I hired this tax firm based out of **. I explained my situation and I was elated to hear that they will help me as they have helped many clients with similar issues. At first, I did not accept their help due to I had to pay $*** for them to take my case and the agent I was speaking to stated she does not know what the cost afterwards would be. She assured me that usually its around $**** to $**. I would get constant calls from that same agent trying to win my business but ignored them. I then received correspondence from the *** so I decided to hire Ideal Tax Solutions.
A few years back when I first registered to the *** site to see my taxes the total it showed I owed was over $***. After Ideal Tax finished their first phase, they told me its about $*** and that its going to take $**** for them to help me with this matter. I was livid, upset, frustrated and confused but the agents promised great results that they "reduce *** debt substantially" and I had no choice but to go along with it.
After I agreed to pay $*** a month which was overwhelming, I started dealing with ******* *******. The process took over 1 year to come to resolution which the resolution was my taxes is not over $*** and they have negotiated with the *** a payment installment of $**** a month. Needless to say I was furious, spoke to an account manager the review call recordings and got nowhere.
I recently contacted the *** a the end of September, 2023 to get my tax issue corrected and to understand why the amount jumped. I informed the *** agent I hired a firm to address this matter. I was not surprised when I was told, "sir there has been no one or firm or company inquired or amended or abated on your behalf".
I've copied and paste a few emails correspondence from Ideal Tax in ** **** saying they're working with IRS on my behalf.
I've also attached a copy of the contract i was forced to sign. I was sent the contract while on the phone with agent telling to just sign and she'll explain it.Business Response

Hi, thank you for your response. As I stated to the manager I spoke with, I was led by the beginning agent as far as the results which forced me to sign the contract. I have always been able to call the *** and make arrangements, why would I pay you about $**** to make payment arrangements, that makes zero sense. I called the ***, NO ONE or company abated or worked on amendment as you all mentioned y’all was doing. I’m a senior call center manager, calls are monitored, I assured that manager to pull the call as he was calling me a liar like you are. I just want my money back.Business Response

I contacted ideal tax because I received a letter from the *** and was not sure what to do to resolve the issue. The first guy I spoke to at ideal tax spent time with me on the phone, went over everything and told me they would of course need to look into the irs portal prior to knowing what route to take but that it would probably need an amended tax return for the year that the irs was sending me the notices. He told me that as soon as my payment processed they would start working on it for me. He also said that they would file my current refund included in this. I thought awesome let's do it! A few days later payment was taken out of my account. I submitted all of my documents to them with all of the irs notices and dependent info etc. I never heard from anyone. After a few weeks I reached out them, then I was told someone would contact me, after a few more days I received an email from a woman saying she was assigned to my case.. I emailed her back and sent her all of my info again and explained my concerns just so we would be on tje same page. It took her another few days to respond and she just kept asking me for info that I already sent. This was starting to get very frustrating, she then tells me that she isn't working on my previous return or fixing my issues with the irs all she is doing is filing my current return which is now late because nobody contacted me. After this I called and emailed requesting to speak to management, u emailed the original guy that hooked me in, and everyone just ignored me from this point. I emailed my case manager and told her I do not want your services and I want a refund asked how I can speak to an actual manager or someone that will be able to assist me with a refund. Again nothing, they never did the job and never gave me my money back. Now on top of them scamming me my current year return is very late and I still have to Pay someone else to assist in fixing my irs debt issue.Business Response

I called Ideal Tax about needing assistance with an IRS federal issue. We discussed my situation and they said they could help me. I expressed the concerns I had with all the reviews and complaints that they were scammers. They convinced me it was simply customers who were upset that wouldn't answer the calls from Ideal Tax and that it was customers who were not happy. They taxed me multiple times throughout the day morning, noon, and night even after business hours. I agreed to their service and paid a ******************************************************************************************************************************* order for them to help I needed to pay ******* when I owe ****** how does that even make sense? I contacted Ideal Tax Solutions in Spring 2020 to resolve a tax issue with the **** I worked with this business over the course over secwral months, complyinh with all of their requests. I was then told by the company that they submitted all of my information to the **** and that we were awaiting a response from the **** I did not hear them for a month, despite calling regularly during business hours; when i was put through, I was shuffled around endlessly and told that the *** backed up and Ideal Tax Solution would contact me once they heard back. This went on for about a year. The company then changed its tune and told me too much time had passed and I had to resubmit *** the paperwork i had alrwafy supplied them with, even after paying them $10,000. At that point, i was shuffled one case worker to ********, each one making me resubmit the same paperwork over and over again. Then in 2023 they made me pay another $700.00 to file my 2022 taxes they said they needed, which I did. Then, they dragged it out saying they needed additional paperwork signed and mailed via ****** I did this multiple times and they keep stringing me along, not fulfilling their services depite taking $10,750 which was everything I had, and knowing that I was unemployed and live with certain disabilities that they took advantage of. Currently, they respond with the same email over and over, dragging this out for what is going on three years. At yhis point, I am concerned as to the legitimacy of this business; as well as the safety of my persobak information, and whether my tax issue will ever be resolved. I havecsaved all emails, messages and paperwork showing my cooperation and their unwillingness to resolve it. After reviewing our records, it's clear that there were no communication gaps on our part. Delays primarily occurred due to factors beyond our control, such as the extended processing times at the **** which lasted over a year for tax returns during that period ***************************, who was your Case Manager at that time, sent you the tax returns for your signature on June 28, 2021. Regrettably, these documents were not returned until September 24, 2021, resulting in a three-month delay on your side. We maintained our commitment to addressing your case diligently,especially as your taxes up to the year 2020 had been successfully processed.During this phase, *************************** took over as your case manager. He initiated a request for certain documents from you on August 17, 2022, and diligently followed up over several weeks. Unfortunately, on September 28, 2022, the case had to be suspended due to non-receipt of the requested documents. It's worth noting that these documents differed from the ones previously requested by *****, as we were now in need of financial documents. In 2023, we invoiced you $790 to complete your tax returns for 2021-22. This was essential to meet compliance requirements. Furthermore, we had been urging you to have CL file your 2021 taxes since October 2022, but this wasn't initiated until March 2023,resulting in a five-month delay. The "additional paperwork" you mentioned pertains to the signed tax returns we prepared. We required your physical signature and for you to mail them back. There were multiple iterations of this process because you repeatedly sent incorrect forms, despite detailed emails specifying where to sign and what to return. Entered agreement on 5/5/23 to handle a tax situation of 2022. I paid $******** on 5/9/23 to the company. The first person I spoke with was ***** ******* (only assume no longer with the company as email is blocked and office phone is constantly busy). Case manager assigned ********* ****** ***** (case manager). Whenever I received correspondence from the *** I provided copies to **** who advised "this is just normal correspondence from the ***. Nothing to worry about". I received several letters, each being provided to ****. I signed a 433-D on 6/30/23 for a monthly payment of $******. Then on 9/12/23 I received a notification from the *** of a tax lien against me. I sent this to **** - NO RESPONSE. I called the *** on 9/13/23 and spoke with Ms. **** (employee # *********) and was advised that an individual named ***** ***** had called the *** on 7/10/23 and had agreed to a payment plan of $*****/monthly. I was never advised verbally or in writing of this agreed amount. I asked Ms. **** if the individual or any other individual had called other than 7/10/23. Her response "NO". From 5/5/23 - 9/12/23 only one call was made from Ideal-Tax to the *** on my case. One phone call to the IRS at a cost of $********. I advised both **** ***** and ***** ***** of my findings. I have received no communication from either person. Paying over $** for a one-time phone call is excessive to say the least. My call with the IRS took approximately 45 minutes. I used ideal tax solution to help me come to an agreement with the *** which we did have it set on a tier program and money was taken out from the *** for a ew months now irs is coming at me saying that’s not going to work and wants me to pay a heck of a lot more a month that I can’t afford. I called them and needed assistance with a large error made my cpa. We discussed my situation and ********* said they could help me. I expressed the concerns I had with all the reviews and complaints that they were scammers. ********* convinced me it was simply customers who were upset that wouldnt answer the calls from Ideal tax and that it was customers that were not happy. I agreed to their service and paid a ****** fee. I was guaranteed by ********* that they would try to call the *** that Friday to get me in their system. She assured me a call back on Monday that it would happen by Monday. No calls and no emails followed. I sent maybe 10 unanswered emails to her and finally got a straight and what I saw as blunt email saying we will notify you when we have contact with Irs. She confined to get my money and scheduled a 1pm call with me to discuss an update and whats the plan would be to help resolve this major error on my taxes. I took off work and she never called me. I sent her an email before the call telling her I was looking forward to the call. She never called me. I then emailed her saying I was releasing them and wanted a refund. Its then she emails be as if nothing is wrong saying they wanted to update me as to where they were and the irs wasnt even contacted. I said send me my money back. I have sent several emails asking for a refund. The exact thing happen to me that I read online has happened to others with this company. I am contacting my credit card company and opening a claim on them if they refund me my money.Business Response

I went to Ideal Tax to have them help me resolve an outstanding IRS debt. They took $7,500 from me with no resolution. I went through **** different case managers. I was dropped because I didn't provide them a form in time. I provided every form they ever asked for several times. I then paid again to have them re-open my case. They want another $5,295 because "things have changed". No sir they have not. Its the same debt I've had before just a little higher because of penalties. I then cancelled my contract and I'm going with a different company.Business Response

Please be aware that we treat all complaints with utmost seriousness and strive to resolve them whenever possible. Based on the records we have documented, we followed procedure accordingly. We started off by filling an amended **** for tax year 2018 to report an unreported ****-C for a canceled debt of $48K. From here we had to wait for that to process with the *** before moving you to resolution. Once moved, we requested the information needed to conduct the financial analysis, but we did not get the forms we needed. Also, our internal records do not show you having **** case managers. Your case was Suspended because your Case Manager requested Docs from June 27th until October 21st. There was also a month where you did not answer any of our calls. We were not waiting on one form, but rather on the following: Need 2021 Tax Return/2 more recent paystubs/2021 SSA-**** or 2021 SSI Award letter to verify SSI income/Proof of rent payment. The information we requested was never received. Since your case was suspended in October of **************************************************** 2021, we had to redo the compliance check. That is what you paid us for. After this compliance check we found that there was a new debt for 2020 and that his former debt had gone up hence the fee he was proposed with. Lastly, at one point you called to say you changed your phone number and never notified us of the change. I contacted Ideal Tax on July 7 2023 for assistance with a tax debt. They promised to contact the *** with Power of Attorney in 3 days and to present a full strategic plan to me within 2 weeks. None of this ever happened. They asked for an initial payment of $*** which I paid on July 7 2023.
My subsequent phone calls yielded promises that a manager would call me. This never happened.
I have attempted to cancel this scam by phone and email and now they do not return my inquiries.Business Response

Approximately about 18 months ago I was In need of help to deal with the **** because I was owing money from the past years so I hire Ideal tax a company base in ********* ********** and I have an agreement with them because they promised me they were going to deal with the *** and they will reduce the amount to pay them will be minimum compared to what I was owing , for that purpose I pay them $6000.00 at front and after that I made payments of $1400 a month for one year and total I paid was$22800, after 18 months dealing with them sending all Cains of document etc they did not do anything to help me out, the *** ended up to levy all my accounts and payroll to make payment , for that purpose I hade to take money from my house and I ended up paying to the *** $71,000 plus late fees and penalties. This is the reason why I ask you please help me to recuperate the money I paid to Ideal Taxs because is not fare to pay money for a work never been done Thank youBusiness Response

Our team of tax associates cannot commit to a guaranteed reduction of your tax debt upon taking you on as a client, as this is not within our capacity to assure. It's crucial for us to conduct a comprehensive financial analysis before making any determinations. According to our records, we had previously proposed an installment agreement, but unfortunately, the Revenue Officer rejected this proposal, requesting additional information. This information included a fully completed 2022 tax return showing a zero balance. Although we were in the process of preparing the return, we encountered a setback as we never received the necessary expense details for the Schedule C from you. Additionally, on your complaint you also mention that the **** ended up to levy all my accounts and payroll to make payment." However, this action was not communicated to us by you. When we contacted you to follow up on the information, you had indicated that you had already settled the outstanding balance. I dont accept the Ideal tax response because the following:
When they request the documents to file my 2022 income tax returns I send them all the information including all documents, after that I was calling them everyday to see if they received and they never respond to me, after several attempts finally **** one of the case managers respond to me to let me know the person who was in charge of my case (*****************************) was not longer in charge of my case and they a sign another person and he give me her phone number I call her too many times as well as I email her in many occasions with no response , the death line set up for the *** was approaching and Ideal tax was not moving fast enough, that is the reason I got desperate and I ended up to take a loan from my house to pay the *** unfortunately the loan came 2 days after the *** levy all myBank accounts and my payroll, this causing a lot of damage on my family budget, yesterday the Ideal tax representative call me to ask me again to see what was going on with 2022 tax I told her I don't need to do my Taxs with them because they didn't help me in a timely matter, I need ideal Taxs to return my money ( $24,000.00) because they did not perform the work for what they were hired, I did lots of sacrifice to pay them thinking they were going to help me and they didn't

Looks like, although you had indeed turned in the necessary tax forms, we were still awaiting on your submission of business-related expenses. A stipulation set by you Revenue Officer was that the 2022 return could not have any outstanding balance. We needed that information to proceed. As you can see, while we were acting fast, our progress was contingent on your provision of expenses to prepare the return and subsequent submission to the *** as these expenses were among the requested items. Unfortunately Im not accepting your response do to is not the truth, your response was extremely slow and cause a lot of damage to me, I send to you all the necessary documents for you to file my 2022 income tax and unfortunately you guys change the case manager and the last person who was in charge of my file didn't respond on time , I send her several email and call her in several occasion with out response, she respond to me when the *** file a levy in all my accounts and my wife's payroll, I ended up taking money from my house equity to pay the *** all the money I was owing in other words I give a way $24,000.00 to you guys for nothing no results at all, I need my money back ASAP before I hire and attorney to help me out or to be nice with your company and avoid any extra expenses with attorney fees etc lets split what I pay you and return to me half of that, this is my last request before I talk with my lawyer.
