I am very frustrated with the lack of response from this company. I have left 4 messages about my recent service on 3/14/25 and nobody has returned my calls and I am unable to reach a live person to speak to. I had the main line to my house snaked and before I signed the contract for service, I was given a 6 month residential guarantee. After payment, the technician, **** *******, did not give my the receipt. On my way to work, when I realized he had forgotten to give me the receipt, I called roto-rooter and they said they would put it in my mailbox. Upon returning home and looking at the receipt, he had changed the guarantee form "residential 6 mon" to "commercial 30 days." It is illegal to change a contract after it has been signed and the work payed for. I would like a call back and I would like to be given a new receipt. We used the ************** branch located on Demeter St.

The worker named ******* from my local Roto-Rooter located at ************************************************************************************** came to my property on 02/03/2025 as my tenant called and requested to clean up the sewer pipe. I was out of state and didn't prove the job. He charged $608 (with $50 discount) for a simple sewer cleaning job with a cleanout port. He was clearly trying to take advantage of me as I'm the one that pays the bill but I'm not on-site. The receipt is between my tenant and Roto-Rooter. According to California Contract Law any work performed requires an agreement or contract between the property owner and the service provider. I'd like a partial refund of $300 as he should not proceed the work without my permission.

Failed to accomplish what they were hired to do, despite taking an inordinate amount of time, likely due to inexperience and lack of skill. Documented their inability to accomplish drain cleaning with photos.

Date of Transaction: 12/29/24 Amount of Money Paid to Business: $850 Amount of Money Paid to Repair Damages: $1,980 Service: unclogging Kitchen Sink Dispute: Roto-Rooter sent a technician to our house who spent 3 hours using a motorized mainline auger in the wrong clean out pipe, punching a hole through our Primary Shower's cast-iron p-trap. The pipe structure the technician was in had no previous problems, and was not connected to the Kitchen Sink. After turning the shower on, water leaked through the ceiling and out the baseboards of our home. We called Roto-Rooter to send someone out to repair the pipe. To repair the pipe, Roto-Rooter cut 3 holes in our ceiling, and confirmed that they would pay for drywall repairs. They paid for the quote, but did not cover the remaining cost when additional water damage was found by the contractor.Resolution: Their general manager mocked us on a phone call, threatened not to pay us anything, indicating if we filed a complaint it would come back to him, and claiming, incorrectly that there was already cracks in our pipe, evident from mold in the pictures we sent - neither his plumber, his water restoration specialist, nor our contractor mentioned any evidence of mold when they were working on the ceiling. We believe this was an attempt to scare us into backing down.

BBB Review - Roto-Rooter I am beyond frustrated with the unprofessionalism and incompetence of Roto-Rooter. This has been one of the most disorganized experiences Ive ever had with a service provider. On January 24 at 7 AM, my sprinkler line cracked due to extreme cold. I called several companies and chose Roto-Rooter solely based on their promised 2 PM ***. After waiting all day, I was informed that 2 PM was actually a 2-6 PM windowwhich I was never told upfront. By 9 PM, after six calls, a so-called "water mitigation crew" arrivedsmelling like weed, using phone flashlights, and barely doing anything. Meanwhile, the plumber never showed up, despite my multiple confirmation calls. I was lied to about why, first being told I didnt confirm the appointment (which I did), then later told he had a family emergency and took my request off the schedule without notifying dispatch. After 14 hours of waiting, they sent another plumber, who looked at the pipe for 20 seconds and told me they dont even work on sprinkler lines. The water mitigation crew was painfully slow, taking three nights to remove one wall and part of the ceiling. While doing so, they knocked off a cap from the sprinkler line, flooding a new area and costing me $400 in repairs and another full day without water. A week later, an inspector confirmed they hadnt even finished the required work, yet no one followed up.I spent weeks calling supervisors and agents, only to be ignored. Farnom, a supposed supervisor, promised a follow-up and never responded. My garage is still torn apart, my insurance claim is stalled, and I still dont have an estimate for the damages caused by their crew. This company has zero accountability. I demand immediate action, or I will escalate this to corporate, legal action, and every review platform possible. Avoid Roto-Rooter at all costs.

These people are dishonest scammers. They quote 4-6x what any other provider does and when you're intelligent enough to know that and tell them to go away, they charge you a "trip fee". This is a dishonest business run by dishonest people.

We were having issues with a clog in our main kitchen sink. Water was pouring very slowly down the drain and then anytime we would run our dishwasher water would clog to the top of the sink and would not drain. Because the water would not drain, we had to use a personal shop vac to drain the water in our sink. We called Roto Rooters to fix this problem. They came out to our house to do an inspection to quote us a price for $99. They assured us they could fix this problem then proceeded to snake our drain for 6 hours. After they were done the water was still flowing slowly down the drain. Shortly after they left, we ran our dishwasher to test the quality of their work, and our sink then proceeded to overflow again. I called them in the morning to inform them that our issue was unresolved by their work. They then tried to charge me $99 for another inspection fee then they were wanting to charge us the same exact price for another day of failed work. We then called another plumber in town who was able to resolve our issues in a bout a little over an hour and for under half the price. They failed to do the job that we paid them to do, and I do not feel we should have had to pay them for failed work.

Our home 2 sum pumps failed in November 2023. We hired Roto Rooter to replace them . They assured us that the pumps will be replaced with new pumps and they will last us for 10 years that is the general age of the pumps. They completed the job in 2023, but the pumps never worked properly. We kept calling them to fix the issue. One pump completely gave up after 6 month and second died in october 2024. Eventually roto rooter told us that the electric system was not working but the pumps were in pristine condition. We hired the electrician to fix but the electrician cannot find any problem to fix. We decided to get a second opinion fron Tucson Plumbing and they told us the pumps were dead and intially they were the wrong pumps for the job and also they were not brand new.

On Friday I called ROTO ROOTER's customer ********************** regarding a valve. I was advised the guarantee from the service repair has expired. That person also advised to me the amount I paid, the date of the service repair and what the tech wrote on the ticket. Today, I had another plumbing company come out and I was advised that the valve that was replaced by ROTO ROOTER is NOT working and is a faulty part. I called over to ROTO ROOTER ************ and requested to talk to a manager. I was then transferred to a *** ****. After speaking to *** ****, he advised that he will call me back with the information I was asking for. Before I disconnected the line, I asked *** **** can he transfer me back to the main b/c I needed the information regarding the repair ticket. *** **** advised me to call the number I called b4 I got to him. I called the number back and I was transferred a person, and he advised that he was the general manager (***, I think) and that he makes the final decision. After going back and forth with this general manager who advises that he makes the final decision, for over 15 mins he was very rude, unprofessional, lacks in communication skills as well as listening skills. This person was very sarcastic, argumentative and aggressive. This person also advised if I would like to have someone come out to do the repair, he can send a tech. I advised "REALLY??" I will never have this company come out to my home ever again. He advised that the call is recording which is great I hope someone can listen. If the two calls were recorded, I would like to have the call reviewed regarding everything I experienced for today.

roto router handled my claim with allstate and water damage to my house. they gave me an estimate of what I would receive for damages. they tore out my bathtub and surround tub, flooring in spots in kitchen, dining room. insurance did not cover any of that so I'm left without a shower or flooring. they broke their promise to me. I've been almost a year without a shower. l had to join a gym to get a shower.i am a senior, handicapped, have to drive 10 miles to gym without a dependable car. I only received one 6th the amount roto router estimate said I should receive. shouldn't they do the right thing by me and fix the problem? I would deeply appreciate it. thanks
