      I received a flyer from direct tv quoting a promotion for new users. I switched to direct tv and after receiving my first bill, i immediately called to see why the bill was inflated from their quoted price. They told me the price was without taxes even though I boldly said I want what I will be paying with taxes. I then asked about the gift card which I was promised in the letter and was told that was a scam their 3rd party vendors use to get people to sign up. They knew about this tactic and still allow it to happen. I was told I would not be receiving any promotional deals nor would they help out on the amount since I was quoted wrong. When I told them they represent you as an employee since you hire them to get business for you and they said well yes be we are not responsible for their tactics. They represent you and I gave my financial information to them and they said I should be fine because they actually did create an account through **********************. This is wrong and I feel direct tv should fulfill the promotions since they were represented by direct tv as a contractor employee. To know the contractors are using scams as he said and still continue to allow it to go on is a deception of the consumer.

      I was sold Direct TV by Prime Time Sports in **; by ****. I have 2 *************** signed me up, convincing me that I would have all the baseball ************** with no extra charges. It was going to be $194.99 a month & $15 for each receiver. That is my agreement. However, 3 months ago when Direct TV was negotiating with ***, I started receiving bills showing I had taken out the *** Sunday Package. I notified Direct TV as soon as I received my bill. I have been calling them every month since (3 months). I kept getting told they were looking into it, they said someone by the name of ****** requested the service. I have no one by that name working for me at either place. Today, I come in to find my service is shut off. Direct TV has no office open to speak with anyone. In order to open my place of business & have TV Service I was forced to partially pay the bill. I have left message for Prime Time ************** I will be contacting Direct TV again Monday. I need legal representation to go after ****************************** Time for fraudulent charges & stress for service I never approved. My establishments don't seat more than 35 & 45 people, I would have never approved $2,000 or $3,000 for a sport package. I don't even make that kind of money to pay for a service with that price tag. One of my bars was charged $10,000, we seat 35 people tops. The business is only ***** sq ft! They did reduce the $10,000 to $3,000; however I NEVER approved it to start with! **** from Primetime Sport is a ******************************** does nothing to resolve it even after countless calls to say turn it off, I did NOT order it.

      Notice all the 1 star reviews that say they would have graded Direct TV as zero stars? Believe it!My elderly mother's debit card recently had some unauthorized charges show up so the bank froze that card and is sending her another. In the meantime, her Direct TV bill came due but auto payment failed as the debit account has been frozen. To avoid this kind of thing in the future, I went to the Direct TV site to set up her auto pay using checking account. On the site there are multiple references to setting up auto pay using a checking account. Tried for about an hour to figure out how to do that with no success. Finally called Direct TV. Guess what? You cannot use your checking account. They only accept debit cards or credit cards. My mother doesn't use credit cards. I asked if they could extend the due date so that she would have a chance to receive her new card from the bank but no. Since she is homebound, TV is her only entertainment so I don't want it to be cut off. I decided to give them my card info to make this month's payment with the thought that we will re-do auto pay when she receives new card. But can you just give them card info so that they can charge the amount to you? ****. They will have to send you a link which you will then have to navigate so that they can authenticate something and then you can contact them again to give the card info. What? Definitely seems like the best course of action is to NOT do business with Direct TV and that is what we will be doing. BEWARE OF DIRECT TV. APPARENTLY THEIR MISSION IS TO MAKE EVERYTHING AS DIFFICULT AS POSSIBLE!

      How are they authorized to double take payments off your card and when you call to get a refund for your money back they say they put it toward the balance on the account thats not right we know we owe you but if we want our money back that you was not authorized to take and we ask for a refund and you say you put it toward the balance which you wasnt authorized to take anyway its not your money thats not right DIRECTV stealing money from people on fixed income and want refund they money back which they too high anyway charging you for everything even to watch TV they are a ripped off they need to be investigated by the *** for charging people these unbelievable prices to watch TV the government should look into this its not right for you to take people money without them authorization it even if they do owe you if they say they want they money back they have a right to get it back STOP STEALING our MONEY a mad CONSUMER DIRECTV *****

      Diretv had been charging me all year only for me to find out no service was rendered. I had called several time to correct the issue. Today after 2 hours on the phone and billed for over 1600 dollars on charges they offered a 35 dollar credit . Basically they dont give service and charge my account. They denied to cooperate to give credit back. They should not be charging if they are not giving the service we had agreed on. This is no different than fraud. I wished there were negative stars too. 1 star is too many star

      If I could leave no stars - I would. Service has been NULL - mind you it is a vacation home and we are not really there - it was only mentioned to me after years of paying for a service that did not work for a long time (we just never had the time to go meet with tech) that we could put account on vacation mode. I placed the account on hold till thanksgiving and got a bill 30 days later _ Aug -Sept 30th $230.00! for basic cable ! surprise, they increased my service fee and re-started the account without notice. So I had to pay the month - Each time I call it is different information. First they said we had to call to re-start service then they say - no we only do 30 days - even though it states 9 months ttl for a year on website. Then they said no it's 6month. Nothing but fake - pretend to care CSD offering no help or support. Just pay. Worst part is they are the only company in the area. Unfair as they are and have been taking advantage of me for a while now. Looking to cancel and find other means - so frustrating - beware of false statements and contract fees as they change them at their convenience without notice.

      We moved out to the country in 2008 when there were limited options for TV. We chose DIrect TV. We paid $300 for our dish at that time and we had to pay the installer another $200 for him to cut a 10 foot trench to sink our line to our home. We have been a loyal customer for most of the last 16 years minus one year where we chose to take a break from TV, We finally have access to highspeed internet and made the decision to sign up with Spectrum in September 2024. On Oct 8, 2024, we called to cancel direct tv. The ***resentative stated that we were paid up through Oct *****. We were sent an email confirmation the same day stating that our final charge would be a contract early termination fee of $60 for the mo of oct, nov and dec, along with a $4.50 tax fee. This email clearly states that there will be $0.00 ongoing monthly charges. To our surprise, in oct our bill did not show that we had terminated our service and our bill was $261.20. I used the chat feature, spoke to Nischi, to try to resolve this without satisfaction as she kept saying that they bill for the full final month. My husband then called again and was told that they see we cancelled on 10-08-24, he stated that the bill would be adjusted by the end of the week and if not call back. I checked the bill today and now the total is $304.20 (the oct bill plus $43 early termination fee). Again, my husband called to discuss this and was treated very rudely, the *** would not confirm seeing the previous communications and was of no help at all. I am at the point that if this does not get resolved to our satisfaction that I will have no choice but to ***ort this company to the *** for fraudulent practices.

      This service has been a miserable one, and it is just another example of a grimy corporate fees and transactions. When I initially signed up for the service, it was just for my parents to have so that they could watch the sports that they want to watch. The dude (who I could barely understand) told me $100 a month, and I said ok. After a few months, the bill went up to like $120, and then it became like $165 per month for the same service. So i called and said that it had gotten too expensive and that I would like to cancel the service, and they refused to cancel it for me and said that I had to call another number to basically see if I could get a better price. After about 3 lunch breaks of trying to wait on hold to speak to someone, I gave up. I have been trying to get a lower bill, even cancelled some packages and that did not do anything. Now, I haven't paid in almost 2 months because they say that I am locked into a 12 to 24 month contract and will be charged an early termination fee. They will not get one more cent from me, if I am given a shipping return address to send the equipment back then I will do that, but I bet that there is some deadline or something to meet that I won't make. This place survives off of late fees and fine prints that s**** you over, and the support calls are legit people in like ******** who cannot understand you. I have never been so upset or annoyed at a corporation like this before in my life. NEVER, EVER, sign up for this shady, misleading company.
