I contacted Semper Solaris in August because I have a broken solar panel that is a fire hazard. Their employee broke a solar panel in a previous visit per my neighbor. I said I would pay for the repair because I can not prove that it was broken when their tech sat on it. They sent someone to look at the panel and I asked to have it fixed at that time(October). I asked to allow me to have someone else repair, but it voids my warranty. They have my credit card info, I have signed the contracts. They have not answered my phone calls or emails for the last two weeks. I am going on 8 months with a fire hazard.Business Response

Thanks for reaching out about this.
We we'll get a hold of this customer to get this scheduled. We can handle the repair obviously but for the record having a third party repair the panel would not void any warranty unless they damage the system.

I had simple salaries put 2 sets of panels on my roof At two separate times My first set was 16 ********* second set was six panels I have paid over $30,000. I called about solar panels in December. Notice that 5 of 6 panels in my second set weren't working. They sent a tech out he couldn't figure it out he left. I didn't hear back from them. I called on January 13th And let them know the panels still weren't working. They opened a case number. I talked to someone. Let them know that 5 out of 6 panels still weren't working and that my true up is bill going up. They said they would look into it. I called back January. 18th got no results. It was another case number opened I call back january 20th And again on January 28th, my panels haven't been working since December. So far, the only thing I get is I will contact you. I would like them to pay some of my true up. Bill $1,595.75. And fix my panels.I still have over 15 years warranty on my second set of panels and 10 years on my first set of panels.I would like them to hold to their warranty and fix them.Business Response

On 2/18/2022 a contract with Semper Solaris was signed for a new 50yr roof and a 20 panel whole home solar system with battery backup. The first incident was an undersized ground wire they installed had burnt up inside the conduit and we had to wait for them to run a new wire. Shortly after that a panel and or microinverter had failed and needed to be replaced another failed in 2024 and we received a replacement from enphase, Semper Solaris took weeks to respond even though the replacement part was on site for a month and multiple calls from enphase and from us before a response was received and the repair was made. The monitoring devices called CTs are not placed correctly and the power from our batteries is being shown as it being pulled from the grid resulting in incorrect power consumption and wasting money. The performance of the system is not what it claims in the contract as it states 20 panels of 370w each totaling 7400 ** *****. After spending hours of time on the phone with enphase and weeks of documenting performance issues that enphases engineering department had to do troubleshooting and were too puzzled as why the system was under performing and came to the conclusion that the CTs need to be moved this has been over a year waiting on Semper Solaris and they have basically refused to move the CTs. Now as of February the 50 year roof leaks and Ive received no call after leaving messages. We have had the utility meter unlocked for over 6 months waiting for the CTs to be moved. The main circuit board had to be replaced in the fall of 2024 and we discovered in the time frame between the 2nd microinverter failing and the circuit board failing, the microinverters that were installed are only rated for 280w each maximum and in the contract it says nothing about 280w, it clearly says 370w. So the system will never produce more than 5600w not the 7400w that the contract stated. There is way more issues than I have space. Charging for me to use my batteriesBusiness Response

I have a contract with Semper Solaris for solar panels and batteries. I signed the contract a few months ago and havent heard from them since. Theywere supposed to install in the month of February and nobody has contacted me at all. The sales person was nice when he was selling, but I have to almost threaten him to get him to answer any of my text messages. I filed two complaints with answering services of Semper Solaris. I just want to warn people not to use this company. I believe they are incompetent and untrustworthy.Business Response

Hello, Thank you for reaching out about this.
We Did have a misunderstanding with this homeowner. When we reached out to schedule an initial site assessment prior to permitting we believed the homeowner had asked us to come in February. It turns out he was pointing out that the job should be completed by then. Consequently the job has been on hold in the intervening time frame. However we have done work for this customer in the past and our company is hardly a scam considering we are one of the largest solar roofing contractors in all of ***************** and we don't make money if we don't actually do the work. We have reached out to this homeowner to see if they would like to proceed or cancel.

My solar system has been down since early December. Once it was brought to my attention I called enphase to help trouble shoot why my system was down. They warrantied a circuit board and sent it to me. I have been calling and emailing Semper Solaris for over a month! Never recieve any call back or return emails. The one time I finally got a human on the phone, they said they would expedite my claim. And here we are over a week later with no communication! If I have someone else come change the part, it voids my warranty with Semper Solaris. So now I am paying for a system that doesn't work and they don't care enough to help me! Ever since day 1 this company has been nothing but problems! They screwed up the initial install, and they are the kings of NO COMMUNICATION! My lawyer will be getting involved in making this right!Business Response

Hello thank you for reaching out about this
We have been in communication with the homeowner regarding the circuit board sent from Enphase
It Is not true that his warranty would be invalidated by using another contractor for his replacement. Any authorized enphase dealer can do the work of which there are thousands in ***********

I'm a current solar customer of **********************, I learned some months ago through getting pretty high true up charges from PG&E that my solar panels were faulty. I contacted Semper solaris to look into the issue and they mentioned that 20 of my inverters are faulty and need to be replace, since ******** went on bankruptcy I no longer have warranty coverage and have to pay full. I agreed to this and got a discount from SEMPER SOLARIS. I paid the deposit of ***************************************************************************************************************************************************************** manage expectations. Last response was on 11/25 and from then on pure radio silence.... and they already charged me the deposit without any more info shared with me. I just want a date to get the project done. On November 20 I learned that the solar system on my house was not working properly. I called the company who manages my energy collection (Enphase). They did diagnostics over the phone, determined the issue and directed me to call my installer, Semper Solaris. They followed up with an email with all of this information (attached). On November 21 I placed my first call to Semper and gave them all the information I had from Enphase- the person told me someone would call back to schedule the service. I received a voice mail on November 22 asking me to call back so they could gather more information. I called back that same day - the person then told me that someone would call me back in 5-7 to schedule the appointment. Needless to say nobody called. So I called back on December 5 - this person told me I would receive an email in 1-2 days with a link to schedule the appointment - this person sent an email documenting our call (see attached), but I never received an email to schedule an appointment. On my December 9 call- this person told me I would receive an email within 24 hours that I could both sign a form consenting to my property being accessed and schedule an appointment-they too sent an email documenting our conversation (see attached) but I never received an actionable email. I called again on December 11- same story although now I would receive an email in 72 hour- this person documented our phone call (see attached) but I have not received a follow up email and I believe I never will. In my Dec. 11 phone call I asked to speak with a manager and the person said that would not be possible as she can only take information. All I want is a service appointment so the technician can change out the faulty breaker. My electric bill is already triple what it would be if my solar were functioning properly. Please help me.Business Response

Semper Solaris installed a solar system for us in 2020. In May of 2024 our system began underperforming based on the monitoring tools we have. Primarily, some panels weren't producing as much as they used to. I notified the company, early on we did some diagnosis, a technician came out and identified that in fact yes, a number of panels were producing less than expected. He called out burned out diodes. Semper Solaris attempted to get an *** with the vendor which was supposedly declined initially and later on approved. This was in June. Since then, it's been week after week of follow-up phone calls with zero movement. It got to the point where I would get follow-up calls twice a week with nothing occurring. Around August I did my semi-annual roof cleaning and found out the technician disconnected 4 of my panels without letting me know. I lost 2 months of solar production from said panels.Around September, Semper Solaris told me my panels are at a port on the ********** while the strike was going on. It is November now and I just got the same answer today. It has been 6 months with zero progress with this system underproducing its expected output. I can honestly say, this is the worst customer support I have ever experienced. It is disappointing to see a company that supposedly supports our veterans acting this way.Business Response

Hello thank you for reaching out about this.
This customers panels are being replaced under warranty by the manufacturer. They are currently at customs at the ********* border.
Customer Answer
Date: 11/20/2024
In September of this year 2024, Semper Solaris customer service told me the panels were on the east coast at customs. Release date was unknown due to the strike at the port. The strike has come and gone
Now the panels are in ******?
I will repeat, it has been 6 months since my issue, I don't have a delivery date and I am getting a run around about the location of my panels. Every single vendor I have worked with that ships their products from overseas provides tracking information. This is 2024, Semper Solaris has been in business since 2012, your company cannot provide me with a reasonable feedback on the delivery of my equipment? This is despicable.

Thank you for reaching out
This customer has a couple of solar panels that are working but underperforming. They are covered under warranty by the manufacturer. We are waiting for the replacement panels to be supplied by the manufacturer. Once we receive the panels we will install them. The customer is welcome to reach out to the manufacturer directly if they wish to verify anything we've told them. They are waiting at the ** Mexico border according to the manufacturer.

Semper Solaris installed eight panels and inverters on my garage roof in 2017. These panels stopped working in July of 2022. I've contacted the company over the past three plus weeks and talk or emailled over eight different employees and nobody was able to direct a service technician to look at the panels and suggest a resolution to the problem. The panels and inverters both have 25 year warrantees with the labor included in the panels but not for the inverters. I want them to inspect the system and find the problem.Business Response

We have been trying to resolve our issue since Sept 2024 with ******** and they are unable to assist as they are claiming our equipment is too old they also claimed bankruptcy and because of that Semper Solaris will not help us either. We have no monitoring system and according to ****** our system is not producing properly for the last 3 months. We now have a 900 end bill and we can't get anyone out from Semper to service or assist us! Ridiculous how they treat customers especially veterans!Business Response
Date: 11/18/2024
Hello and thank you for reaching out about this
Based on this customer's physical description of the monitoring equipment and the fact their electric bills are showing solar production we know that this system is working. Most likely the equipment is no longer online. We do offer free technical support over the phone. We are happy to come out as a paid service call to troubleshoot this customer's internet. If we get there and it is instead a problem with workmanship that would be covered under warranty.
Customer Answer
Date: 11/18/2024
it is not a internet issue. No one has provided support over the phone. Our monitoring system has filed for bankruptcy and according to ****** we are not producing as we should be. We have never had a year end bill this high so why all of sudden! Why is it our problem to fix the monitoring system? **************** is horrible can't return anyone calls and $500 fee to come look at our system that should still be under warranty already for a problem that is not ours!Business Response
Date: 11/21/2024
Unfortunately we are not able to agree
- it is an internet issue
- the monitoring system is not under warranty
- this system is working
- the customer's bill is higher due to a combination of increase usage and radical increases in the cost of electricity. A simple ****** search will confirm this
- we are happy to come out and take a look but there will be a service charge unless we discover at the time of our visit that any error is due to our own workmanship issue
- we do provide phone support
