Solar system was Installed January 2021. Installation price ****** paid in full. Solar system came with a 25 year warranty. I contacted Solar on 9/2024 that two panels are defective. Solar sent a technician out to confirm the panels were defective and needed to be replaced. I been following up with there customer service team for seven months now with no resolution. They just tell me "Will call you when the panels are in to replace".Business Response

This customer has two defective solar panels. The manufacturer has agreed to replace them. They can be shipped to the homeowner directly and he may contract with anyone he likes to swap them or we can facilitate replacement when they arrive. We will be in touch with the homeowner when we receive the panels or the homeowner may be in touch with the manufacturer to receive them directly.

Canceled and installation contract through Semper Solaris' sales representative, **** ********. He stated there were no charges because the job was not started. I have attached my letter to Semper Solaris explaining all of the details, including the harassing, berating approach of their ********************** employee ******* ******. Offered to pay hard costs with proof of Semper Solaris having incurred these costs and I was laughed at by ******.Business Response

This customer has decided to cancel their order substantially past the rescission period agreed to on their contract. Although we are legally entitled to much greater damages we are merely attempting to collect our hard direct costs which are relatively nominal. This customer is in contact with our customer service to discuss the matter. If they prefer we are happy to pursue in small claims.

We hired Semper Solaris for a complete replacement of our roof and for solar equipment installation. We have found out that they use the wrong kind of roofing materials and that they installed the flashing incorrectly and it is already failing. We discovered this by having to hire another roofer to inspect the roof. We have been calling for 9 days for warranty repair and are not getting a single call back or recognition of our calls. We find this to be deceptive and bad business and need a resolution immediately.Business Response

DON'T CONTRACT SEMPER SOLARIS!!! If you don't want stress.. headache.. frustration .. time off work.. unanswered questions.. no show appointments.. disrespect by always having an excuse and keep asking for patience. Paying for solar panels that don't work For More than 6 months from installation and still not working.. months of " we understand " "we get to it" "let me find out what is going on" technicians not showing on set appointments.. we take off work too meet them and don't show nor call on why they not showing .. owner running a business outsourcing contractors when we made sure to ask that question before signing contract and assured they don't subcontract. Safe yourself a headache of paying hundreds of dollars for *********** not working. They don't know what the other is saying or doing and no one resolves the problem. Many .. many **************** UNPROFESSIONAL AT ITS BEST !! THEY DO NOT KNOW WHAT THEY DOING.. NO ONE KNOWS WITHIN THEIR SAME COMPANY.. Any suggestions on what we can do to make this company do right are highly appreciated. Paying ********* .. Is there a way to get our money *********** can take the solar panels and their BS customer service.. The company said i had 5 bussiness day to chabge my mind on there services and if I wanted in thise 5 business days I cancel i would be refunded the $1000 deposit i paid upon canceling after the 2nd day i was charged another $590 to my credit card and was not giving any refund on my deposit so now they have took $1590 from. Me and won't return calls just texts trying to say I agreed to a penalty if I canceled also the person who I signed a contract with rushed me in to signing that day and didn't give me time to read all the documents for the solar and roof I was signing.Business Response

Dear BBB I am writing with regard to our roofing situation which became apparent when we had a home inspection done in February 2025 and I discussed with ****** *** on March 4th 2025 by phone.Five years earlier, we were informed by Semper Solaris in Spring of 2020 that we needed our roof repaired, before we could put on solar panels. WE paid over $12K for the roof to be removed, repapered and broken tile to replaced. Shockingly after the fact and payment, our request for a warranty on the work performed was denied as Semper Solaris claimed that warranties were only available on newly installed roofs!The home inspection was done as we were selling our home and noted broken roof tiles. We were surprised, having replaced all broken tiles just 4 1/2 years ago but thought that there may be a few from slippage. We called Semper Solaris with regard to thee situation on 2/14/2025 and left a message and got absolutely no response!We had to hire a roofing company to assess the situation and were shocked to discover over 50 broken tiles on the roof. No one had been up on the roof since the Semper Solaris solar solar installation crew so we must deduce that they are responsible for the damage and the ultimate $2700 cost that we incurred to repair the roof and close escrow on time.Our expectation is that Semper Solaris reimburse us for the $2700 cost that we incurred. We have written twice to Semper Solaris in this regard sending an invoice receipt, along with pictures and video of said roof, without any acknowledgement or response from Semper Solaris!Business Response

Subject: Complaint Regarding Contract Breach and Unresolved Delays - Semper Solaris
To the Better Business Bureau,
I am filing a formal complaint against Semper Solaris regarding a contract for the installation of three solar panels, which I entered into on July 31, 2024. According to the contract, the installation was to be completed by October 2024. As of March 18, 2025, the solar panels remain non-operational, despite full payment on my part.
Semper Solaris has attributed the significant delay to Southern California Edison (SCE) and alleged changes made by the utility company. However, Semper Solaris has failed to provide any concrete evidence to substantiate these claims or to offer any form of compensation for the substantial loss of solar energy production I have incurred.
The prolonged delay and lack of resolution have caused me considerable inconvenience and financial loss. I have explored potential legal avenues and may pursue further legal action if this matter is not resolved promptly and satisfactorily.
I request the Better Business Bureau's assistance in mediating this dispute and ensuring that Semper Solaris fulfills its contractual obligations and provides appropriate compensation for the extended delay.

The system has been installed and passed inspection per contract. This is a non-export system. Customer is not suffering any financial harm as they are perfectly free to use the panels. Southern California Edison has been very slow issuing PTO for these projects but they are coming in. This is 100% outside of our control. If the homeowner wishes to verify they could simply call Southern California Edison. Our contract specifically delineates that we are not responsible for the timeline for SCE issuing PTO as the speed of their action is not controlled by us. Obviously we have no motivation to delay things and obviously the utility company does. I think this customer should file a BBB complaint against the utility. We will continue to follow up with the utility about this matter and the homeowner may do so as well. Also, we have not yet been paid in full

I would like to respond to Semper's claims. The attached document addresses inconsistencies in their response and provides supporting evidence for my claim:
1. Direct response to their message.
2. Timeline
3. Payments
4. Communication from SCE to external partners regarding new process along with pamphlet outlining changes (prior to the installation of my panels).
5. Voluminous communications via email with Semper representatives to voice questions and frustrations. These do not include phone calls nor text messages.
6. Snipped of extensive communication when I was informed by SCE the project was being withdrawn.
I will repeat what I said in the document - Semper’s communication throughout this matter has been

There's not much more to discuss here. We have applied with the utility. They have approved other such applications and will approve this one in due course. We have no control over the utility. Customer may also follow up with the utility although the utility is likely to lie. We've successfully commissioned over 80,000 solar systems in California. This one will be no exception however there is a delay 100% due to the utility dragging their feet. The homeowner should direct their ire in the proper direction

This response is flippant, arrogant, and in the very least, impudent. I realize that Semper may enjoy a wide clientele in the area, but that does not excuse their behavior in my case. They were given warning about changes to the non-export process and instead chose to either ignore it, or blame the utility company for delays. If fact, if Semper had been on their toes and been more proactive, then delays could have been minimized significantly. I do plan on following up with Semper's leadership to find out if the opinion being offered by this representative is truly the corporate philosophy. If so, then I am doubly disappointed with having decided to give my business to a company that clearly thinks they have no responsibility in their partnerships or dealings with customers.Initial Complaint

I have been dealing with getting my solar system repaired since November. You can only talk to a message center. They take down all your information, then say someone will call back in 3-4 days. A receptionist will call on Saturday & say technician dont work on the weekends so will call back Monday or Tuesday. No one calls then start whole process again. If do get a recitation to come he comes late needs parts will be back within the week. It doesnt happen & process starts over again. Now the battery fell off the ******** made another message!Business Response

I paid almost $17,000 in June 2016 for them to install 12 solar pannels on my roof. I discovered in December 2024 that the system stopped producing for more than a year (we use power conservatively and don't get bill till end of year). I called them immediately and asked if someone could come out to find out the problem and fix it. After so many phone calls and emailed, 2 guys finally came on 2/12/2025 and had it fixed, or so it seemed. The system worked for 2 days and stopped again since. They charged me $300 for the visit. No one ever called me to follow up and see if the system was fixed. This company is the worst in my life that I have ever dealt with.Business Response

The solar system installed by Semper Solaris three years ago is not working. Our electric bill has increased to pre-system levels.I have been calling them for a tech to come and inspect their system and fix the problem.
