Purchased what I believed to be a one time delivery of facial products for $65 from Crepe Erase and woke up this morning to a PayPal notification of pending charges for $108.20 from Crepe Erase (Guthy Renker) for a subscription I was not aware I consented to. I contacted Crepe Erase and was told they could not cancel my order as it has been shipped. This was a Sunday and I questioned how this could be possible as the money has not yet been removed from my financial institution. She said it was not possible and I would need to ship the product back at my expense for a refund once the product was received. I said fine and paid the $108.20 but made sure they cancelled any future deliveries. Now I am being told that the $108.20 was a partial payment and I still owe $216.36. I an a professional Corporate Purchasing Manager for 20 years and if I can't see this scam, I understand why there are so many complaints. This business works with extremely deceptive tactics and tricks you into subscribing at an outrageous cost and makes it very difficult to understand what you are agreeing to. Just to note, we do offer one-time purchase options on our website as well as by phone, so you can order without subscribing. However, customers who choose to place one-time orders are only offered our retail prices. Replenishment customers are offered many great benefits including discounted prices, free gifts, the ability to customize future shipments, and the ability to customize shipping frequency.
On 10/15, per the terms of the agreement, your 2nd shipment (a 90-day full-sized supply, with cost split into 3 payments) began processing for delivery as scheduled. We received an approved payment authorization from PayPal at this time.
On 10/16, per your request, your account was cancelled. Information was provided regarding your 2nd shipment, remaining payments, and the 60-day satisfaction guarantee available since orders that have processed for delivery at the time of cancelation cannot be prevented from shipping and will continue to bill until paid in full or returned for credit.
On 11/17, the 2nd payment for your 90-day replenishment shipment was charged as scheduled as no return had been received. PayPal reversed this payment; while this chargeback created a credit in your favor with your financial institution, it restored the payment as due and payable. At this time the auto past due billing process was activated to send monthly notices advising of the balance.
Although our records do not reflect any returns received on your account to present date, as a gesture of goodwill the remaining balance has been cleared.
Your Crepe Erase account remains closed, with nothing further to be shipped or billed.

Horrible company! I ordered a sample and received a box full of things I did not order. I canceled any further orders. Next thing you know, I receive a notice of shipment for $238 worth of product I never ordered. I canceled again and removed my payment option. They continued to attempt to hit my credit card. Then they shipped the $238 worth of unordered product and sent me a bill! I hate companies like this, regardless of whether the product is good or not, this is a horrible way to do business.Guthy-Renker, LLC

I purchased a $64.75 one-time product package and charged on September 14, 2023, via my PayPal account. On October 16, 2023, the company automatically charged my PayPal account without my permission $275.21. This company has committed fraud by falsifying unwanted purchases by auto-enrolling me to an unknown subscription with this company. When attempting to contact the company and request the money, they did all but admitted to their crocked actions by offering to provide me with a discount of 20% if I kept the product. If the representative had not mentioned the "next" delivered was not until January **** - I would not have known this fraud was going to continue. I was adamant about having my name removed from their listing and cancel anything they were not approved to do in my name. I had to call back 3 more times to assure this fraudulent activity was cancelled. This was also reported to PayPal, however per *************************** falsified auto subscription PayPal Denied my request to refund my money. Per your phone request on 10/20, your subscription was cancelled. Information was provided regarding the full-size shipment still in transit. You were offered a 20% refund off the total cost of your 2nd shipment as a courtesy but when declined return instructions were provided. On 10/23, we received a notification from PayPal of your dispute.
We received your call on 10/27 about return instructions. Our records reflect that a 20% refund was again offered, and this time accepted rather than returning the full-size shipment. The attempted refund was declined due to the PayPal dispute in process.
On 11/2 per your phone inquiry, information about the declined refund and dispute was provided. At the time of your call, we had not received notification from PayPal regarding the resolution of the dispute and were unable to issue a refund until the dispute was resolved.
After recently receiving notification from PayPal that the dispute was settled in our favor, the promised 20% refund was issued on 11/21. Please allow 3 - 5 business days for the funds to post.

CrepeErase as a company is HORRENDOUS!! I am being charged monthly for product I have not ordered, They will NOT let me CANCEL my perceived subscription. I was told directly by their phone representative that it takes more than four months for the product to begin working BUT the money back guarantee is only 90 days!!!! I have spent two miserable months trying to cancel the **** SHIP that I NEVER agreed to!!! I have now filed a complaint with my state attorney general. I was told by my credit card provider that I have get get a new **** card # in order to stop this INSANITY! This is a scam and all for a product that does ABSOLUTING NOTHING to fix crepey skin. Information was provided regarding the remaining two payments for your 2nd shipment and the 60-day Money Back Guarantee which would expire 11/7.
On 11/6, we received your phone inquiries regarding your account. During your initial call your account was cancelled per your request. Also, just to note, there are different fragrance choices available. I purchased the Perricone Sub-D introductory offer at their enticing price. Looking back, in small print, it states I will be "enrolled in an auto-delivery program." and that details re: price and details will be on the order summary. This information is at the very bottom of the purchase order summary, which most people will not see. After charging my initial introductory purchase, my bank notified me, several days later, of a second Perricone attempt to charge my card. The bank cancelled my debit card and replaced it. One month later, I was charged for a full price order.( It was charged on my NEW card number, which is a little concerning). I didn't receive an email regarding this purchase. I saw it on my bank statement. I am submitting this review to warn consumers of misleading marketing, and potentially shady business practices.Guthy-Renker, LLC

Beware of "introductory price" offers, because they will automatically sign you up for a subscription at a much higher price without you having to create an account or anything. I bought a jar of cream by PerriconeMD for $70 and a month later was charged over $220 for a subscription I never agreed to. I found an email with a very ************** number at the bottom that I called and was able to cancel the subscription, but I now have to return this second shipment at my own expense and hope that they actually process my refund. This is infuriating and I will NEVER purchase any products from either of these companies again.Guthy-Renker, LLC

Should have checked BBB first. Called and cancelled all future shipments. I was never able to successfully sign into my account. Tried multiple times every month for five months, always receiving error messages. Tried using a different browser, resetting password multiple times, nothing worked. There is still one more (November) billing left for the second, 'every three month' automatic shipment I received in September - for which I received no "heads up" email. Reputable companies offering automatic renewals or shipments usually notify customers of those upcoming renewals or shipments, and/or their associated ********, reminding customers should they need or want to make changes to their subscription. Did not receive any such communication; only the initial thanks for the initial order, followed by multiple sales and discount offers in my inbox. For the record, ******, the customer care team member I spoke with in **************** at the number they provide, was a trooper. She did her job well. My background is in **************** Mgmt and this gal is worth her weight in gold. She exhausted every bullet point at her disposal. There is nothing she could have said that would have changed my mind, however; I am that dissatisfied with the company. To her credit, I initiated the cacellation call today at 11:16am and the requested confirmation email hit my inbox less than 20 minutes later at 11:34am.My dissatisfaction is not with the product overall. I think the products are, on average, pretty good; it's more the online website and business practices I have the most problem with. When I couldnt sign in to my account, I ran a "Blacklight" scan of crepeerase.com that found 49 ad trackers and 69 Third-Party Cookies, ridiculously higher than the respective averages of 7 and 3. (Perhaps the website didnt like my security program.)After all is said and done, I prefer to spend money with companies that treat their customers with more respect as a matter of course.Guthy-Renker, LLC

Per your phone request, your account was cancelled 10/17. We regret that we were unaware prior to your cancellation request of any difficulty you had accessing your online account since we do have support staff available to assist with that issue. Just to note, once a membership is cancelled the online account access is also canceled.
At this time, we do not send email notifications prior to every auto-shipment, however the next scheduled shipment date is included on the packing slip/invoice enclosed with each shipment. In addition, one of the benefits of membership is 24/7 access to your account online where you can view the next ship date, postpone your next shipment, view your order status and history, and choose the products you receive in your shipments.
