      The headquarters is in a terrible state, the air conditioning does not work, the wet areas are out of service and the women's bathroom does not have access to the wet areas, they charge a $70 annual maintenance fee that is not seen at the headquarters.

      Ive had an incredibly frustrating experience with LA Fitness, and I feel compelled to share it.For the past few months, Ive been trying to cancel my membership with them, but its been nothing but a never-ending cycle of miscommunication and frustration. I went to my local branch to cancel, and they told me to send an email. I followed their instructions, only to receive an email back saying I needed to go to the branch again! Its a complete runaround.I spoke to a staff member named Farit S, who assured me that emailing would resolve the cancellation, but that turned out to be a complete lie. After waiting weeks and still being charged my monthly membership fee, I received another email from someone named ****, telling me they couldnt cancel the membership via email after all. So now Im stuck paying for a service Im not using, and nobody is taking responsibility for the lack of help or clear communication.This is beyond frustrating, and I feel like Im being taken advantage of. Ive tried multiple times to resolve this, and each time Im either redirected or given false information. If you're considering joining LA Fitness, I would highly recommend thinking twice, as the customer service and support have been nothing short of terrible.

      WORST CUSTOMER SERVICE - NO INTERNAL OWNING OF PROCESSES and LIES I was a gym member in 2024 off ***** in ******, *****. I called in August and spoke to a customer service representative and a manager the following day once he was in the office. I think the current manager is ***, and he did absolutely nothing good. I had my ex-husband dying of cancer at the time and called for an emergency to cancel. After two calls, they agreed to cancel my membership. I was think continued to be billed from Aug until Jan 2025. I called and spoke to a manager again in February; they did cancel it without coming in this time. Which they said they do not do, but again they did. I went to corporate to get my money back, he was rude and terrible and agreed to return my money for one month, which I never saw. NOT FOLLOWING THROUGH AGAIN AND KNOWING IF HE DID NOT NOTE IT THEN IT DID NOT HAPPEN. I I also asked a manager to allow me either 5 months of free gym time since I did not know I was still a member or to credit me for the poor management. No one has gotten back to me. This was the lowest time in my life, and I thought they were doing me a favor, being caring and considerate, only to cause more issues in the long term. This is not the kind of customer service that cares. They are just using their power to try to feel better, which is indeed said. I relied on them to my detriment and thought they did what they said, and they had no way to make it better and provided no recourse during the most challenging time of my life as a single mom of two *******'s sad and not what you want from a gym.

      Gave us a huge runaround when trying to cancel the membership. The only ways to cancel are via snail mail or in person. First day we went in person, it was a weekend and there was no manager, so they couldnt cancel our membership. We went again during the weekday (after finally finding time to go in person and getting charged again) and they told us we were good. However, fast forward to the end of the month and we get charged again anyways. We call to dispute the charge, but they tell us we were never cancelled because they actually dont have a manager at that location, and that a note had been made instead of our membership being cancelled last time we went. My partner was on the phone for over 30 minutes being bounced around trying to cancel before giving up and just driving to another location to cancel. And even then, we dont fully trust that the membership is actually cancelled because of that last visit.Not being able to cancel easily is at best unethical and at worst predatory. The amount of time wasted trying to cancel our memberships is above and beyond what someone should have to go through. They purposefully make it so difficult to cancel so that its easier for them to charge those who dont have as much time to do so. I warn those considering this franchise to consider this before signing up.

      This place discriminated against me because of my race and disability the manager ******* **** she would not properly train me after I expressed my disability to her she treated me badly because of it saying I wasnt as fast as the others and I hadnt even been there a full month. The systems constantly malfunctioned limiting me to being able to complete tasks which I notified them of. I missed work due to medical reason which I notified the manager of. The District Manager *** Sanabriatorres discriminated against me after I tried to tell him about the toxic management he fired me. Him and ******* **** have been harassing me and discriminating against me since I arrived to LA Fitness I have receipts and proof of everything. I fear retaliation from VP ***** *****, Sales Manager ******* ****,and District Manager *** Sanabriatorres. I tried to contact all leaders before I went to the legal route they even banned me after one of their employees invited me into the club facility. I just want Justice and I have many witnesses that I obtained before they fired me.

      Gym staff at the LA fitness in ****** is so rude you say good morning and they ignore you like if you arent even a human I know one the staff has a blue lives matter sticker but you are at work dont treat people of color so rude for no reason we are all human so treat us as people dont just ignore us like we are just trash

      How is this company rated A- with the BBB.......I had been a member of LA fitness for almost 2 years and never had any issues with any staff members. I would come in, my son would join me later, we would work out and leave. Recently one of the front desk clerks threw me out of the facility because she said that i gave her attitude because i asked her to look up my account information on her computer. All this precipitated from the fact that she said that i had to bring my son in at the same time i came to the gym. He couldn't join me later. Your rules clearly state that guest need to be accompanied and he is accompanied when he comes in as i meet him at the door and sign in again into the gym.I had a talk with your corporate office where they acknowledge that there was a misunderstanding within your employees but i feel that this young lady discriminated against us. For her to throw us out when we were right and to state that she works there and can set whatever rules she wants is clear sign of her wanting us out of there.i wanted to write this review so that LA fitness Management is aware of the behavior exhibited by this employee and not a single apology from this business. It is unfortunate too cause until this incident, we were having a good experience...

      I was at the LA Fitness at *********, MD when I was told to leave before the 11:00 closing due to the sauna cleaning. It was only 1030, when two young men between the ages of ***** when they aggressively came into the sauna and were very unprofessional when we were told we had to leave. When asked why I had to leave early when they still had ten basketball players on the court. The younger man with the braids was asked what his name was, he responded "you don't need to know that and get out." When I waited outside the players where still inside playing past 11:00. I have talked to the manager about the unprofessional and aggressive nature of the two young men, the lack of professionalism does not meet the ambiance., and she was very aloft in her response to another issue. This occurred on 19 February 2025 at 10:20pm. I'm sure the CEO (***** *****) would not appreciate a 20-year member receiving this unfair ************. Pippen

      I am so disappointed with this gym. The ONLY great aspects are the classes, sauna. I havent been back in the pool nor hot tub since catching a young couple having *** in it. The gym is run down and absolutely filthy. The sanitation practices need to be visited by the ************************. There always running out of sanitation wipes, but Im wondering where theyre going, because I rarely see ppl sanitizing. I like to wipe my area before and after, but unfortunately most times you cant because of them being out of wipes most times than not. Imagine having to go sit behind others whos sweating just as much as you. Yet, youre having to sit in their sweat, because not only to they not wipe their areas, you also cant because there are no sanitation wipes, no spray or paper towels. Im constantly getting sick because its filthy and germs are everywhere. Its sad when you notify the front desk, were told theres no money. Huh?!? Not with all these members. Its over crowded, every single day. Ive witnessed the sauna being cleaned with the same mop thats being used to mop the floors. Thats disgusting!! The gym is a mess, they dont put things back for the next person and the machines are run down and have not been updated is years. Its bad when the staff and members complain about how bad it is. I know every gym has its problems, but this is too much. Yet theyre still showing the gym to new people. I wont even get on the overcharging for personal trainers and dont offer even a nutritional guide. Ive never been weighed, nor measured. I truly believe they should give me some of my money back. I remembering trying to cancel and they wouldnt let me. My health insurance pays for my membership, and without the glasses that I really enjoy, Id be gone. **********************, send in secret shoppers and start seeing how the gym has gone downhill and what improvements you need to do. Respectfully, a daily active member, thats constantly getting sick from this nasty place.

      Unfortunately this gym has gone dramatically down hill. The Zumba class that ***** runs is extremely loud and disrespectful to the rest of the gym. I come to this gym every single day and I pay for my membership just like everyone else. They seem to think they own the gym for 2 hours every weekend with no consideration of others trying to workout outside their horrible music and yelling. I closed the door half way to only be selfishly opened over and over while they turn their music up and yell more. To only have some rat come out and tell me Im a f****** b**** for not allowing them to scream and yell while I have headphones in turned all the way up and asked to close the door half way. This gym smells like **** on top of it so do as you please with this information but you have been warned. Humans these days are entitled and selfish.
