Horrible customer **********************. Could not be worse. They make it almost impossible to get through to a live agent. Once you have a live agent on the phone, the line eventually randomly disconnects, and they do not call you back. Their website is not functioning, and it appears impossible to reset a password or even to create a new account. Dealing with them costs many hours without a satisfactory resolution, even when you are worried that there might be an issue with your information. It appears impossible to verify if someone has hacked into your information or not. They make everything extremely difficult, and despite having bad customer ********************** experiences with phone companies and airlines, Experian beats them all. Worst customer ********************** I have experienced in a very long time. And the system seems to be set up to drive customers away. This is not any individual's failure but designed this way.Experian Consumer Services

Thank you for writing Experian(R) about your membership. Our records indicated a partial enrollment that was not authenticated under your name. This account has been discontinued. We do apologize for the inconvenience this has caused. Please go to www.experian.com/freeze and set up an account there. You will need to complete the security questions to authenticate your identity and start the account. You will be able to begin one of the following accounts: Experian CreditWorksSM Basic is a complimentary product of Experian(R), which provides consumers access to their Experian report and FICO(R) Score once every 30 days, free of charge, along with monitoring alerts which are updated daily. In contrast, an Experian Service Account does not involve enrollment in a membership. It is an online portal through which consumers may log in to manage a security freeze, as well as submit disputes and review dispute results. If you cannot or choose not to access our online service, you can contact ** by phone *************) or mail (ECA, ***********************************) to assist you.We hope this information is helpful when considering this matter.Review fromYi L

I am actually having a good laugh at this - if you forget your security questions (even though you have your username and password), you will pretty much have an employee with an accent that speaks improper English tell you that you are pretty much locked out of your account forever.Experian Consumer Services

Our records also indicate that our agent reached out to you on August 12, 2022, to assist you with your login issues. Experian is the worst. To try to get a credit report, in ********************************************************************************* **** and was separated for two years before and had no idea what cars he bought or addresses he lived at and Experian refused to send me my credit report. I had to complain to Consumer *************************** and they contacted Experian who only sent me a partial credit report and mistakes on it. Experian gives out numbers to call to speak to a live person, and that is a total lie. The numbers are automated and refuses to give you a live person to speak to. TransUnion always gives you a live person to speak to, gives you your credit report with no problem and Experian does not help you at all. I was told to call my state and district senator and Congressional Representative to complain about Experian plus the Attorney General and I will after this review. Experian lies and gives false information.Experian Consumer Services

Thank you for writing Experian(R) about your credit report. Our records indicate you began our complimentary Experian CreditWorksSM Basic membership on August 3, 2022. This membership provides your Experian(R) credit report and FICO(R) 8 Score every 30 days while monitoring the Experian(R) credit file. We show that you received your credit report on August 3, 2022.We receive credit information from credit grantors who subscribe to our services and public record information from vendors who collect it from the courts or other government offices. Some creditors may choose to report their data to the other consumer credit reporting agencies, and they might not report it to us.Positive credit information may remain on the report indefinitely, although paid closed accounts generally display for up to 10 years from the date paid or closed. Requests for your credit history remain on your personal credit report for at least two years.Accurate information cannot be deleted. Potentially negative information, such as late payments and most public record items, which are obtained from courts and other government offices, remain on the personal credit report for up to seven years from the date of the original missed payment, with the exception of Chapters 7, 11 and 12 bankruptcies, which remain for up to 10 years. Credit bureaus maintain separate records of consumers information. To dispute possible inaccuracies on their credit file consumers must direct their requests to each individual credit bureau. Under the Fair Credit Reporting Act (FCRA), you have the right to dispute the completeness and accuracy of the information in your credit file. For a summary of your FCRA rights, please visit http://ftc.gov/bcp/edu/pubs/consumer/credit/cre35.pdf Listed below is the dispute contact information for Experian(R)Online Dispute: http://www.experian.com/dispute/Mail: ************************************ Telephone: ************** We hope this information is helpful to you in considering your report.Review fromPam B

I had excellent credit on 7/14/22. On 7/28/22 Experian had TOTALLY altered my credit history for ****** **** has now plummeted to 709 from 804. The **** scores are totally different from the scores I monitor monthly. I have ZERO debt & no late payments. The agents that I was able to speak to provided no answers at all. They apparently want me to sit back & totally let them change my credit history without explanation. I sent a mail dispute, but will likely have to hire a FRCA attorney.Experian Consumer Services

Thank you for expressing your concerns regarding the FICO(R) Score 8 included in your membership. Our records indicate you enrolled in our complimentary Experian CreditWorksSM Basic membership on November 7, 2019, with a FICO(R) 8 Score of 714. Our records further indicate a credit report and score on July 13, 2022, of 709 and your final report listed on July 28, 2022, with a score of 709.Your FICO(R) Score is calculated based on the data in your credit report at the time you request your credit report and score. Every time you request a new score, a new credit report is pulled, and your new score is calculated based on the information in your credit report, up to once a day. Be aware, your credit report may change often. Differences in your score may be due to a change in balance on one or more of your credit cards, payment updates, or the addition of new accounts. Even the fact that your account(s) is one month older can affect your score. If there are inaccuracies on your credit report, these could also be affecting your score and should be disputed directly with the credit-reporting agency providing that information. In general, there are many factors that can affect an individuals credit score, such as payment history, current debt, available credit to debt ratio, etc. Here the score that is provided as part of your Experian CreditWorksSM Basic membership is the FICO(R) 8 model based on Experian(R) data. It is a score that many lenders use in the credit application decision-making process. FICO(R) Scores, ranging from 300 to 850, are developed by Fair ***** Corporation which specializes in developing credit-scoring systems for lenders and other businesses. This can help you see and understand how lenders may view your credit worthiness. It is used by many lenders and is indicative of your overall credit risk. We hope that this provides you some clarity as to the discrepancy between the two scores you received and the various scores available in the marketplace.Review fromBeatrice K

ZERO STARS!!! Experian is a joke of an agency. How can you run such an important service and have zero customer **********************!?! If I really had an emergency on my hands I would be *************** just because this company doesn't seem to own a telephone and has an absolutely failure of an automated system. I can't speak to a representative to help me clear up what should be an easy fix. Instead I'm frozen in limbo for weeks while I have to (snail) mail in documents, even the email option is NOT an option, after mailing in documents I have VERY little hope my problem will be resolved! Absolutely ridiculous I agree with others complaining on this website, this company is GARBAGE!! BBB how does this company have an A+ rating, also why is zero stars not an option?Experian Consumer Services

Thank you for writing Experian(R) about your freeze concerns. Our records indicate you had a security freeze on your Experian credit file until August 4, ****, when that freeze was temporarily removed. Once the time frame has past for your removal, the freeze will automatically go back into place. We recently updated our processes for administering security freezes. To add or remove a security freeze, a consumer must initially visit www.experian.com/freeze. Existing Experian members will be prompted to sign into their membership. Experian CreditWorks Basic is a complimentary product of Experian, which provides consumers access to their Experian report and FICO(R) Score once every 30 days, free of charge, along with monitoring alerts which are updated daily. I believed that subscribing to Experian would help me monitor and repair my credit. I did pay off some of the things on it that Experian showed would help raise my score. But they also send me several emails and alerts a week telling me I need to apply for credit cards to help raise my score even more by increasing my available credit. Well Im now in nearly 5, 000 in more debt, and the credit card recommendations continue to come in the app on in my emails np lwhat seems like daily. I needed more discipline with using credit to survive, not encouragement to get into more debt. I will be deleting Experian. So I just dont want anyone else to fall in this trap and hope it helps someone.Experian Consumer Services

Experian has designed a phone and email system that is designed not to meet consumer needs. With forced choice options that do not meet consumer needs. It is designed to fail.I am a victim of identity theft. I want to change my Experian user ID. Instead of offering that option, Experian sends my original user ID to me again and again. There is absolutely no way that a consumer can talk to a person in their failure guaranteed system. By failing to offer me an a way,to correct this situation, they are exposing me to more fraud. The their can enter my account at any time and remove my fraud alert.Experian Consumer Services

Our records also indicate you called in and added a fraud alert to your credit file on July 25, 2022.As for updating your username, that is accomplished while logged into your membership. Thank you for this information. It is hidden and now revealed. I have another complaint. I checked my Experian report today. As you acknowledged, a fraud alert was placed on &/25/22. Yet today In my name there is a pre-aproaved $35000 lan offer from Lending Tree. As you know The thief requested a loan and fraudulent requests were made to ten other institutions. Why are those offers on my account today, more than one week after the fraud alert was made? Please remove all fraudulent requests from my account.Review fromJennifer L
