experiencewhen I gave my credit card information for a free credit report and then got chargedfees for a bogus membership that was extremely difficult to cancel.Review fromRebekah H.

I have called twice to cancel because the email account I used to set up my Experian account I no longer have access too. In trying to cancel I had to prove it was my account by guessing which student loan was on my credit report (I have over 30 loans) and didnt guess correctly so they wont let me back in or let me out even with my own social security number. Something isnt right and no one will helpExperian Consumer Services
