We purchased a new Thermador model PRD366GHU/23 6 burner commercial range from our local appliance dealer & installed April 2019 for $7599.00.Since 6 potentiometers(3 in each of the 2-xlow burners),1 burner electrode &1 switch interrupter. The labor is much more expensive then parts.Thermador will ONLY talk to certified appliance repair persons.Range is serviceable by us yet they will not talk to us.Background information: I install dryers, evaporators, condensers and pasteurizer equipment in plants and certify and commission equipment, my husband is a trucking company owner with years of mechanical experience. This range is a lemon Thermador controls part/warranty to run out so they did not have to actually "fix" it. Now currently experiencing left 2 x-low burners ignitors sparking when the burner handle is in the off position.4th failure of these commercial burners, either they have engineered failures that Thermador does not want to fix/admit or this range is a Lemon.I have had repeated contact with Thermador and Thermador fails to pass my concerns to management.Thermador does not answer my question of How many design failures have they had with the x-low burner, because the other 4 burners have never failed. This commercial range that costed $7599.00 should last when only used in our home with 2 people living here in clean and well maintained conditions. With the same parts failures continuing, I feel Thermador should have to replace this range or repair the unit.Labor is 4-5 times more costly than the parts.Thermador requires the certified service technician diagnosis' the range with Thermador on the phone line (this involves disassembly then re-assembly) then order the parts Thermador feels are needed and return another day generally weeks later and again disassembly, install and re-assembly. All while hoping that fixes the problem. These ranges are not even certified tech friendly serviceable units.Thermador has a full record of purchase, install and service.Business Response

I had a ***air done for my stove in February 2023 after 2 months of not having a working stove. The Bosch ***air man was able to get the stove working again but I had to manually light the gas stovetop with a match. Less than a year later the stove has stopped working again. I called Bosch ***air again and was told I was under warranty because I had the same issue less than one year later. A tech came out and gave a $2500 ***air eatimate and a 3 month wait for the ***air. I had requested a new stove but was given a buy back option of $2000. I said no. I was given another buy back option of $1200. I again said no. So I told Bosch to come and fix it. I said the 3 month wait for ***air is unacceptable. They said they didn't know what the tech was talking about wih a 3 month wait and they scheduled me for 1/13/25. I called today to verify and they don't have me scheduled. The stove was not correctly fixed the first time and I am at my ***** end getting resolution. I need a working stove and they are pushing out the ***air becuae they know they can't fix and want me to buy another one. **************** never calls you back. You can never speak to anyone besides the customer service *** that answers the phone. I'm spending money eating out *** that I should not have to. I also do not have the money at this time to purchase a new stove. I want Bosch to make good on their ***air warranty and give me a working stove for free as it can not be fixed. Do I need to get a lawyer?Business Response

We bought a Bosch refrigerator a year ago. Well, its been a year and six months now but before the one year warranty was up our Bosch refrigerator that we paid $3000 for broke and it ruined all of our food. Bosch said they cant replace anything until somebody has came out there and looked at it so Bosch sent someone out to our house six different times to try to fix the refrigerator and they never got it fixed. We ruined a refrigerator and freezer full of food three different times and Bosch still has not fixed or replaced our refrigerator. This has been going on for six months nowBusiness Response

I am also filing a complaint about Boschs so far reluctance to fulfill a lifetime warranty on its product. I also spoke with four separate Bosch customer service providers about the warranty for my dishwasher, and am submitting a complaint against the third representative detailed below.I recently bought a house, and the dishwasher that had been purchased by the previous owner broke. I checked the warranty of the dishwasher in the products manual. The tub of the dishwasher is rusted through, which has a lifetime warranty for the purchaser and any subsequent owners. The 1st representative I spoke with indicated that the product was probably under warranty, and required an authorized technician to confirm. I contacted an authorized technician, who said he needed an authorization number from Bosch.I called Bosch back for this number, and the 2nd representative mistakenly hung up on me. The 3rd representative told me that the product is not under warranty without a proof of purchase. I informed him that this was inconsistent with the 1st representative's told me. Moreover, the original owner died, and this step seemed unnecessary because this is a lifetime warranty on a serialized dishwasher. I asked to speak to a supervisor or the warranty department given the discrepancies, and was told, "You can ask however times you want but are not speaking to a supervisor." He could not hang up the phone on me, so then put me on an indefinite hold for 20 minutes until I ended the call. The last representative was very knowledgeable about their product, flexible in understanding my concerns, and strove to identify win-win solutions. She clarified the first representative's solution for me, noting that the authorized technician would submit the warranty claim and that no authorization number is needed now. She also submitted a formal complaint on her colleague using the below number, noting that he was relatively new and inexperienced.Business Response

I purchased a Bosch 800 series Super SilencePlus dishwasher, which was advertised with noise level of 42 dBA dishwasher and installed on December 2023. Upon installation I discovered significantly higher noise levels, ranging from 58 64 dBA. This exceeds the advertised level and easily audible at a far distance. Despite four service calls (December 28, 2023; February 14, 2024; March 12, 2024; December 18, 2024) to diagnose the issue, the excessive noise persists. Each technician has been unable to diagnose the root cause and resolve the issue. This persistent and unresolved noise issue, despite multiple service attempts, strongly suggests a manufacturing defect in the dishwasher. I have provided all the requested diagnosis reports to Bosch regarding this issue. However, instead of replacing the defective dishwasher, Bosch insists on a 5th service call at my expense, citing the imminent warranty expiration.I am deeply dissatisfied and greatly inconvenienced by the persistent noise emanating from this dishwasher. Despite repeated service attempts and the clear failure to resolve the issue, Bosch has refused my request for a replacement unit.Business Response

I am deeply dissatisfied with Bosch failure to stand behind their product quality. Despite purchasing their 800 Series dishwasher, advertised with a 42 dBA noise level, I am experiencing significantly higher noise levels (56 64 dBA). This is unacceptable, especially considering the premium price and the fact that this is the second-highest tier in their product lines.
A Bosch-dispatched technician conformed the excess noise, noting that he was the fourth technician send for the same issue. This the quote from his diagnostic report. Im the 4th tech to come look at the unit for the same issue. Cx showed me on the unit that its supposed to be 42 dB and she was using some device and it was ***** dB when running the unit.
Boschs claim that these noise levels are acceptable is incomprehensible. Furthermore, their refusal to honor the two-year warranty provided by ****** is completely unacceptable.
I will continue to pursue all available avenues to seek a resolution to this issue, including a replacement unit that meets the advertised specifications or a full refund.Business Response

I purchased a Bosch Wall oven Microwave from Aren Appliance in 2020 and have had major issues with the microwave eve since the purchase. It continues to this day, and we have spent a lot of time without the use of a microwave. Bosch has paid for the repairs until the last time it occurred and is telling me it is out of warranty and there is nothing they can do. I am requesting replacement of the unit at this time.Business Response

We purchased a Bosch HMD8451UC microwave new in September 2022 from Best Buy at a cost of $1,749.99 plus tax and it was installed in January 2023. The microwave is causing an electrical circuit breaker to trip, even when not in use. We've had an electrician check the house electrical circuit and he found nothing wrong with it. The first time that the microwave tripped the circuit breaker, it also blew its own internal fuse. We paid an appliance repair company $249.00 to fix the microwave's fuse but it's tripped the breaker numerous times since then so it still has some type of short circuit issue. After we started having electrical problems and the repair didn't work, I contacted Bosch via email on July 4, 2024 to report it and was told that I would need to schedule another repair (at more expense, of course, see attached email thread). In the meantime, I've learned that this particular model of microwave (HMD8451UC) was the subject of a lawsuit in early 2020 (************************************************************************) due to the appliance catching on fire from faulty electronics (see attached pdf of the pertinent website content).Since Bosch knew that it was selling faulty equipment as early as 2020, it should have stopped manufacturing this item and had a recall to give customers the opportunity to get either a refund or a new microwave which doesn't have these issues. A store credit at ******** where we purchased the appliance would be an acceptable solution also.Business Response

I'm rejecting the business response because it needs to be updated. Bosch is working with me on a resolution to my complaint in a very professional and forthright manner to include having a representative come to my home to inspect the microwave in question, which I greatly appreciate. Per my conversation with Bosch, I'm going to hold off on stating a specific, agreeable resolution until such time as their representative has examined my microwave.Business Response

I ordered a Bosch 800 series fridge/freezer from Best Buy. The model number is B36CT80SNS/43. This was ordered in early October and delivered about Oct 10th. In mid November the freezer stopped functioning, losing all of the food and rendering it inoperable during the holidays. Additionally, an alarm goes off every 3-4 hours waking us up every night (but cant be turned off without turning off the freezer as well). We contacted Bosch and it took almost two weeks for a repair visit. We had two more visits during during December, which actually only disabled more functions as they replaced different electronic components. Finally, on December 20th, the service technician declared it irreparable, as the compressor had failed, and we provided him with Best Buy proof of purchase (including order number - everything that was given to us by Best Buy). The technician confirmed this. We were unable to get any updates until the beginning of January when they told me that the case had been cancelled prior to a final decision due to the receipt not containing Best Buys logo and contact information. They said we could restart the process when they receive that and I have sent it. But we have been 2 months without a working freezer being kept up all night by an alarm for a brand new 3 month old freezer that cost several thousand dollars. We are at our wits end for a freezer that clearly was improperly made (and has additional more minor problems like drawers not sealing etc) and yet they continue to find any reason to refuse further work.Business Response

On 12/31/2021 I purchased a full Thermador set of appliances. I spent a lot of money as I didnt want the hassle of low end appliances that needed constant repair or replacement. I wanted something nice that would last.Due to back orders, I did not receive all my items for over a year. Within the first month I had to have service on the $9000 range, PRG364WDG. At that point I hadnt even received the hood so I was not even able to use all the features of the range to see if there were any other issues. Thermador extended the warranty and I thought all was well. A few months later I had to have the $3000 dishwasher repaired as well as another repair to the range. Now the range is down again, the oven can not be used and the parts are on back order. It has been a month of no oven. We were not able to do a 20 year Christmas morning tradition, were not able to have a traditional Christmas dinner, and now it is New Years Eve, I have 15 of my kids friends over and am unable to use the oven. This is not what I expect from luxury appliances. When you spend $9000 on a range, you expect it to work. Ive literally had this in my possession just over 2 years and able to fully use it for less time than that. Before the holidays, I spend hundreds of dollars on groceries, which have all expired due to not being able to use this luxury appliance. I have had to take off of work 6 times to meet the repair company on just this appliance and another 2 times on the dishwasher. I built my kitchen around these appliances as I thought they would be a showcase. I either want the range replaced for the same model with an extended warranty. Or refund all of the appliances so I can buy a replacement that will actually work.Business Response

I am satisfied with this solution of a replacement, I will accept the solution and close this once I have it in writing, and also verification in writing that the replacement unit will have a full warranty. I am also wanting to know the estimated timeframe as the original purchase took around 4 months for the range to be delivered. If they are still on backorder, we will need to figure something out.Business Response
